I was 6 years old in 1973 and lived in Valparaiso. I remember crystal clear watching on tv in black and white how The Moneda Palace was bombarded and my mother and grandmother talked to eachother trying to appear clam and under control in front of me. None of my close relatives suffered persecution or arrest. Only one of my mother's cousin had to jump into the mexican embassy and from there manage to find her husband and 6 years old son.Her and her family fled to Mexico and finally Norway.
