Hey guys ive been on a level 3 and 4 in white water rafting and 4 was pretty dam tough for me just curious if anyone has ever been on a 5 or 6 and if they would recommend it for me?
from 2:09 to 2:31 ? Those ARNT crash and burns, I see some Kayakers going down the falls in every textbook way, I see a man roll over to do twists and turns in fast motion, and some people screwin round with em on land....????
As a whitewater photog and video editor of 12 years not much surprises me. This is rich, spectacular, delicious, freaky cool, and something to be immensely proud of. My hat is off to you.
@sportswearlover Oh yeah, some of them do. They just didn't know what they were getting into. Food tastes better and life a little sweeter after a good trashing.
i just got back from white water rafting, my camp group did level 3 rapids, it was hella amazing. =) ps: we did i fell off after going down a rapid, i had an adrenalin rush and it was hard ot breath, then agian the trip was amazing. =)
@x0iiTSF0REVER , NO AND NO. THESE ARE 3 RIVER AND THERE PROBABLY ISN'T A RIVER IN THE US THAT HAS HAD 17 DEATHS IN 1 YEAR. THESE ARE THE BLACK, MOOSE AND GAULEY RIVERS. PEOPLE TAKE MORE RISK DRIVING THEIR CARS TO GO RAFTING.
@x0iiTSF0REVER I think you're referring to the Gauley.. It's got a short season when the dam is released. There have never been that many deaths, although 3 people have died on the river during the Gauleyfest weekend since you made that post.
@UGonnaEatUrtots , USUALLY WHERE THESE FLIPS HAPPEN, THEY ARE SEMI-CONTROLLED. PEOPLE CAN SWIM TO THE SHORE OR SWIM TO THE RAFT WHILE THE GUIDE COORDINATES RIGHTING THE RAFT. A GUIDE WILL USE A "FLIP LINE" AND ATTACH IT TO THE SIDE, GET ON THE "BOTTOM" TOP NOW, AND FLIP IT BACK OVER AND PULL EVERYONE IN.
Awesome carnage. Most everything I saw on there could've been easily avoided, but it sure is fun to watch. Btw, judging from this video, any potential customers be weary of which rafting company you choose for the Moose River. lol. Slam those holes sideways!!
@clubbhopp Its true people drown every season on a few of these rivers but when you do the stats your odds of death are about 1-6000 I'll take the risk.
That is an awesome video. Knowing nobody got hurt makes it easier to watch. There was some big water there.
How about the guy who does a backflip and sort of hits the edge of the boat and the rock at the same point and then seemingly gets pulled down between the two. Classic.
yeah, it doesnt have ANYTHING to do with the guides or the guides guiding you into chutes or jettys on purpose to make it worth your money. there is a guide on the gualey by the name of alan that guides for passages to adventure that i'm willing to put a paycheck on it that you couldnt hold a candle to. its ok, we all get over our ego at some point or they empty the river to recover you and your egoless corpse!!! enjoy and be safe.
@joshmidd09 The Gulley uselly has 1-2 drownings a year, last year 3 in 6 week season. Class V is a ton of fun but its no joke. I've seen the Zambezi Kill too. But I don't know the stats on that river.
WOW!!! That is truly the best one so far. Seeing the girl pinned in the box is a little unsettling. The guides are doing moves I've never seen before, same as the custies. Excellent flips and backflips, premeditated or not. Dude, my adrenaline is still going.
I would love to join you and maybe give the lawyer a shove out the boat!! haha What an awesome video....can't wait till i get the chance to work my way out to the rivers out there. I've mainly done rivers in California : )
awesome stuff, people dropping into what look like some pretty vicious holes!! I'm amazed that in a lawsuit happy place like the states rafting rapids like this is still possible.
