  • lol it gets confusing when it goes into 6/8

  • their percussion section over powers the whole thing. They need to tone it down other than that its really good

  • Memories, I played this song at a Junior High Music festival and all 4 songs from the band section where stuck in my head for about a year, actually, I think they still are

    o-o it's okay though that's a good thing >w<

  • hahah nervous for this thursday sparks middle school is playing this song in this quit place and beyond the seven hills at the band festival im nervous because ive never playd in front of a judge before

  • Love this song! Play it on my trombone, playing it to be judged sometime next week, in the 6/8 section I would like to hear a little more low brass playing the grace notes (think they're called that) and the low brass quarter notes could be a little shorter. Then ending was a bit soft, but otherwise it was beautiful! :))

  • cool im a tronbone and where going to p[lay this at alcovy high school this tuesday

    :))

  • Just Played This Exact version last night. What grade is playing this

  • I have a solo in this song.I play snare.I get a solo at the 6/8 time switch.

  • @ACECoaster54 got any tips cuz i'm playin snare too

  • @romensaichi at first, leave out the rolling notes. Then once you get comfortable, then add the rolls. It's development

  • Am i going to be hated for my constructed critisism? i dont know, but the tone could use some work, could be the recording device and the rolls could be a little more clean and I can tell alot of dynamic range. Sorry if you hate me now, but thats my thoughts. I do however LOVE the pyramid of sound you got going there.

  • i play tenor sax

  • The name of the tune is "The boys of Wexford"

  • i love this song im a first clarinet and my band is using this song and engines of resistance to audition 4 disneyland i hope we make it

  • Ah, how many flutes in that? They're inaudible. I played flute in that. So many highs, what? High Eb? I can't hear it! *flails*

  • nice jobb percussion way to play it load wooooo!!! i play crash in this song at my schooll!! i though i was good but then i heard this it was amazin!!

  • very good but on D when the time changes the trombones need to be louder and the snares need to be softer.and on G trumpets get out of the way play soft it is not your melody its the trombones. play short quarter notes. believe we got #1 on the festival.

  • agreed but instead we should play louder

  • COUGHBOASTINGCOUGH :|

  • Snares way too loud!!! i can barely hear the low brass because of them

    Very good 1st trumpets

i can never hear the baritones @ D for some reason

if you played this @ like festival or something i would had gave a 3 ;(

  • tommorow, we are gonna play this, serengeti dremas and pevensey castle at contest. my band teacher said that he would wear a tutu to school if we got a one

  • we played this in competition, got a 2

  • We've done this one before I think...at any rate it would've been a good recording if the sound were coming from both the left and right sides. As I hear it, there's only sound from the right side...

  • Here's the first verse - If you can sing it ;)

    The Boys Of Wexford

In comes the captain's daughter, the captain of the Yeos,

Saying, "Brave United Irishmen , we'll ne'er again be foes.

A thousand pounds I'll give to you, and fly from home with thee

And dress myself in man's attire, and fight for liberty!"

We are the boys of Wexford, who fought with heart and hand

To burst in twain the galling chain, and free our native land!

  • The name of the tune is

'The Boys of Wexford' . It commemorates the Wexfordmen of the 1798 in south eastern Ireland . There are about 7 verses which can be sung if you're sober :)

It's possibly based on an older melody from somewhere else . Good luck with your bands efforts

  • Omg we played this in our Band Festival and got a #1! our band is soo great and we're only 7th and 8th graders but we played softer and better than this performance...but overall we did great since we are the best band in the thumb of Michigan!

  • the percussion is too loud!!

If they could've calmed down a lil yall wouldve done it perfect.

  • OMG seriously, it started playing, and i was like ZOMG what the heck, percussion cascadia!

  • lol

  • the percussion really is too loud

  • This is the funnest song ever to play!!! 2nd Clairnet in my band. Im so glad we played this, im in 7th grade and Its the funnest song ever!!

  • im i 7th and we're playing this song 4 contest its a awesome song

  • very good my band is going to play this and i wanted a look ahead of what it would sound like the only bad thing was it sounded a bit slow to be a march

  • really?

  • its a european march. american marches are normally much fastern(120 beats per min. and up) where as marches like this generally range from 100 to 108 beats per min.

  • do you play at broxton???
