Do You Think It's A sad Song?

  • @gibsosgerbil certainly yes this song describs about my past experience

  • Does The Bee Gees released Their Song In The Late 1960's?

  • this song is not at all brilliant but actually patronising

  • @spongebobsquarejocks Nice misspelling of "Patronizing" moron. lol

  • @SuperNoahZark

Technically you are correct if you are talking about American English, however Patronising is an English word.

    Just FYI..

  • Love the sparing use of the electric guitar, at just the right moments, for effect, ( a scream ?). Is that a triangle at the end? These guys and their producer could run a masterclass in how to write effective pop music

  • It was Xmas 1967 and I was 14 years old when I got the LP

THE VISION OF A GLOBUS bEING ROUND THEROUGH RAIN : amazing!

  • this song is like a dream in the beginning

  • THIS is the bee gees

  • For some reason, I woke up this morning with this song going through my head and just had to hear it.

Ain't YouTube wonderful? It's all here!

  • Their best ever, and they had many many classics, but oh I do so love this all these years later...

  • I could just listen to them all the time night and day. Their songs have so much meaning and wonderful melodies. I grew up with the bee gees through Jr. High and High school. Too sad that Andy and Maurice left us so soon R.I.P Andy and Maurice. You left a legacy behind that will be heard for generations to come.

  • and now I found that the world is round and of course it rains every day... I keep singing this (loud) under the shower... 40 years later still full of emotions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why do they keep me here? (an asylum,or prison?), One of their mega hits was about a man ready to be executed (GTGAMTY). Wonderful music with some very strange lyrics for guys so young.

  • God i love their music.

  • my very first single - i had to borrow to buy it. still great.

  • At six I swear I died with meningitus... I can vividly remember waking from a coma not knowing where I was. (oct 1967 isolation ward in Barnet general.) My room overlooked fields and a woods. This song played several times on a small transistor radio. At 49 I have just found it again, I remember the tune but the actual lyrics send shivers through me. Awesome... wow!! all these years. I never knew the words.

  • greats song

  • best part 0:00 till 3:14

  • l@sonicnr1 Lol but how true

  • Now I have found, that the world is round, and of course it rains everyday. Living tomorrow, where in the world will I be? tomorrow? how far am I able to see? Or am I needed here, now? I have found that the world is round and of course it rains everyday.

  • I was talking to someone today who didn't realize the Bee Gees had a life before they defected to disco. Thanks for posting! You helped me prove my point.

  • @polishkatie i like this song

  • bees gees world

  • So powerful!

  • @bartciao do you like this song?

  • one of their greatest maybe one of the greatest of 20th century

  • I always preferred this era of their music.............it has become overshadowed by their disco phase...............which is a pity. It's always that period that gets ridiculed too...............these critics should listen to their late 60's/ early 70's gems.

  • This is 30 years ago. ThankU!

  • @kautokeine

This was out in the late 60's, so it's more than 40 years.

  • Comment removed

  • @onionknight971 I so know what you mean...it makes me think back to simpler times...not BETTER, but simpler...

  • Gods of music

  • They just kept bringing out the most amazing singles, everytime a Bee Gees single came out you held your breath, just look at this album of greatest hits. Its hard to believe they were just 19 when the album came out, how many bands could manage such a wonderful collection of songs at such a very young age?

  • @NelsonsHat Yep, they were very prolific songwriters, plus, they had a certain kind of magic that's beyond words.

  • @NelsonsHat This song came out when they were 19?!

  • @CaptainDiscount Yes, some of the others were written at 17!

  • @NelsonsHat wow if my inlish where as good as yours i would say the same

my dad where a big fan of the bee gees i urnd the whole collection got everything

  • @NelsonsHat youngest age possible forever

  • Their greatest ever single, what great memories of a bygone era, fnx for adding this classic.

  • LOL my mom dedicated this song to me when i was a baby. she said my head was round like the world.

  • nice story , and now :-) is stil round ?

( je le demande gentiment bonne journee au pays de Celine Dion.)

  • Per tu Manel. T'agradaven tant els Bee Gees...

  • Every time I hear this song, I wanna cry;( It´s a damn beatiful song;)

  • @snopp9000 I know what you mean; the string arrangements at the end give me goosebumps every time! The Gibb Brothers knew how to write 'em!

  • isn't it amazing how Robin's face is the only face that didn't change through the years? I mean, got old of course, but still really similar today and then.

  • really love the bee gees this is a brilliant

  • Shakespeare: "but the rain, it raineth everyday"

  • shakespeare was so great that he is sometimes able to make words that dont rhyme rhyme lol

  • I think it's an homage to the Fool's ending song in "Twelfth Night."

  • Do you notice that Spicks and Specks was only on the original album relase and not on the CD rerelease?

  • Is ones of the most beautiful songs that i ever listened.

  • I want to dedicate to Teresa who passed away on feb.4th '08.She will always be in my heart.

  • @pappy15445 R.I.P., Teresa.

  • @pappy15445 - God bless you! Feast on your memories of her till you meet each other again in the place where no shadows fall.

  • JUST A SONG FOR DREAMERS.BEAUTIFUL

  • another great song from bee gees!!! their songs are really very soothing.

  • The purer the hearts...the purer the soul...the purer the mind...the purer the body...the lovelier the songs become...the Bee Gees exemplify such beauty as this...papaluvsu2

  • i love their background music, nice!and t heir songs 'n lyrics and ofcourse the singers..

  • great song

  • How many times can you get an album of songs as good as this? every tune stands on its merits, brilliant songwriters!

  • @TENRECORDS Not only that, but, they all sound different from one another. During that time, and even today, it was not unusual to have your new single sound just like the last one. But, the Gibb Brothers threw that idea out the window...Thank God!

  • and "of course" it rains every day

  • actually, the Electric Light Orchestra could have pulled off a cover of this tune on their first LP "No Answer",

  • Reminds me a little of Family's "Winter" from 1968..."World" creepy, haunting song until it fluffs out with the harp and bells at the very end. Listen to the bass playing! Marvelous! The julesverne sounding organ and nickdrakian lyrics "because it rains every day/why do they keep me here"...just eerily compelling.

  • nice

  • Great masters of music:The Bee Gees!!!

  • This isi truly a fine classic song, all of it is a masterpiece itself...Bee Gees rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!
