Wow coldplay? Really? In 20 years are kids gonna want to play music like them? Are they influential? Green day is way more influential along with the foo fighters but the killers, and coldplay? They sound just like every other alternative crap today. Oasis...maybe but still goes back to the Beatles. U2 great in the 80s and 90s but sold-out hardcore aside from 2 singles.

talent: good feeling for music and rythm. The first period I listened to coldplay I was not aware of their talent. I started to listen the killers and more bands. But after some months when I returned to coldplay I became conscious of coldplay's 'talent'. chris martin knows what music is, and so does matt bellamy. and FORGET 'coldplay uses autotune', according to chris martin they are absolutely AGAINST autotune, they NEVER use it. So vocals are not the best part of coldplay.

The truth is, most US bands sound very similar and I can think of very few that are experimental and/or technically musical enough to make into a list like this. I like many of the bands you mentioned but they are not nearly as talented or pleasant to listen to as what you describe as "alternative".

...you know..this was arguably U2's worse decade...i refuse to believe that U2 at its worse is still better than Incubus' best. Incubus released Morning View, A crow Left of the Murder, Light Grenades and Monuments and Melodies...and you mean to tell me they arent on this list? rubbish. and its quite debateable that Silversun Pickups and Kings of Leon makes this list despite gaining noteriety in the second half of this specific decade. Very strong list of bands. Killers, Coldplay, Muse..no question..they were the new bands that owned. Foo Fighters were just as good in the decade as they were in the nineties, maybe even better....the only band I would replace is U2..huge fan..but their 2000-2009 catalog, to me, pales in comparison to their eighties and nineties work. Overall, great list though..just replace U2 with, say Incubus, whose 2000-2009 catalog is very impressive. They came into their own as a band.
