  • I dont ride Horses, However as an avid Motorcycle rider the Principle is the same. It is a natural Tendency to try to catch yourself. And that is how rders sustain more injuries. Its very hard to teach Going down correctly. Good video!!

  • your really getting good at putting the vids together. About falling, if you have kids and theres a tae kwon do studio around, they teach all this falling and such. Some great skill as well. But stick with the Korean owned and run. Any others are only out for your money. Great vid sir

  • Hey! I don't understand english very well but love you vid it's very nice :)

  • @VampiresMovies That's very nice. Thank you!

  • Not being a horse dude I must say that this is all pretty good info that is transferable to most fall risk sports. I remember recently falling like Linc explains on top of another mountainbiker. I was fine :-)

After your fall you will most likely not dislocate anything if you quit and head to the local winery for a glass

  • @discoape Thank you for the good comment and sense of humor, too : )

  • Great information. My horse fell with me on a rocky trail and I only had a few scrapes. Try using a tripod on with your video camera for more comfortable viewing.

    Thanks for your helpful tips.(:

  • @jms85351 Thanks for the input and good words. All appreciated!

  • Very nice video...!!!

  • @Egyptahotep Thank you!!!

  • Good rolls.

I've taken aikijutsu for several years and some judo.

I always seen the ground smacked with the palm as a shock absorber.

Using the back hand could injure the wrist or metacarpal bones.

Look up break falls. Hope it helps. Thanks

  • @Oty3d Thank you for your good comment. Appreciated : ) Smacking the ground with the palm is often the best shock absorber as you say and it's definitely worth mentioning; however, depending on the angle of body and limbs, speed, height, momentum, direction of movement... these are all factors as to what might be the best method of landing and/or rolling. Hope that helps. Thanks again! (P.S. I did look up break falls and watched a video and it reminded me of my judo lessons--great stuff.)

  • @actionadventures I understand where you coming from. Thanks for the reply.

  • @Oty3d And thank You again for that added input, well worth everyone noting!

  • I fell off my bike when I was 7 years old and busted my arm in 2 places. I landed just like you said, using my hand, no joke. I wish I had you tube and friends like you back then... Watch the rock dude :)

  • @Rammshtyn That definitely seems to be a common wrong way to fall on the hand when you're going down backwards. I broke my wrist like that falling off a skim board when I was 10 or 11. Thanks for the comment!

  • Very interesting and instructive.

  • Hi,thanks for sharing this great video! A girl in my family fell of the horse, and hurt herself badly. She is ok now,but she was at the hospital for a long time. You showed how to fall in a great way!

  • @togun0204 I appreciate you sharing this experience. I broke my arm on a skim board when I was around 11 or 12. I fell back on my wrist the wrong way. Years later I watched my daughter do the same thing on roller blades. Knowing how to fall the right way, being prepared for it, would've prevented these two injuries, i.e., my daughter and I could have used my own video ; ) Glad the girl is ok! : )

  • Thanks for sharing
