  • what a bleedin bully.....the cheek of that vocalist driving the bass.drums and gutar....just not cricket...i say

  • By far my favorite Police song. Makes me want to ride my motorcycle waaaay too fast...........

  • Huge sound from a 3 piece and Mr Copeland is sure havin a whole lot of fun

  • Where's the BASE?

  • IMPRESIONANTE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 30 years ago today :) Copeland is god.

  • @wannyyydilliamsss God is with caps G

  • Stew kind of steals the show.

  • I love the tension this band had. That's what I think made them special.

  • 'Tis a mind blower on acid.

  • Left handed splash hit!!! Lol!!! luv ya Stewart!!!

  • Talent oozed out of their pores, but their egos absorbed it.

  • @ pestidrummer

    Shaddap bitch!

  • Stewart is playing that Bo Diddly downbeat throughout the whole song and it's not just the riff at the end.

  • who fucking cares?

    jam power

  • finest example of the band's grooveability

  • Andy sounds really off in his rhythm playing here. Sloppy fretting of chords, etc.

Maybe it's the tempo he's struggling with?

  • @larkydozer I can't help but agree. The studio version of this is great but pretty subpar job by Any here which is completely out of character.

  • @Nigelxman

When playing live with delay pedals.... especially those analog ones typical of this time period... it was easy to get a nob turned slightly so that your delay setting wasn't right for the tempo.

I think there's more than that going on here, but I'm trying to give Andy the benefit of the doubt.

Maybe he's on too much of something?

  • I think you're exactly right Larky. It sounds like a delay setting issue. And usually sounds incredible live. Have you by chance read his book , "One Train Later"? Fantastic read. The guy's had such an interesting life and he's a great writer. Cheers.

  • @Nigelxman yeah Andy still is playing the normal part, but it doesn't have that slapback echo effect like in the studio which gives this song his character. As the sole guitar player in a band myself just like Andy, I can't tell you how much it sets you off when a pedal malfunctions. It usually puts me in a funk and I end up screwing up a song left and right, plus when you are the only guitarist, the mistakes pop out much easier to an audience.

  • they were such an amazing live-band!!!

    can't be said often enough. ; )

  • Hey Bo Diddley!!!

  • This is really something. 3 instruments filling up everything, plus Gordon's singing. Spectacular.

  • stewart's on fire on this, one of the best police clips I've seen.

  • Good and very well cocaine

  • i love the police !!!!

  • copelands octobans sound fantistic on this clip

  • Quite possibly they're best song

  • What?-- you don't like Tea in the Sahara? That's a rocker!

  • @logic1968 I agree!

  • @logic1968 yes its among my favourites

  • great groove....LOVE IT!

  • This is so far beyond the pop-machine Police that the band became after Ghost in The Machine. Such a hot band.

  • YES!

  • es un poco oscura al inicio pero sube de intensidad en el último tramo, mejor que en el CD.

  • I love how Stew will not let his drums take a breather.

  • sweet bass! love you sting

  • ruddy brill...copeland lets rip

  • Its one of his songs I think too.

  • Great.. Good stuff indeed.

  • I remember back in the days, when we use to watch the "Rockpalast Shows" on German TV. Long nights, lots of bear and dope. Good times. No Britanny Spears in sight.

  • the police ruled around this time--they were on a mission and conquered rock music as the best trio of all time... stewie is the best...

  • The very best songwriter and the very best musos

  • nice. smooth

  • That's Bo Diddley. Sorry.

  • Awesome clip, only let down by a lack of bass sound. It's a terrific performance and the Bo Didley section at the end is simply electrifying. Great stuff

  • What can anyone say?

    The police were the shit!!!!!!

Contact, Too much information, So Lonely...

    One word...

    Synchronicity.

  • *ahem*

    not 'were', ARE- the shit

  • Best power trio of all music history, without any doubt.

  • I think the same, this power trio is very grand

  • Rush is also a very amazing power trio.

  • Great.. Really rate deathwish live as a song that shows the best of their individual talents..love the bass here and The Bo Didley reference

  • Good stuff. Do you have the rest of this concert to post?
