  • FOETUS INC. is brilliant... And the Movie also.

  • amazing freak

  • Kern definitely had his pulse on the punk rock underground scene of the 70's & 80's. It's all here in his style!!!

  • Spastic homeboy at 1:00 looks like Seinfeld on meth,

  • A lesson for what happens when you turn away love and a metaphor of how the artist sometimes sacrifices his lower self.

  • OK Mister Mumps! My apologies for being such a rude jerk!

I guess I'm just a sucker for the Industrial Scene and liked these movies in my youth so i guess it's a retrospective thingy, however, I digress!

You make a good point! Within the realms of horror/alternative and punk movies - there was more classical stuff kicking about!

However, no-one came as close, in terms of Warholian/Punk/Horror/Porn as Kern did, no matter how pretentious or all consuming it turned out!

    It was inspirational.......

  • @ MisterMumps!

Go back to your Hip Hop/ American Idol CD colllection cause that's obviously where your taste in music lies!

  • There is nothing wrong with hip hop...

  • There is everything wrong with Hip-Hop! It is a soundtrack for disillusioned young romanticists (mostly young girls between the ages of 15 - 21!)

It is so full of "Woahs" and "Woohs" that it makes my ears bleed!

But I guess you are more of an expert on this than I am! (Hip hop's all noise to my ears and I just wished it would shut the fuck up and fuck off!)

  • That's not hip hop that's mainstream stuff. If you think that's hip hop then perhaps you should go back to your suburb and be hidden from other cultures.

You are a good example of every thing wrong with music today.

  • Fuck off Gmancrap! You talk shite!

Why are you even on this channel, defending hip-hop?????!!!!

  • Why are you on here insulting hip hop?

    Learn to spell.

  • @Gmancrap nor right.

  • Cool.

  • Did you find out what song it is?

  • Most of these "No wave" fucks were talentless hacks.

  • It was more about ego and image and less about any real skill of engaging merit or substance. That whole "Cinema of Transgression" was utterly worthless, snotty, stupid, pretentious, egomaniacal morons. The No Wave bands all really shitty. Even that whole "Knitting Factory" avant music scene crowd makes me vomit, people like John Zorn/Naked City, Fred Frith, etc. and their idea over form irritating muzak, all the Sonic Youth and Swans guitar noise junk, too, Complete shit. Fuck the avant NY scene

  • My mom was part of this scene, it was important for this whole "Film movement" to happen but most of these films were pretty fucking bad.

  • Who was your Mom?

  • Haha well she wasn't THAT big, but she used to be into this stuff so was my video production teacher.

  • Without the "avant NY scene", as you so glibly put it, there would be no secondary music scene in the world today!

Perhaps you should go back to church and listen to your "Winger" CD's!

You obviously have no comprehension of the history of the alternative music and movie scene!

I guess your favourite all-time movie is perhaps some French-Fart au de toilette piece of pompous crap that posh birds dig and you use as an excuse to shag them (while you empty their bank account!)

  • I know and met all of these people, I am in a Nick Zedd film, I know what I am talking about. The NYC scene was always derivative and what it influenced, in my opinion, is garbage, you're entitled to your opinion, why be a rude jerk? The fact is, there were FAR more interesting and skillful and horrific experimental music scenes and styles preceding as well as done during the time of NO WAVE that deserve greater attention than NO WAVE but are still more obscure.....

  • .....There are tons of extreme, sexually pathological horror films made throughout the world during the 60's and 70's that are infinitely more subversive and intense and fascinating than any of the Cinema of Narcissism..err, I mean Transgression...lol...ones.......Shut up, I DO know what I am talking about.........

  • Any form of art takes effort and time! How would you like to be condemned for your efforts in your field of employment or creativity when you have spent enormous amounts of time, energy and money to get there beyond all the mainstream crap that is never-ending and all consuming!

If you are a true artist, and financially successful then you are unbelievably fucking lucky!

  • It is on the foetus album sink. It is called diabolus in musica

  • Originally it was recorded under the name Foetus All Nude Review. The Foetus album sink has a bunch of his obscure stuff that was recorded under the fifty million names he went by back then. Very much worth every penny paid for it.

  • Could anyone tell me what the name of the Foetus/JG Thirlwell track in this film is?

  • mein Gosh

  • reminds me of testsuoh

  • back in 1985, david wojnarowicz created a flyer where he presented the "manhattan love suicides" series as follows: "they lived the worst death of all, they were in love. [...] at last! a filmmaker who is not afraid to tell the truth about love as the living hell it is"

  • a terrific david wojnarowicz!!

  • is great !!!!!

  • You can find his stuff on ubuweb- there are a few that youtube would be a bit too prudish to make available. I saw one of his films in a L.E.S. garage in '84.

  • amazing. he was really good! I love his short movies. esp. this one. The Evil Cameraman is great as well. thumbs up

  • How to live with an artist???+ ***grinz*****

  • Fucking weird....but, fucking awesome!

  • terrible

  • Like your taste in music and art.

  • @Gmancrap Like your needy insults.

  • "Needy"?

  • @Gmancrap Anyone who throws a shitload of weak comments in a thread insulting people based on "I'm the shit, you're not" is pretty much in need of attention, yeah.

  • That makes me "Needy"? You still haven't explained what you mean by saying that.

  • @Gmancrap hahah i don`t know. How much more explanation do you need? I explained the hell out of it.

  • The definition of "needy" is: "Lacking the necessities of life; very poor" or "Characterized by poverty". No where does it say "weak comments in a thread". So, I believe you don't know how to use the word correctly.

One, I am not poor. Two, I am living fine. Three, I don't live in poverty. You quite actually have no clue what you are talking about.

  • @Gmancrap No I'm well aware that language can be used as one pleases. Don't shit yourself please! But as far as language's use for our communication right now, "needy" can be used to represent your attitude. Who the FUCK says the word is restricted and reserved for its use on a person's quality of living? Very narrow definition. I reject the official bullshit here. Oh and thanks for feeling the need to degrade my videos by arguing personal taste like a basic idiot.

  • You mean like you degraded this video by leaving "terrible" on it. I simply wanted to see if you were any better at what you did. Perhaps I was wrong and you truly do have a right to feel superior. I was wrong. You are god awful (sorry) at making music. Embarrassingly bad might I add.

Also, I don't use the word chair to describe a "weak comment in a thread". Words are made for a reason, to communicate. Not to change the meaning with silly youtube comebacks.

  • @Gmancrap One example of how narrow your language interpretation is can certainly be found in your reaction towards me writing "terrible" on a video and thinking that I meant to be displeased with it. You need to go around more and expand your understanding of human expression.

Oh, and too bad you think my music is horrible, we could have been friends:(

I really give a fuck what you think of these noisy jams.

  • I don't want to be friend with you. Anyone who leaves "terrible" like an upset child without even stating why he/she dislike the video clearly isn't a person of depth or quality. After all, you really are someone to bash on other peoples works of art when you can hardly play an instrument yourself. I don't exactly understand what yo mean by "go around more" so I won't touch that.

You don't know anything about noise music or "jams" so let's not go there.

  • @Gmancrap Your friends must suck ass if this is the way you see the world. Oh well. Keep it up chef Ramsey.

  • Right, well you have a pleasant day.

  • Right, well it appears you no longer have anything logical to say and this conversation is now over. Have an excellent day.

  • @Gmancrap Hahaha logical is your favorite word ain't it. Shame you started the Ad Hominem, took away your credit there...

  • I don't want to be friend with you. Anyone who leaves "terrible" like an upset child without even stating why he/she dislike the video clearly isn't a person of depth or quality. • huo!

  • David Wojnarowicz was great in there :)

  • love the foetus soundtrack

  • cheers for this...any chance of uploading every Kern short?

  • Awesome.

  • HAHAHAHA i love it. extremely cool and funny
