Hey guys ive been on a level 3 and 4 in white water rafting and 4 was pretty dam tough for me just curious if anyone has ever been on a 5 or 6 and if they would recommend it for me?

i just got back from white water rafting, my camp group did level 3 rapids, it was hella amazing. =) ps: we did i fell off after going down a rapid, i had an adrenalin rush and it was hard ot breath, then agian the trip was amazing. =)

Is this the river that is only open 2 weeks of the year for experienced guides only? I believe 17 people died on it last year alone.

@x0iiTSF0REVER , NO AND NO. THESE ARE 3 RIVER AND THERE PROBABLY ISN'T A RIVER IN THE US THAT HAS HAD 17 DEATHS IN 1 YEAR. THESE ARE THE BLACK, MOOSE AND GAULEY RIVERS. PEOPLE TAKE MORE RISK DRIVING THEIR CARS TO GO RAFTING.

@x0iiTSF0REVER I think you're referring to the Gauley.. It's got a short season when the dam is released. There have never been that many deaths, although 3 people have died on the river during the Gauleyfest weekend since you made that post.

@UGonnaEatUrtots , USUALLY WHERE THESE FLIPS HAPPEN, THEY ARE SEMI-CONTROLLED. PEOPLE CAN SWIM TO THE SHORE OR SWIM TO THE RAFT WHILE THE GUIDE COORDINATES RIGHTING THE RAFT. A GUIDE WILL USE A "FLIP LINE" AND ATTACH IT TO THE SIDE, GET ON THE "BOTTOM" TOP NOW, AND FLIP IT BACK OVER AND PULL EVERYONE IN.

Awesome carnage. Most everything I saw on there could've been easily avoided, but it sure is fun to watch. Btw, judging from this video, any potential customers be weary of which rafting company you choose for the Moose River. lol. Slam those holes sideways!!

yeah, it doesnt have ANYTHING to do with the guides or the guides guiding you into chutes or jettys on purpose to make it worth your money. there is a guide on the gualey by the name of alan that guides for passages to adventure that i'm willing to put a paycheck on it that you couldnt hold a candle to. its ok, we all get over our ego at some point or they empty the river to recover you and your egoless corpse!!! enjoy and be safe.

@joshmidd09 The Gulley uselly has 1-2 drownings a year, last year 3 in 6 week season. Class V is a ton of fun but its no joke. I've seen the Zambezi Kill too. But I don't know the stats on that river.
