What it comes down to is peeyong is a fantastic guitarist. But he failed the piece by speeding up from adrenalin or whatever. It's not that he can't do it, that's not the issue, it's that his next obvious step as a growing musician is to play in time.

Yes, I'm able to play it... and he needs to hear that criticism. A huge portion guitarists have trouble playing in time and it makes them sound terrrible (like they are noodling, and it's very off putting). A guitarist is responsible to play with good rhythm, and if they can't, they need to make that a priority in creating music instead of learning a bunch of mis-timed notes.

its not about getting notes right off the dot and memorizing just one virtuoso's sheet. thats where guitarists are wrong when they try with all their might to copy a song. its about YOUR way, not others.

@typedeaf no its not a orange custom jem.its a desert yellow 777dy jem,whats happen is its been left in direct sunlight which screws up the desert yellow(neon) paint and turns a nasty orange colour.

Face-melting. You are clearly a virtuoso. I had a master-class with Steve Vai last year. He was incredible. It was inspirational just to be in the same room with him. I learnt alot from his close-up demonstrations. He was asked to perform this piece, but declined as he wasn't fully 'warmed up'. He told me later that he simply couldn't remember it as it was over 20 years since he last played it.

Thank you for playing it so well. You are an inspiration to us all.

To do the last note you push the string down onto the neck pickup so it acts like a fret, thats how vai does it anyway

@ZeskoWhirligan I read that the last note is easier with an artificial harmonic on a telecaster somewhere in a forum (jemsite?). I think it has something to do with the neck pickup positioning and the lack of 24 frets... Maybe bumblefoot thimble technic would work also...

this is a very old and beat up ibanez jem 777dy.these were made between 1987-91 i have the vine version of this but mine has been well looked after and the yellow is still very vibrant.if this were my jem id be sending it to a luthier to get the neck cleaned and body resprayed,but maybe he likes it looking beat up,some people do.
