I love her as I love old Nightwish, but she is not trained to be an opera singer, her voice and her technique wouldn't be enough for opera standard. She chose to be a metal singer, with classical voice impostation, yes, but not an opera singer. Opera isn't just a kind of music, it needs a totally different way to sing... even opera singers would find hard to sing modern songs, it's normal, the versatility has some natural limits.

@3F93 Yes, Tarja can sing classical arias. You can find "Solvejg's Song", "Saf, Saf, Susa" and others here, in Youtube, including a rendition of the "Libiamo". I never said she could sing an opera, or that she could stand up to an opera singer, because she cannot, once she decided to go to this style, which is just too different from opera. But yes, she can sing arias, and do a pretty good job with these arias.
