I will always remember BEP for their first two albums......anything after that is pretty much an afterthought as being hip hop music......as for the Fergie era, I can't say they suck cause I look at most of the music not as hip hop but rather pop. I understand your point, but they didn't sell out. You can clearly see it in their interviews when they talk about it and everything. And they are still a hip-hop crew, even though I Gotta Feeling is more of a pop song, but that's it. And they always had party songs since the beginning. "Joints & Jam", "Weekends", "Go Go", just to name a few.

They want "music" to be their full time career with a good salary so they're doing it the business way, which means doing what sells and forgetting about the music... which is a bit ironic? Adding a cool token white girl to the group has helped to broaden their audience. Following the latest style of music, which is known to sell, which guarantees their music will sell. It sucks, they suck but this is what they're doing to survive because they wouldn't want to do anything else.

II definitely feel like they sold out man. I have always been a fan of the Native Tongue family and the music they all make. BEP with tracks like Duet and Fallin' Up talk about people who do music for money as damaging the hip-hop culture and now they are doing just that.
