Read the files that come with the patch; it should tell you everything. Basically, all you need to do is replace the patch file, and you're done.

Same as vanilla cLoD. Once you beat a difficulty, you can cube Wirt's Leg and a tome of town portal in A1 town to open the Cow Level. Beware, as it is much harder than vanilla cLoD. However, unlike vanilla, you can open the Cow Level as many times as you like.

You can kind of base it off the level of the monsters in each difficulty approximately what level you might want to be to survive in the level. Most importantly, it's your skill that will help you survive, not your level.

Can I have this version of the game, but not mess up my D2 LoD? I still want to be able to play BNet without this screwing it up...

In other words, can I download this, install it, blah blah blah, and still be able to play NORMAL Diablo II LoD? Or... is it one or the other?

And if I get this, is it reversable? Will I get my stuff back if I do this?

Yes, it is possible to play this and keep your LoD as it is (this is assuming you don't use hacks/bots/etc; a clean LoD).

Create a folder inside your D2 Directory and place all the Median files in that folder. Next, make a shortcut of the Diablo 2 application, and place that on your desktop. Rename it, right click it, and go to properties. Change the Start In space to the folder you put the Median files in. Now if you want to play Median, use that icon. For D2, just use the normal way.

No, you cannot do Uber Trist on Median08, but there are many uberlevels Laz created for this mod, with reward charms on Destruction (Hell) difficulty. There are also several challenges you can complete to get additional charms (check the documentation to see them). To get it, go to the Median homepage (link should be in description). Find the link that leads to the download mirrors, and choose one (fileplanet is usually the most popular choice there). Then follow the readme to set up, and enjoy!

It looks like I used mostly Hawk Talons, along with either Eagle or Wolf Stance (I forget). Both of them are barbarian skills. Median XL shall be coming out soon, so it'll be interesting to see what is changed.

This is Median 2008, a modded form of Diablo 2. You have to set and start up the mod before you can get these skills, because they are just regular skills in Median. No "amulets and stuff" or anything.

Yeh, it can be hard to start off. Fortuantely, eventually you will find the game much easier to play as you level up. Just take your time and don't feel you need to rush yourself through the game (unless you are doing one of the challenges). Good luck.

Sure there are - take a look at the documentation with the game, and you'll see level and attribute challenges. You don't have to try them on your first run through the game, but it's definately something to look forward to in future gameplay.

It takes however long you are willing to put the work into the character. It is much easier in this mod to reach max level, so just keep on playing along, and eventually you'll be able to improve your character through skills/gear. Good luck.

Yeh I made this video in April I guess, and this was back before Laz made the cube larger. They were woeful times, but yeh, fortunately (especially for non-plugy users such as myself) the cube is now larger.

This was actually made with my older barb, who didn't use Runemaster because he spent all of his points before those uberskills were created, and I don't remember his def off-hand.

I use Fraps to record my gameplay.

39 is too early to be doing Death Projector; maybe try doing Travincal or the Shenk/Eldritch guys (these might be better) or something like that now. You can start doing Death Projector for experience around like 50 or so. Good luck.

I wouldn't really say I'm good at it. It's just something you pick up as you play your character, and learn strategies to take you through the game.

Thanks to the experience given by the Death Projector (uberquest), it doesn't take long at all to reach 120. I believe the experience given by the DP will be reduced come 1.57, in December or so.

What's the error message that is coming up? Make sure you aren't using a loader or anything, and that you don't have any other mods installed. Also, make sure you have made a fresh, new character once you have had the v1.56 installed and everything.

Take a look at the Death Projector uberquest (look at the .pdf's that came with the mod). This uberquest gives plenty of experience, and along with experience pots it should take you to 120 pretty quickly.

The newest patch (just released today) is now 1.55. Go download it, and enjoy! Each newer patch (the higher the patch, the newer it is) is the new patch, and you should always replace an old patch with a new patch when it gets released. Have fun.

Finish a difficulty, and then go back and do the Death Projector uberquest for that difficulty. The DP gives a lot of experience (it should get you to 120 in Destruction).

Nah, in normal D2 there was a Cow King, and killing him made it so you couldn't make the level again. Laz removed the Cow King, so you can make the cow level as many times as you wish. For leveling your sin, the Death Projector is a very nice place to level (check out the uberquest docs). If you are a low level, you can tune up the "/players x" setting and just run through areas, and you should watch yourself gain some good levels (also use exp pots). Good luck.

There are no Small, Large, or Grand Charms in the Median 2008 mod. However, there are special charms received by completing certain uberquests, which I have most and are in my inventory.

Note that this is Median 2008, a mod for Diablo 2. The skill in use that creates these "traps" are Hawk Talons, a skill in the throwing tree.
