Mini Bike running on wood... The project continues!

4 stroke. In order to do a 2 stroke with woodgas it would have to be oil injected.

looks gas from gazifier is prety explosive, that mini bike accelerate fast.

i heard that wood gas have 7 times les power than methan, nathural gas ?

It does have less power than gasoline but is pretty close to propane. I have had a propane tank on the same minibike before and had similar results. Everything I have read attributes the loss in power to the additional nitrogen with woodgas. Some of that power loss can be recovered through compression and timing.

The filter is a pretty bad-assed arrangement of oil, cloth, fiberglass, and some pipes. I did lose some sleep over it but it burns friggin clean now.

Basically a gasifier is loosley used to describe the device sitting on the trailer behind the minibike. Through incomplete combustion and some high temp chemical processes, it is converting the wood to a combustible gas for use in the engine. The technology has been around for 150+ years and was most popular during WWII. You should check out some more, pretty cool stuff.
