  • THIS IZ SPARTHAA

  • what do you use for your terrain? i dont know what to call it but is it foam or what? :) thanks and great vids!

  • @KrochInSky I created a cardboard shell then coated it with paper towels dipped in plaster of paris.

  • how big a botle of water was that

  • @FamilyArth I think I used two sixteen ounce bottles. Woodland scenics sells them only in one size and I used two of them.

  • Great vid but the really blue water doesnt go with that scene

  • did you sell this one?

  • did you sell this one

  • do you have any 1/6 scale projects? I'm going to start making small stages for my 1/6 scale soldiers and since its such a large scale i'm planning on keeping it really displayable since it involves more detail and space is an issue.

  • haha you must have alot of time to do this

  • uber vids man.

    Are you from boston?

  • were is the wild water that destroys the persian battleships ?

  • I'm subscribing. I'm making a Mines of Moria Diorama for a game I just bought, this will be very helpful.

  • thx ofr all of your vids man , you give me a lot of idea and your vids help me a lot of time !

  • and give them helmets of spartans

  • this would make a great vivarium background for a lizard. When we make fake rock structures we cover it in tile grout, it gives a very realistic rock-feel!!

  • cool but one big mistake : you forgot the wall next to the "hot gades"

  • this is sparta !!!!!!! i love this moment

and this movie is so cool

  • Plz help me i have 2 days until the deadline for a class project and i need to know how long it takes for the hydrocal to dry on a tiny diorama, as big as your 6 part tutorial 1

  • with the water thing, if you aimed a fan toward your diorama while it was drawing, would it simulate waves?

  • YEs, this is a great technique that people use to simulate waves. You can use a fan or a hair dryer. it works well.

  • heh you should have put blue ink in there so its blue tinted.... and you should have put some Persian's in the water and someone kicking them in there heh that would be awsome... because of this video i am finishing my dwarfing castle inside a mountain it will be awsome :) i will make some videos i hope >=] its awsome

  • Some great ideas, thanks! I look forwad to your vids, have fun!!

  • could you put fish in between layers of the water?

  • The layers are pretty thin but yes, you could embed tiny fish in the layers. Would look good.

  • @epicfantasy lol u should make a fish tank out of it XD

  • Great idea!

  • @epicfantasy or just get a real fishtank

  • can u make more videos on the massive castle project with the like mountain with waterfall and stuff thx.=)

  • have u got a lisp and dont take this as an offense but im just wondering?

  • Bit of a lisp and a heavy new england boston accent :)

  • dude your the best at doing this kind of stuff :D

  • Thanks! Wait until you see what I have coming up (As far as dioramas are concerned). It is going to knock your socks off!!

  • i would be interested in making dioramas

but i would have no experience and no proper equipment to make it

could a decent diorama be achieved by using some basic paints, cardboard, paper mache and mos? ;p

please respond in a PM thankyou very much

  • Absolutely! And most definitely! Go for it and have some fun. Let your imagination soar.

  • Thanks! I used it on one of my models and it all went... you could say "swimmingly" : )

  • You are very welcome !

  • I heard woodland senics water can become milky.

  • hmm, I am not sure. SO far its ok in my diorama. Guess I will monitor it and see. Only been a few months now.

  • Hey Epic,

I vist your website and watch all your videos and would like to say first great job.

I have a question tho on the undercoat for the water.

Would acrylic paint work because, I would like to avoid using the pricy woodland scenic paint I have stocked up.

    Thanks

  • HI and thanks for watching my videos. I got a new one coming today on using cork to make rubble in a diorama. I am pretty sure acrylic paint will work perfectly well under the water. Just make sure it is nice and dry. You might want to do just a little test run to make sure.paint a small patch with your chosen color, let it dry, then pour on a little realistic water to see if the paint bleeds. I think you will be fine though always a good idea to run a little test. I think i used acrylic blue.

  • Thanks :)

  • you have inspired me with your amazing dioramas. can you check out my vietnam prototype i made today its not the best but ok for a first. thanks u rock!!!

  • Thanks and have fun. Where can I view your vietnam prototype?

  • its on my channel now it had some trouble uploading but its working now, plz tell me what you think of it because im thinking of doing either a ww2 paciffic or vietnam kinda thing maybe a ww2 europe theme maybe. anyway tell me what you think

  • wherer did you get that realistic water from???i need it for my castal projet

  • A company called woodland scenics makes it. Train hobby shops sell it and I just buy it online from Amazon

  • That stuff shrinks like crazy.

  • whats the liquid called?

  • It's called "Realistic Water" made by a company called Woodland Scenics. Pretty good stuff.

  • You sure can, Its a bit tricky and you have to go real slow.

  • hey, i like your tutorials but i was wondering you should make warhammer 40k terrain and all. iv been trying to find tips on how to make good terrain for warhammer 40k so yeh, I suggest maybie starting on some 40k?

  • you should make a stopmotion with this

  • That is a great idea. The diorama is big enough to be a whole scene. I should do it and have given it some thought. Maybe I will, not sure. So many projects, and so little time.

  • where can i buy that "realistic water" solution or is there an alternative for it? I am from the Philippines and I'm not sure if I can get it here. Thanks

  • tingnan mo sa ebay

  • Amazon

  • Wow! 300!

You must start with warhammer, you could make profesional terrain for warhammer!

  • Thanks! Warhammer would be cool to do. I don't know a lot about it though, they play games right on the terrain?

  • yes, Thats the fun part cuz you can make your own terrain. : )

  • It would be awesome to make a really big and really complex diorama. It would add a lot of complexity and excitement to the game! I probably should put it on my to do list!!

  • yeah! It would be awesome!

  • I have yet to tint the Realistic Water but it is water soluble so it should be easily tintable. I will have to give it a try at some point.

  • Is that water product tintable? For like a muddier effect?
