explosions in the sky is an good instrumental band. not nearly as heavy as isis or pelican and any of those but they have a very full and melodic sound.

Signal Hill (no vocals, softer) / Rosetta (more like Isis) / God Is An Astronaut / Godspeed You Black Emperor (different, but still good, though a lot of people hate them) / Everything else has been listed already.
