  • My memory may not serve me well, but I believe this was about the time Joel Robert won the championship (with a broken ankle?). Roger De Coster and Joël Robert were the MotoX riders in that day. I still wonder what they would have done on these newer machines we have now. The bikes they rose were just plain inferior to what we have now. Three inches on travel was a big deal! De Coster is the man!

  • @bigbadbob58 Some of your memories are a little skewed. These bikes had 6" front travel and 4" rear. You had to ride more using your legs instead of all the travel, and use your throttle, picking lines, rather than just blasting around anywhere and setting shocks for a particular tracks jumps, which are artificial. All the bikes today owe these bikes as their predecessors in development, especially CZ. Suzuki copied the CZ. Robert was working with them on it in 1967.

  • And this is when we claimed to have gone to the moon.

  • @Billy982810 Get yourself a telescope and look at the U.S. flag on the moon. Are you really that ignorant that you don't think we landed on the moon in 1969? Computers existed too, even in the 1950s. They just weren't so small, or have such large capacities. You need to read more real history and science and stop relying on conspiracy theories, it seems. You really think everything today came out of nowhere , just because you were born?

  • @deaddoc Ive studied aeronautical science my whole life... No moon landing. Anyone believes it is brainwashed.

  • @Billy982810 What are you 20 years old? I don't care how much you've "studied" in your little life. What you are is a conspiracy theory addict. What you demonstrate is that nonsense can become acceptable as the general level of education declines. Again. get to a telescope and look at the US flag on the moon.

  • @Billy982810 The moon buggy is still there too. Cosmic rays may have affected the flag, but I've never heard a report of that. I have known closely, people who worked in the top levels of the space project. Anyone who lived through the period and was NOT on drugs, (and even most of them) KNOW what happened, it was obvious. What you don't know is that the communist block did everything it could to propagandize that it didn't happen, because they lost the space race.

  • @Billy982810 Conspiracy theorists like you also always fall to calling names and insulting rather than actually dealing with the subject. One of the main arguments for the fraud of the landing was that the flag ohotos showed that it was waving in a breeze, which could not exist in space. But NASA had done moon landing rehearsals in Iceland, where the best earthly moonscape exists. Those "fraud" photos are from that site. Anyone can find this information. It was even listed in travel lit

  • @Billy982810 What began the urban myth in America was a "Twilight Zone" style made for tv movie about how the landing was staged as a propaganda device in about 1971. Soft minds were taken in, but the points made in the film were easily debunked then, including the release of the Iceland data and photos. Phonies like you claiming expertise on the subject have been around for decades and the delusion is well known. So best to find a better way to spend your life.

  • @Billy982810 You are even ignorant enough to think that just because MX bikes weren't developed to the point they are today, it means that the technology for space exploration had to be too primitive to allow for a moon landing. It's more like that is where all the engineers were, and NOT in sports, until the Japanese copied the CZ and used lots of private money to improve it. You have the typical arrogance of a narcissistic,,pc gamer X gener, who can't believe elders could know more.

  • Wow...major air ! LOL

  • Real MX, by real men. '71 Moto-X de Nations 500cc. Note: the HVA guys are racing the prototype 5-speed 400 sold as production bike following year in '72, NOT 100,000 dollar specials like the Suzuki. HVA did race titanium/magnesium specials in '73-'74, but designs went into production in '74/ '75, with the fab 5/6-speed MAG-series. HVA mostly raced what they sold, Jap production bikes only LOOKED like the works specials.
