they dont use bungee cords. they only breed the ones that lift their feet. after a few generations of breeding, they naturally do it. so dont go by a bungee cords and expect your horse to look like that....

@BreyerProductions Yep! and yes. but we split the into different classes. like, Arabian hunter pleasure, then Half arabian hunter pleasure. Only because half arabians can have different movement and so forth :)

i hope to show there this year :)) its sad people are talking about using all these training tools.... all i used is a bridle and saddle and won grand in a class, a horse wont use itself right unless it is trained right or carrying its self right witch you can not achieve with training tools....

How do you get the arabs to lift their legs like the saddleseat ones in the video?

@rugby82995 :) it's just talent. You can't make a horse trot big, they either do or they don't.

@tazbabie4 I have seen horses with odd shoes on that look like they weigh a bit and ones with chains on, I have also noticed in a lot of other videos similar to this that a lot of the horses have bell boots on by the same company. On top of that I bred arabians for a few years and none of them had that high of a trot.

@rugby82995 We put weighted shoes on to enhance their movement, but it doesn't MAKE them trot. In the last bit of this video the chestnut that won that class won it missing a shoe. She still trotted exactly the same; she has natural talent to trot big. We don't use chains on our horses and I'm pretty sure they are illegal in the Arabian world, but I don't know for certain. The bell boots do nothing but protect their feet. Not all Arabians trot big. Just those bred to and have the talent to.

@notwutyuthunk because it's not just arabian x saddlebreds... It's Purebred Arabians and Half Arabians. It can be half anything, saddlebred, quarter horse, etc.... This is our Nationals for the Arabian breed.

@rugby82995 they train them to trot like that using heavy padded shoes and bungee cords, so the horse learns to "snap" its legs like you see.

@quiterandom112 Thank you very much I appreciate it. I will buy the bungee cords and I have plantation shoes that I can have shaped to my horses hooves. I didn't know about the bungee cords but I did know about the shoes. Do you know where I can buy the Bungee cords for her?

@rugby82995 I am not an expert on the training, I ride dressage and jumpers, I just have seen some saddleseat training at barns around where I live. I would suggest consulting with an expert before training your horse :) Best of luck!

@rugby82995 I'm sorry but I have to disagree with that. Using bungee cords is illegal in the Arabian world. My advice to you is to consult a professional saddleseat trainer.

Haha ;)! Back at our old barn, Amira was able to get under the rope-gate thingy to get into the barn from the pasture, and open the door to the feed room to eat the grain. When we'd finally shoo her away, she had that, 'I know I'm guilty, but I'm not gonna admit it!' look :)
