I'm thinking that this is most definitely the Version that Aaron Carter had done on Disney Mania because of the instruments in the background sound exactly like what Aaron Carter had done when he did his own remix of this song :P lol XD sorry just had to say it :P
@dracothedrangonful One time they played this song in the courtyard in New Orleans Square in Disneyland, and everyone got up and started dancing. I was pulled in XD
@dracothedrangonful Oh my god, it's the best place ever! And when they played it there, it was so much fun! One day in D-land is the most fun ever! You should go there sometime!
I did too. I had the soundtrack on cassette and this song was on the second side and was the last song. I didn't even know it was there for the longest until I forgot and left it in the player. It came on and I started dancing right there while doing dishes. Sad....I know *sighs*
It might not of been "in the movie" but this is the original from the movie soundtrack. I own the soundtrack and this is the same version by Elton John (Not by Simba).
Um, both versions were written by the same people (Elton John and Tim Rice), and both versions were released at the same time, on the original soundtrack.
It's not that I can't accept it, I totally can, I can see your point, just I don't think you can accept that both this and the film version were made by the exact same people, at the exact same time. Look it up.
But how do you know that? The soundtrack was released at the same time as the film. So for all we know either of them could have been written before the other.
The point is that they are both the original neither are re-written, the reason is because they're different, this one is Elton's take on it, the other is the way the movie used it, I'm not saying one is better than the other, just that they deserve to both be called "Original".
Hah! You really don't get it, do you? Look at the fricking CD cover on this video, look at the bottom, it says "Original Songs", doesn't that prove to you that they're both original? Probably not because you're stubborn.
Just because a song is in a film doesn't mean it's the original (I'm not saying the one in the film is not original, I'm saying both versions are original) that's like saying a song in a film that was written 30 years earlier is the original, but it's not always that way!!!!
okay listen little girl, the lion king is a MOVIE not a CD!!!!!!!!! this song was NOT in the MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!! a DISNEY MOVIE never had this song in it!!!!! NOT ORIGINAL!!!!! got it, get it, GOOD!
Okay, so lets just say (for the sake of ending this worthless conversation) that this isn't the original. It's still a different version of the same song, released at the same time, written by the same writers, who performed it as well.
@someonespecial1994 actually, I agree with ThatsGoodTellivision, both the songs are original works of art. this song is just Elton John's version of the song used in the movie. oh, and the cd that's being discussed is the album for the movie. the producers of the cd included Elton's version because it provided a different look at the same song.

The assortment of instruments and background singers sounding like the Beach Boys makes this song seem like it's performed on a beach.
