  • Just how many times people asked me who is my favourite female singer. And when i reply "Janis Joplin", fuckers don't know who it is! -.-

  • This is the woman that Robert Plant says was the influence for his stage act. You can't argue with cachet such as that.

  • 1:53 MOM !!

  • She is so drunk ..love her

  • Thumbs up for this (your) introduction!!! And what a treisure these documents of real talents are. I have to pay attention not to sit too long in front of my screen and listen to all these wonderful musicians.

  • I would die and born again so much time ago 50/60 years

  • !!!!!MAXIMO!!!!!

  • Every single person in that audience is struck dumb. How many performers can do that nowadays?

  • Quee voooooooz poooor Diooooooooooooos!!!!!!!!!! :D ♥ musica para mis oidos :D

  • que isso.....é muito foda!!!!outro nível!

  • Incrível!!!

  • Amy was Legendary and Janis had one unique voice God bless both Janis and Amy they were both real , I wish I had the courage and integrity they both had

  • ianabroad: you're so right!

  • She puts a broken heart in her songs...and thats what makes them special.

  • with all respect Mr. uploader. Y in the hell would u mention kids like Dion or even much worse Britney on such a heavenly song by such a goddess. I am a non believer but if i had to choose a God then let it be Janis

  • Why are there so much spanish comments?

  • @miss19lolo why do you think ? ¬¬

  • @SidEskorbuto Usually they are all in english.

  • @miss19lolo It is unusual. Usually they are all in english, unless the description is in a foreign language(spanish)....

  • no offense but, janis was in a different catagory than britney , or celine..she ..let you feel the pain of her life..some of her peers didn't treat her very well. Janis Lyn Joplin was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 19, 1943. She was made fun of because of her weight and her serious case of acne. She began to drink her troubles away.

In 1963, she was voted "Ugliest Man On Campus" by a fraternity, That must have been very traumatic for such a loving soul..God gets to listen now

  • Siempre la amare <3 SIMPLEMENTE UNICA.

  • She is my hero

  • Puting "Britney" in the same place where Janis is... It is a crime!... Great song, great musician! One of my fav ever.

  • JANIS JOPLIN TE AMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Putz....demais!!!! Forever JJ.

  • Can anybody please tell me where to find this version or where to buy it and whether it is Janis Joplin or someone else.

  • Someone gave me an old cassette which contains a song recorded in London in 1974 (I’m not quite sure of that). It sounds like Janis Joplin but I can’t find this version on youtube. In this version b e f o r e she starts singing she t e l l s (with instrumental background music) what happened before wishing “Maybe” . Although the quality of the cassette is bad I like this version most of all.

  • aaa

  • "Em uma destas manhãs

    Você levantará, cantando animada

Você estará alargando as suas asas,

Criança, e alcançar, alcançar o céu,

    Senhor, o céu.

    Mas até esta manhã

    Querida, nada vai te machucar,

    não, não, não, não"

  • Nossa, essa música é linda !!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:18 WTF? So gay! ahhaha

  • My love... Janis Joplin!!

    :O

25 people don't like this video?

    maybe are losers!

  • she truly is the mother of the blues

  • wtf!!D: so so very god!:)

  • dam so old and this is still better then 75% of music today im 19 and i can see that Joplin I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART and maybe we will rock out in the afterlife

  • 25 people have no ears!!

  • dear mother this woman had a fucking asshole talent as I wished to be born when she was alive janis joplin

  • twenty five peopple need to have their ears checked, and unplug the radio.

  • She's simply the best....

  • Lindo, adoro....

  • Apart from the uploader Dissin 2 of the greatest females ever, excelent vidio of Janis

  • Any body else notice the shocked looks on the face of the young ladies in the audience?

    Kind of like WTF???

  • holy shit. that was amazing. no other words for it

  • anyone have the year on this please?

  • she's the best

  • the best stong voice i never see,you i love your voiceeeeeeeeeeeee

  • amor de mis oídos :D

  • she's fucking amazing, love her *-*

  • I fucking love this woman. Such talent.

  • ianabroad - Your caption for the video you uploaded has not calmed the tide of misogyny. Janis Joplin was great. She had her own thing going, and people said horrible things about her when she was alive too.

  • why can't nowadays musician have this "feeling"? =/

  • @nickhogai because everything is bought and sold...

unfortunately. I know that this was a rhetorical question.. haha :P

  • @louSVa ^^ I agree with you... but why can't things be like it was b4? D:

  • @nickhogai Because years go by and everything is altered nowadays : technology, beliefs, music and of course people.Well. If you listen to artists who appear on TV all the time, it goes without saying that you will be rather dissappointed. But you are able to find artists who love what they do and they don't do it for money... Please tell me what kind of music do you listen to and If I listen to the same music I would be happy to propose some good stuff :P

  • DAYMN. She got some pipes. Wht Fuck1ng Range!

  • She was very beautiful in a very unique some people never really appreciated her when she was alive.....

  • The girls look like they wanna cry......

  • awesome. oh how I wish the women today could sing like her. rip Janis

  • Oh Baby......Janis way did you leave us soooo soon.....

Screw the 24 pricks that don't love this.....

  • GODDESS come back plz... :(

  • god she was unreal. went a bit sharp on the climax of the bridge though, but inspite of that she just slays this performance.

  • This is some powerful stuff right here. If you can't feel it, you should maybe be typing into the web browser " Favorite blues picks by Simon Cowell"!

  • I fucking love this song, really !

  • And, Janis composed acouple of songs for Dion.

  • That's real music! The 70's were so bright in music, they were all awesome writers and singers.

  • @ ianabroad That's SOOOOOO TRUE! Her first time in the studio, the producers were listening on headphones, N when she got going she nearly blew out their eardrums!!! People close to her have said that her voice was powerful enough to be heard throughout a large stadium WITHOUT a mic! You can't get much better han that, if at all! IMHO the greatest blues singer that ever lived cuz she FELT what she was singing about...

  • Is that James Brown at 2:58 in the band? ushahusa

  • janis still livs in the nex live white jesus see you white love

  • janis still livs in the nex live white jesus see you white love

  • If there are some folks out there that has not seen the movie Janis I highly recommend it. Chocked full of original interviews and complete live performances that are not interrupted like so many others..circa 1979 go to hulu dot com and search for Janis its there.

супер!

  • John Frusciante and Janis Joplin sing a duet - Maybe ...

  • I love her style..her clothes, her hair and voice! True beauty

  • Wow! Janis is amazing, the way she just brings that audience in...I wonder if she were alive today, what she would think of the "music" being made today?

  • Legend!

  • You just tangled up my bowels Holy Janis!

  • @Stramboful Tangled up in bowels, didn't Dylan sing something about that LOL

  • @OrpheusIsThe1 lovely song :)

  • I love you Janis!!!!!!!!! You are beautiful and you have a beautiful voice! And I love you forever!!!!

  • FUCK THIS IS TALENT

  • her beutiness was her music. . (: shs amazing! Love her! <3

  • Janis is SHITTTTTTTT, as least Celine Dion never snoted or had a needle come out of her arm lol.

  • @Emo1341 janis is better then Celine . cant compare please! i would give anything to have janis back . . and celine can go ahead and Go she wont go down on history as much as janis did (:

Even wih a needle coming out of her arm LMFAO!

  • @MsChilichick I AM WITH YOU!!!!

  • @Emo1341 Wow, do you even like music?

  • @Emo1341 How can you say Janis is shittt,,, You need smacked up side the head dip-shit. Janis TOUCHED US. Proper management and a good publicist would've saved her from herself. What is your address and where do you hang out,,is the parking lot lighted?

  • @Emo1341 You wanna know why Celine Dion never sang the blues? Cause she don't know a damn thing about it, THAT'S why! Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Celine has known pain & heartache, but not like Janis. Janis Joplin WAS the blues! That bitch BREATHED pain! And again, don't get me wrong, Celine Dion has some amazing pipes.....BUT SHE IS NO JANIS!!!!!

  • @kajunbaby5 THAT'S RIGHT BODY, SHE WAS AND SHE IS THE BLUES

  • @kajunbaby5 I love Janis...but to say she WAS the blues ignores all those who came before her, ESPECIALLY those who were (past tense as they've since passed on) African American. Sure Celine has felt pain but she pretty much was raised by her manager, had sex with her manager and married her manager so in my personal oppinion she was EXTREMELY sheltered. Janis, she was so far ahead of her time.

  • @kajunbaby5 Every artist is different. No one sing about the same things in the same way. That's why the world of music is so beautiful. Everyone can find something which suits to him or her:)

  • @kajunbaby5 Actually Celine sang "That's Just a Woman in Me'. It's was an attempt to sound like Janis (IMHO). But this attempt wan't a success.

  • @Emo1341 You need to be bitch slapped back into reality....

  • @Emo1341 I don't think Janis ever SNOTED either, whatever snoted is HA HA HA

  • @Emo1341 You know NOTHING about your musical history. Guarantee you Celine wouldn't say that Janis was shit. Grow the fuck up, and learn a thing or two about REAL music before you start spouting immature nonsense. THANKS! :)

  • haunting-in a good way

  • Original queen of rock and roll!!

  • Nada de talvez , é com certeza !

  • @profCastello Apart from death and taxes.

  • He was real !!! simply real !

  • precious!

  • 0:20 WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • @Kerub4in Hahahahahahahaahahhaahah

  • De kár érte!

  • Janis is really out of it here - and this is what she can deliver. Superb.

  • She has a beautiful SOUL people! That's what is manifested in her music.

There weren't hairdressers, make-up artists and stylists of current trends-- if there were, I'd dare to say, she could hold a candle with any number of today's artists. I'm grateful for her INCREDIBLE voice. And, yes, I love and

miss Amy Winehouse for those same talents. Two lost souls, too early!!

  • U GITTA LOVE JANIS...

  • i love her hair and voice ♥

  • Janis sang not only with her voice.... every nail, hair and cm2 of skin were singing with her. Love her.

  • @graceleov Thank you for your comment. That's why JJ is immortal. God bless you.

  • i love her so much! the people that say that she is ugly!go fuck your self! a person is not beatufil for outside!

for me that means that your ugly inside!asshole

  • Just BEAUTIFUL!

  • Ugly?! You listen with yer ears not yer eyes.

  • Janis, the Queen from blues and soul! Only ignorant people could say "ugly" to a big singer like her.

  • @willsi8 I think she was cute & adorable, she hadan innocense about her.

  • my biggest idol (:

  • I've heard this song hundreds of times and I am still speechless. She is just unique.

Who in the world loving talented female singers could forget Janis.?

  • Dont ever compare amy winehouse to this u assholes!

  • @JASONCALEDONIA amy winehouse was a superb artist, dont get caught up in the media whirlwind that made her out to just be an addict. she was a true artist as well.

but anyways i love how the audience is mesmerized by Janis in this vid.LOVE!!!! shes so good.

  • joss stone inspired by her

  • She's so beautiful here.

  • One of a kind.......never forgotten.

  • @maestatis11 Yeah!!!

  • she is a goddess, I realized the minute 2:53 where Jesus Christ plays saxophone

  • a legend sings and fans listen in silence!

    Italian fan

  • I LOVE HER HAIR!!!!!

  • dry ass little white kids dont know soul and good music if Janis came down and slapped them in the face... id been swaying holding up an I LOVE YOU JANIS sign. now she gone, how many appreciate her?

  • It makes me cry and this song, its interpretation, Janis is very beautiful and think that she enjoyed the Brazil and Bahia in the village hippie Arembepe a beautiful place and I did a piece called "Arembepe" recorded in 1985 with Banda extra Luiz Caldas and as an arranger. Janis always inspires my song.

  • That voice is one of a kind !!

  • Janis was all "REAL" no plastic here.

  • I would love to have her stage presence.

  • Elle a une voix *-*

  • Where would Janis be today?

    At the top of course,

Frank Sinatra said back in the 60's Janis was the best blues singer of the decade and he heard them all.

I was luckey to see her on Ed Sullivan as she was getting famous.

RIP Janis your still the greatest

  • I'd like to see the person who called her ugly, become anything more than a comment on youtube.

  • please don't compare Janis with Celine Dion or Britney Spears, neither could ever come close

  • Era perfecta *_*

  • Music from when music was the thing.. . . not the show or the dance or the money. . . but pure talent who just did what they loved to do. . . . would have loved to be a hippie back when it was cool to be a hippie. . . . peace and good music to all

  • This world was never meant for one as beautiful as janis joplin
