Through a whole lot of Research, with alot of Time and Prayer, by both of us known as good researchers, and my hubby known for his research and speaking engagments at major Universities, gatherings and churches, I think I may have found my maternal Mother. I love My MOM, WOW! This Makes my heart So Glad that Her Amazing Voice is still SOO Very Popular!
@SeekTruthNOWAs an adopted child, I've missed the chance of knowing Her, & I truly Wish I could've known Her, as she was forced to give me up. I know if She were alive today, she would feel and truly*say the same for me, her only child and daughter... There are 2-songs she was able to sing to me (her baby) "Maybe",,, & especially "My Farewell". My mom was clever enough and strong-willed enough, to sneak these songs past her manager.
@SeekTruthNOW I know that I will someday soon see Her in Heaven, and the wounds this old-world has left upon both our souls, will all be healed and we'll be whole, by Heaven's Light of unity within Love, and alas we'll be Free. I too love to Sing; it must be a dna*thing! I'm so happy about all these (still) millions of fans of Her's!! And I can only pray that they'll love Freedom, as much as I know we both do...
@SeekTruthNOW And if thee love for truth be found in them, they will meet us both upon that shore of Glory, and hear the 2 of us singing Amazing Grace, just for them. I'll reveal in the day, and patiently wait, for that precious meeting, so very long awaited, by the both of Us. Thank Yah!
@SeekTruthNOW What-A-Day, for all of us children & parents, to finally be with our beloved ones, and share together how we've learned to trust in Yahweh, for the Arrival of this forever mending day. HE Can Never Fail, for He Has A Father's Heart too, and for Us`All!!! Sincerely, Autumn Joplin Yssachar ;-)
Thumbs up for this (your) introduction!!! And what a treisure these documents of real talents are. I have to pay attention not to sit too long in front of my screen and listen to all these wonderful musicians.
Amy was Legendary and Janis had one unique voice God bless both Janis and Amy they were both real , I wish I had the courage and integrity they both had
with all respect Mr. uploader. Y in the hell would u mention kids like Dion or even much worse Britney on such a heavenly song by such a goddess. I am a non believer but if i had to choose a God then let it be Janis
no offense but, janis was in a different catagory than britney , or celine..she ..let you feel the pain of her life..some of her peers didn't treat her very well. Janis Lyn Joplin was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 19, 1943. She was made fun of because of her weight and her serious case of acne. She began to drink her troubles away.
In 1963, she was voted "Ugliest Man On Campus" by a fraternity, That must have been very traumatic for such a loving soul..God gets to listen now
Someone gave me an old cassette which contains a song recorded in London in 1974 (I’m not quite sure of that). It sounds like Janis Joplin but I can’t find this version on youtube. In this version b e f o r e she starts singing she t e l l s (with instrumental background music) what happened before wishing “Maybe” . Although the quality of the cassette is bad I like this version most of all.
dam so old and this is still better then 75% of music today im 19 and i can see that Joplin I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART and maybe we will rock out in the afterlife
ianabroad - Your caption for the video you uploaded has not calmed the tide of misogyny. Janis Joplin was great. She had her own thing going, and people said horrible things about her when she was alive too.
@nickhogai Because years go by and everything is altered nowadays : technology, beliefs, music and of course people.Well. If you listen to artists who appear on TV all the time, it goes without saying that you will be rather dissappointed. But you are able to find artists who love what they do and they don't do it for money... Please tell me what kind of music do you listen to and If I listen to the same music I would be happy to propose some good stuff :P
This is some powerful stuff right here. If you can't feel it, you should maybe be typing into the web browser " Favorite blues picks by Simon Cowell"!
@ ianabroad That's SOOOOOO TRUE! Her first time in the studio, the producers were listening on headphones, N when she got going she nearly blew out their eardrums!!! People close to her have said that her voice was powerful enough to be heard throughout a large stadium WITHOUT a mic! You can't get much better han that, if at all! IMHO the greatest blues singer that ever lived cuz she FELT what she was singing about...
If there are some folks out there that has not seen the movie Janis I highly recommend it. Chocked full of original interviews and complete live performances that are not interrupted like so many others..circa 1979 go to hulu dot com and search for Janis its there.
Wow! Janis is amazing, the way she just brings that audience in...I wonder if she were alive today, what she would think of the "music" being made today?
@Emo1341 janis is better then Celine . cant compare please! i would give anything to have janis back . . and celine can go ahead and Go she wont go down on history as much as janis did (:
@Emo1341 How can you say Janis is shittt,,, You need smacked up side the head dip-shit. Janis TOUCHED US. Proper management and a good publicist would've saved her from herself. What is your address and where do you hang out,,is the parking lot lighted?
@Emo1341 You wanna know why Celine Dion never sang the blues? Cause she don't know a damn thing about it, THAT'S why! Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Celine has known pain & heartache, but not like Janis. Janis Joplin WAS the blues! That bitch BREATHED pain! And again, don't get me wrong, Celine Dion has some amazing pipes.....BUT SHE IS NO JANIS!!!!!
@kajunbaby5 I love Janis...but to say she WAS the blues ignores all those who came before her, ESPECIALLY those who were (past tense as they've since passed on) African American. Sure Celine has felt pain but she pretty much was raised by her manager, had sex with her manager and married her manager so in my personal oppinion she was EXTREMELY sheltered. Janis, she was so far ahead of her time.
@kajunbaby5 Every artist is different. No one sing about the same things in the same way. That's why the world of music is so beautiful. Everyone can find something which suits to him or her:)

miss Amy Winehouse for those same talents. Two lost souls, too early!!
@JASONCALEDONIA amy winehouse was a superb artist, dont get caught up in the media whirlwind that made her out to just be an addict. she was a true artist as well.
but anyways i love how the audience is mesmerized by Janis in this vid.LOVE!!!! shes so good.
dry ass little white kids dont know soul and good music if Janis came down and slapped them in the face... id been swaying holding up an I LOVE YOU JANIS sign. now she gone, how many appreciate her?
It makes me cry and this song, its interpretation, Janis is very beautiful and think that she enjoyed the Brazil and Bahia in the village hippie Arembepe a beautiful place and I did a piece called "Arembepe" recorded in 1985 with Banda extra Luiz Caldas and as an arranger. Janis always inspires my song.
Janis inspira meu canto sempre.
Music from when music was the thing.. . . not the show or the dance or the money. . . but pure talent who just did what they loved to do. . . . would have loved to be a hippie back when it was cool to be a hippie. . . . peace and good music to all

@JASONCALEDONIA amy winehouse was a superb artist, dont get caught up in the media whirlwind that made her out to just be an addict. she was a true artist as well.

Where would Janis be today?
At the top of course,
Frank Sinatra said back in the 60's Janis was the best blues singer of the decade and he heard them all.
I was luckey to see her on Ed Sullivan as she was getting famous.
RIP Janis your still the greatest

I'd like to see the person who called her ugly, become anything more than a comment on youtube.

Music from when music was the thing.. . . not the show or the dance or the money. . . but pure talent who just did what they loved to do. . . . would have loved to be a hippie back when it was cool to be a hippie. . . . peace and good music to all
