  • hey the sock mod is only to make it quieter

  • no it makes the sensitivity(spl) better

  • if you look at the video where it shows you how to do it it says it makes it quieter

  • no it says it doesnt it was azurite who made that mod in the video it says it doesnt increase rebound and it doesnt make it quieter if it does make it quiter maybe by 5% because i did it with my rb2 kit and i needed 3 towels to make the kit noisless

  • or u did the sock mod wrong

  • sock mod is better than that u either suck or its the wrong set

  • my sock mod is awesome. the pads never get screwy. my only screw ups are on the kick pedal cause i spaz and miss one. this vid is not an accurate representation of the success of that mod

  • it looks like the coin mod is the best. but I can use any coin at all?

  • just use penny its the best kind and there useless :P

  • but you see I'm from norway so I don't have penny's

  • ok well then yeah ne coin but make it similar to a penny size

  • Nickels. 2 each on the red and green and 1 each on the yellow and blue.

  • guys ive got rockband.. but what is all these qm and el models?

  • if you watch azurites video he said the sock mod is only for QL sets lol

  • Frankly, I think EL sets work amazingly better than QM sets when they're unmodded. A stock QM set is terrible. Ideally, you'd want an SL set.

  • So tell me...What is this about?

You miss notes on different mods, have a cookie.

This has no point to it unless you somehow prove to us you had not missed any notes.

Overall, What point is this video???

  • my bad the coin mod is doing the best

  • sock mod is doing great

  • how do you tell what type your set is (el, qm, sl)

  • azuritereaction did say on his video what drum set you can use the sock mod on and when i saw your other video it was clear to me why the sock mod didn't work very well for you, you got the wrong set, if you watched the video azuritereaction put up cairfully you would have noticed that he said that it only works on a cirtain drum kit.

  • yeah dude the sock mod does not work for EL drums only for QM and idk about SL

  • it does work 4 sl ive got socks on them now and they prevent the double hits and stuff way better than w/out them

  • ok i recommend this for everyone , i had the rockband dampeners for the rockband drums

my drums before i put on the dampeners would always drop a note on a song

my drums pads where haning and peeling off

when i got the drum dampeners i tore off the other drum pads and put the dampeners and omg

ive only fc'd one song because my drums are now total s**t my green barely works and my other are still dropping like flies

so dont even consider buying the dampeners , they suck!

  • u guys are weird making mods my worl perfectly...and does the rock band 1 drumset works for rock band 2?

  • ofc

  • sock mod is mainly for qm but on el it will make the drums worse if not already bad

  • well it depends on what type of drums you have .

  • coin

  • a little questions, how do i know wich drum it is? all the things you say about SL,EL or any other you said?

  • Watch "How to repair/fix/mod rock band drums (coin mod)"

  • thanks

  • the sock mod didnt work for you because its not destined for the EL drum kit

if you put it on the EL kit it makes it worst

  • even though coin mod ganna make drums sound weird still the best one :P

screw the noise just matters about the accuracy

  • modding will obviously make your kit better. but it isn't all about the pads you know. if you really want to increase your score heres how: get a real bass pedal or a lighter spring to your stock!

  • I have the SL model, and the sock mod has no failed me at all, no cross talk and almost no notes aren't registered, except for the green pad, but that might be the angle that I hit it.

  • The coin mod works for almost any rock band drum model, I suggest super gluing quarters inside your drums for maximum sensitivity.

  • what mod is better for the sl model the coin or sock?

  • the coin mod wrks good

  • guitar hero drums is a little bit better than rb2 drums unless it is the iondrumset

  • I will get rock band 2 drum kit for christmas but This will do till then

  • Wow you just kept messing up with the sock mod and the regular no mod

  • He wasn't messing up. it just was dropping the notes cus it doesn't work with that model.

  • so if it was on the right model it would have worked better is what your saying

  • exactly

  • This guy sux

  • fuck you

  • at this point just buy Rock Band 2 i heard that those drums are way better anyway.

  • rock band 2 instruments arnt even out in the UK, and the game itself isnt even out on ps3 yet, so only thing u can really do is get guitar hero world tour for xbox, then get rock band 2 game, unless u already got rock band drums from arigional game, which are rubbish

  • it actually is out for the ps3 :)

  • not in the UK, like i said

  • no the RB 2 drums break really really easy

  • Man the Coin mod makes a huge difference. Close to a 40k difference between no mod and the coin mod. Very Clever. Im planing on buying this game for my ps2 and I will Look for the Serial numbers you described in your previous vid. Im hoping that the drum kits are improved some since the first releasing of the game.

  • coin mod may work, i use sock mod.. Because i have older pads? im guessing. mine is a sensor with a spring, and the thing that hits the sensor is snapped (cheap plastic), so i used glue, needs to be redone ever 2 weeks or so but if it works, it works.

  • the sock mod was meant for qm/sl drums this person has el so it doesnt work

  • again the sock mod is to lower the sound not increase sensitivity

  • the sock mod is supposed to increase sensitivity although it does slightly reduce the sound watch azuritereaction's video

  • i thought that auzres sock mod was to make it more sensitive, to make it easier to hit 16th/32 notes and stuff like that?

  • Well, we dont know if you fucked up or the drums.

  • The coin Mod always wins lol.

  • looks like the coin mod is the best one!

  • thats not consistant data retard

  • The sock mod is better than what it says here ive played maps on expert (lol i suck) and i dindnt miss a note with the sock mod, plus my drums havent ripped!......yet

  • How do you tell what model drum kit you have?

  • wtf is a coin mod

  • its when you take the drum pads off the set and then duct tape nickels to the sensors but it only works on the EL sets

  • thats quite unfair, i mean, what if the person did good with one, and didnt do as good with the other?

  • its the same person....

  • yeh... but she probably played better on the mod SHE made so more ppl whould do coin mod instaed of azures sock mod

  • OMG i thought the same thing when i was watching

  • coin mod is for EL sets and sock mod is for QM sets each set has a different flaw so you need to use different methods for fixing it

plus if you read the description(no-one does that these days)she said that she found out the sock mod wasn't supposed to be used with her set retard :P

  • the mouse pad mod is the best, i made a video about it

  • very cool

  • The way i test it is at a start of a song do a pretty fast roll, if your kit is good and mod is working it should pick up every hit. I know for a fact a kit with no mod doesn't pick up every hit.

  • cool video

  • lol, the sock mod isnt for his drum set.. thats why it doesnt work

  • Wow, this experiment is extremely flawed. First off, you probably played the song three times back-to-back, meaning the third time around your were obviously more fatigued than the first two times you played that songs. Also, you skipped fills (especially during the coin mod run, causing there to be less notes), and boosting your percentage. You should have done this in practice to remove fills completely, and play each song after resting for a bit to eliminate the fatigue. Good job though.

  • true.....buuuut i have an el set, ive tried both sock and coin mod, sock just sux ass on my set but the coin mod had me fc alot of songs++i have extra coins in each pad, after all i have drum silencers on my pads too

  • thats because yournot supposed to use the sock mod on the EL set, it just doesnt work... the EL set will only work with the coin-mod, i have an EL set and i too have been doing better

  • he probably played better on one of the others and say the mod is bad

  • I know - I was going to say that :P

  • 100:00

  • 10:00

  • ok listen the mods depend on wut set you have!!! so if he has the same set than only one of the mods will work. thats why there are 2 mods dumbasses!!!!!

  • There was a bot set on the coin mod

I can tell bcz he/she missed a few notes and the game didnt take them of his streak

  • was this u each time?

  • the sock mod is better you just either f'd up the mod or played like shit with the sock mod

  • how can you tell what model you have?

  • at the bottom of yur drums in between red and yellow there is a little part that said EL or QM and then you will know

  • on the cross piece of the red and yellow, at the end of the number it will say EL. On QM, it has 3 big holes on the blue and yellow. i don't know about the SL but if its different then those two, its an SL.

  • okay how do u know u didnt just do better on the coin mod run than the other runs??

  • so basicly your saying the coin mod is beter? and how do you do the coin mod anyway

  • The sock mod prodally doesnt work for you because you probally have an EL set. The sock mod only works on QM sets.

  • Do you have to mod anything to the EL or is it fine how it is out of the box?

  • EL kits can't stand anything on to of the pads, so you usually need to do the soin mod or sensor mod.

  • if my yellow pad doesnt work anymore and i do the coin mod will it work?

  • that depends whats wrong with your yellow pad.

  • I use the sock mod and i never had a problem with it.

I believe you made a small mistake in setting that one up

  • do both lol

  • Idk how this can be accurite since u cant play it the same twise, but there was enought difference to tell that the coin mod had worked.

  • yea

  • coin mod ftw

  • my drum set every time u hit the blue the yellow goes off. but if u hit it lightly the yellow one does not. and when ur really rocknig out ur not gonig to hit it lightly.i still have not found a way ti fix it grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

  • It Is Because Your Sticks Might Be To Heavy Or Your Drums Are F'ed Up Because The Wiring OrThey Could Be Cross Saying

  • ya i think there cross talking. but now its my red one every time i hit it like hard the yellow one goes off. and when ur rocking out u dont hit it lightly. and if i hit the edge of red pad my yellow goes off.

  • I think he has an EL sockmod makes it worse

  • GO COIN MOD MONEY MAKES everything BETTER lol

  • i think what everybody says about the EL drum set is bullshit

i have a EL and get perfect scores and everything

i think it is just the quality of the drum set you get no the model even though they all have there differences

  • post a vid with the QM model if you can please.

  • been waiting on test bids 4ever. Thanks for this!

  • This really doesn't prove anything unless you have three people of perfectly equal skill play without knowing which mod they're using.

  • hard to do with the sock mod XD

  • I agree this is BS

  • I did the coin mod for the Yellow pad on my drums, works way better then it did before thats for sure. Next up is the red and the green pads.

  • do nickels work better than pennies? my yellow pad is messed up, and i used one, then 2 pennies. either way, i still missed yellow notes on songs i used to do almost perfect on when i first got the drums, and it seemed like you have to hit it right in the dead center of the pad for it to register. maybe i'm doing something wrong??

  • Where did you put the penny, exactly? Under the sensor? above? Most of them work, but maybe you should try using foam to cushion.

  • i put them under the sensor, under the taped silver disk.. is it supposed to only work when hit in the center? they're still under warranty, so i'm probably just going to return them

  • how do i know what kind of drum set I have? pls tell

  • you can look inbeetween of the red and yellow pad at the bottom and it shood say EL or QM it depends on which drums set you have

    ther different kinds

  • the only thing is that with your type of drum set (EL) the sock mod f's it up even more.

  • whats the best mod for the sl? does anyone know? Cause I have a sl model and it fells like im missing alot of notes

  • u can only do the coin mod on a EL and sock mod on a QM, u must have a el because the coin mod is doing so well

  • I think missing notes on the other mods(except coin mod) were on purpose....I think...

  • i got an EL version..and i think ill go for the coin mod...i dont like to have socks strapped to my kit..the coin mod is invisible and works better thx for the upload...its a pretty good comparison!

  • coin mod is the best

  • the sock mod only works for the stock kits(i think) but the one with 3 cricles under the blue and yellow pads...it wouldnt work for the EL kit

  • the no mod works fine with me...i guess thats cuz i just try and beat my best scores and not go for 100% all the time...but my pads are great...get QM's...the ones with 3 holes on the bottom of each pad

  • Thats gay bc you might do well one time then just screw up thenext so its pointless!

  • the coin mod sucks.. same with no mod.. but sock mod rules.. u just make the sock mod look like its shit

  • what is a coin mod??

  • Watch the other vid dipshit.

  • He's not responsible for shit you did.

  • Congratulations, retard. You can't perform a simple mechanical procedure.

  • that has nothing to do with the coin mod retard, youve obviously been hitting it to hard

  • there little hairline looking kinda crack so im not hitting them to hard i cause guess i didnt tighten it enough srry for h8ing on this guy guess it was my fault srry once again =(

  • sorry fo cussing you out.

  • he warned you, you fucking dumass. and other people who cares what 'VIITwistedIIV' says he has broken drums pads. VIITwistedIIV your a fucking loser.

  • god damn alwin are you fucking retarded?? the dude apologized for fuckin up, give him a break dumbass, i'm so fuckin tired of people on youtube talkin shit on people for fuckin up, i know your special education ass isnt perfect so quit actin like a bitch

  • that comment was a reply to his old one. and ya i guess im sorry for cussing out VIITwistedIIV. my coment must of came late.

  • All of you guys are dipshits. EL pads are always prone to cracking eventually and any sort of coin mod will shorten the life of the pads no matter what.

  • Sorry about the old comment, didn't read the edit at the bottom, only the top part before I posted =X

  • The sock mod is meant for Qm sets only, which is why it performed so badly.

  • i have the sl mod which mod will work best

  • To everyone saying bout the QM thing, I think even if you just compare no mod to coin mod, I think it makes a hell of a difference.

  • whats a coin mod?

  • coin mod is when you peel of the pad, and theres a sensor that vibrates to make the pad activate, you put a nickel over it and then put the pad back, it makes the drums more sensitive because the piece thats vibrating is closer to the pad now

    Thats what coin mod is

  • i wanna do the coin mod now too..well maybe wednesday..

  • For it to be compared fairly, you should be a 100& note song, not half, you just sucks and a re a noob, find someone else to play.

  • "you just sucks and a re a noob"

    shut up.

  • wow i bet it 3 hours to find something to say. hmmm le me see. SHUT UP.

  • "wow i bet it 3 hours to find something to say" that doesn't even make sence, graduated high school b4 getting on your parents computer.

  • don't you mean "graduate" high school

  • dont you mean sense? and before?

  • Sock mod kicks major ass i just duct taped 2 socks instead of 1 cause im a heavy-as-hell hitter cause im used to real drums and i went from medium to expert after learning how much of a difference it made

  • i don't think this comparison helps, because you used overdrive so its nothing

  • so let me get this straight:

coin mod makes it more sensitive

sock mod makes it less sensitive

coin mod works for either drum models

sock mod only works with QM sets

Please reply and tell me if im right or not

  • Why would the sock mod exist if it makes the drumset less sensitive? He used that mod for an EL so no wonder it didn't work properly.

  • what is the best mod for an EL drumset?

  • Coin. Duh.

  • coin mod is better for under-sensitive drums, sock mod is better for over-sensitive drums or drums that double-hit a lot

  • WTF is a QM and an EL model?

  • QM models have three holes in the bottom of each pad.

  • How do you know what the models are?

  • On the sock mod comparison.. you might have an EL set, sock mod doesn't work on those it damages your drumset.

  • can we do theses mods with the ps2 drums and what's the differnts

  • the comparison is moot... u could've just played worse with one...

  • I was thinking the same thing, but if you look, it actually does seem like he's trying to hit all the notes. Nice job on the comparison btw :)

  • AND THE SOCK MOD ONLY WORKS ON A QM SET HE USES THE EL SET MEANING THAT IT MADE IT WORSE

the mods to use are sock for qm and coin mod for el set the sl should not require a mod.

  • Yeah, thats what i was thinking, I would much rather use the sock mod on my QM then take apart an EL set.

  • Coin modding is simple man. Just pop the tops off tape down some coins (I used nickles, they are the perfect size).

  • Read the whole info. He didn't know that at first. I just coin modded mine and trust me I really do believe it makes it as good as this video.

  • YEAH i just read the edit. But still this is not the best video to compare the performance of each mod due to the fact that he missed that info.

  • this isnt very trustabl u had a robot it would be more accurate.

  • sock mod is the best in my opinion..it picks up on rolls very well..you made it look bad because of a HUMAN mistake...sock mod is easily reversable even though it looks shitty.

  • it depends on what set you have, i have tryed all of the mods on mine and mine works best with the sock mod, the coin mod is different for a different set

  • does anyone know a good mod for sl??? haha i had an el but since i sent my first set back for replacement ive sl the last two times! and it sucks too.
