Casey did not rely on his guitar too much. I'm so glad he showcased his talent with the guitar or we would not have known how good he actually is on guitar. AI talks about the "whole package" and then give you 90 seconds for a song. Kara felt like she had to say something negative because she had acted like such an idiot and Simon knew that Casey had played the bar scene for years so there's his big insight. Gag.

I think it's stupid to say that honestly... no disrespect, but you can think of some of the best vocal performances on AI, Adam Lambert's "Mad World", Fantasia's "Summertime", David Cook's "Billie Jean", and even "Hello", Archuleta's "Imagine"... and Casey's guitar playing exceeded all of those vocals imo, not just on this song, but on plenty of his songs. Casey is more of a guitar player, but he can sing really well as well.

I'm not saying that his vocals suck. He's a great singer, but the guitar was what stood out in his performance, not his voice. IMO, that's not what American Idol is or should be about. Lee and Crystal play guitar during their performance, but in the end, their voice is what the judges love.

Rather odd that during Casey's audition, Kara said, he's got a great voice and Simon said, it doesn't matter. Doesn't sound like much voice love to me. Also, as I stated before, Simon knew this is what Casey did for a LIVING and he tried to discredit him on national TV as being a lousy bar singer, wanna be rocker. Shame on him! That's hitting a contestant in the bread and butter pocket and that's not right.

Casey got it-he's like a dimond in the rough. He will make it to be heard. He has a sweet soul and very talented in many ways
