I'm sorry but how can you sleep with those things in your house? I'm not afraid of many things but spiders just scare the shit out of me. I don't want to hate them but I do.
Despite they're seemingly menacing appearance, there's really no need to be scared of them. They kill all the pesky insects like mosquitoes. Most of them aren't even aggressive. Notice how they run away than try to fight.
I too was petrified of them until I brought home a tarantula. I studied them and became passionate about them.
I'd honestly would be more scared of yellow jackets since they sting you for no reason.
down to 63 ts? lol Pokies are awsome. now time to hope my P Miranda and P regalis are female lolz. I got 4 brachy slings also. and 3 N cromatis 1/2"ers
Good to see her in good health, same for all your T's Jon. I'll be ordering P. regalis slings from Robc in acouple weeks once they are ready. Pretty excited. Also put in dibs for one of his singapores and a versicolor. Would love to get a hold of one of his gooty slings, but I just got a house, so I can't be spending so much on new T's. My wish list goes on and on.
Jon,Which 1 would you choose if you could have only 1. Brachypelma albopilosum,Brachpelma smithi,Brachpelma boehmei or cyclosternum fasciatum? All slings.
I have these two arboreal enclosures (more height than width) which I estimate to have a volume of a 15 gallon enclosure. I used to use them, when I housed green anoles. Would that be enough to house an Indian ornamental? At some organic soil, and some decor and a hide.........
@gizmohardy: Tarantulas are one of the best exotic pets to keep; beautiful colors, lower maintenance than reptiles, no UVB bulbs (they cost like $10 for just one bulb) no noise, and fun to look at and to care for. They eat once a week, so its not like a reptile which requires food every other day from the pet store. Just don't dust the crickets like you would with a reptile. The calcium isn't good for invertebrates like tarantulas or scorpions.
Looks to me like they were just jammin', lol.

hmmm, i'm guessing you like spiders
(lol, i'm SO smart -_-)
anyways, i'm fine with spiders, until they crawl on me, because then i might get bit :/
ooh, and i have a question. i heard that only female spiders make the circular webs. Is that true?

In some true spider species, yes females do make circular webs.
Only few tarantulas web, but not in circular form

after 16 years of keeping them, and making daily checks to make sure the cages are locked, they don't bother me one bit.

After 15 years of screaming like a girl whenever i sasw one, it bothers me. I act tough but when I see a spider i turn into a little girl.

I forgot to add that they have a screen all around, besides a plastic bottom, instead of terrarium glass.
