  • hank the 3 sucks hank jr is the shit

  • Are you nuts? He re-invented himself. As only talented people can successfully accomplish .Sing on Hank Jr. & Hank III .

  • when he fell off the mountain and got all his scars 2 other things happened that day 1 he lost his mind and started thinking he was a rock star instead of a country singer 2 he lost his voice

  • would this be the late 1960's?

He performs pretty much the same medley in a duet with Tammy Wynette from the early 70's, also on YouTube. It's excellent if you haven't seen it.

  • What people don't seem to get...Hank Jr COULD do that trademark Williams "twang"....but he'd have never made a name for himself if he hadn't taken advantage of his own different (much more capable) voice. Jr was an absolutely amazing vocalist...he could get low with the best of 'em, and had incredible top end as well. Listen to his version of " House of the Rising Sun". On the same token...Hank 3 is his own man. Though his voice is more reminiscent of Sr., he has more to offer as well.

  • Fake! Thumbs down.

  • @JohnLawrenceCobraKai The sound and video were played back at the wrong time idiot your dumb

  • close my eyes, I can hear Hank Williams Sr all over again. I miss Hank Williams music and Johhny Cash too, whom I met back in the late 1970s.

  • @strummerocks Neil Young was a guest on the JC Show within a few weeks of this broadcast.

  • I remember watching this when it first aired. The guitar is Hank Sr.'s 1940's Martin D28 Herringbone. Right after this, Hank presented Johnny (a gun hobbiest) with a pair of pearl-handled pistols that had been owned by his father.

  • @moproducer i think Neil Young owns that guitar now, i know he plays one of hanks martins

  • @TheBLACKROSEZZ You may be correct; I think I did read where Neil Young had one of Hank's herringbones.

  • I like!!

  • wow i just like it

  • How come we have to go on Youtube to find good ol classic country music like this..it should be on CMT or other channels.but this is very nicce seein Hank and Johnny on the same stage.

  • Even though they didnt sing together, seeing Hank and The Man in Black on the same stage is amazing

  • Bocephus has such a rich thick bassy voice its just amazing!!! scanning through the radio while i'm driving and i hear half a second of hanks voice i stop and enjoy and the songs to follow don't come close to being as fun as hearing hank jr.

  • Oh yeah. this is good, thanks for posting this!

  • Jr. has a more musclar voice..lots of bass compaired to twangy nassel sound of sr. Hank williams is a legand,,great singer/ song writer..hands down. but jr. is special i believe...his voice has something like no one else

  • very cool

  • AWSOME..........just AWSOME !!!!!!

  • Great job. It's very fine to see Hank Jr and J ohnny Cash together.. I look forward to exchanging music with you! I'm Listening....The Captain.......

  • Wow!! thanks for this video!!

  • Wow! He sounds just like his old man!

  • No he doesn't

  • @brockhires you oughta hear Hank III (Bocephus' son). he sounds like his granddaddy more than even Jr does!

  • @jeffkahl Sure, when he wants to sing something worth hearing, which he oftend does not.

  • King on the hill!

  • If I'm correct this was shortly before he fell off the mountain.

  • come to think about it the reason he probably hated his old mans music was ninty percent of dealt with his momma treating his daddy like he was worthless!!

    just a thought

  • what happened to real country

  • Jr. was under alot of pressure from the time he was a child to do his daddy's music. He hated it, and wanted to be his own artist. And it was at that point he became commercially sucessful too.

  • man what a singer he could do his dad's song so well and then turn around and do some bad ass country of his own.

  • Damn that boy can sing!

  • This is top notch country music, fuckin eh Hank Sr & Jr.

  • Don't ferget Hank III

He is one of the best - a real chip off the old bloke

  • to me this is commercial.....i like the whiskey bent and hell bound hank..... thay call me BOCEPHUS.....im a son of a gun

  • one of the best songs was standing in the shadows im 21 years old and even I wish hed go back to what he used to do

  • im only 16 and i wish he would go back to, all for the love of sunshine and its all over but the crying

  • il chante comme sont pere merci merci merci

  • He man you now what your talkin about. I love his old stuff but he wanted make his name like his daddy. Tryin to fill his shoe but thems mighty big shoes to fill.

  • Solid country gold!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is Golden! The stuff he used to do was 24 carat!

Now its cheap aluminum. No offence. But he was waaaaaaaaay better when he was doing it like this

  • Why is he an ass now? He was so good and nice back then. He should go back to what made him famous.

  • This aired on BBC Four?!?!? I didn't know the BBC had this old country on it! good stuff. thanks for posting!!!!

  • Bocephus and the Man In Black, Speachless

  • Words can't express how much I love that pre 1975 Hank Jr stuff.

I am so thankful for these pre 1075 videoes and if you have more of them please post them. Hey, there were two of young Hank Jr on the Porter Wagoner Show. Post those if you have them.

  • who said bocephus couldnt sing

  • He sings like an angel, he aint no dummy!

  • Nobody has ever said that I would hope. They would have to be deaf to think so.
