This glitch is awesome! i was playing around with this glitch and the arrows represent the item number. ive done this quite a few times with different amount of arrows. supposedly you have 17 arrows you get the megaton hammer, well if you have 19 you will have nayrus love instead. i have only got a few down cause i was bored here are the values

20 - bottle

19 - nayrus love

17 - hammer

15 - lens of truth

14 - boomerang

13 - farores wind

12 - ice arrow

I could see starting with the Megaton hammer to get through the Fire Temple, and the ISG + Poes to get to the Shadow Temple... You'd probably need to bottle glitch a few times to get through the other ones... Water seems like it would be particularly irritating to clear as a child...

The Biggoron Sword is always the Broken Giant's Knife regardless the condition the 2 handed sword is on the main file. The Master Sword is possible.

You don't need to perform the Bottle Adventure glitch if you already have the Master Sword on B, just have Master Sword on B then while on Epona, quit the game and make a new file.

I tried to start a new file with bombs but child Link hadn't bombs... I thought it was cause you start with zero bombs, so I gather rupies, buy deku sticks and scape the forest with the deku nut glitch. I was trying to get bombs from a peahat, but it killed me and i suppose that i lost the bombs on b. So i erased the file. I want to try it again but when I steal the fishing rod, enter, and exit again, I HAVEN'T DEKU STICKS ON B. Only master sword. Why it didn't work now? Sorry for my english

You are actually holding a Giant's Broken Knife, the range and damage output is weaker than the Master Sword. There is also a way to escape the forest on the 3DS version called the Walk while Talk glitch (also known as the Deku Nut escape), it's on MajoraMIM and Runnerguy2489 youtube channels.

You can't other than getting the item the pure legit way (in this case getting the Hammer inside the Fire Temple) or through Bottle Adventure as an Adult after:

*Completing the Forest Temple,

*Knowing a way to access the adult fishing pond and

*Having at least 1 bottle.

I even said at 9:47 in a red annotation box that it is not ok to save the game if the item on B is not related to a functional sword.

Oh that, silly me.

That was taken from a Bottle Adventure document from Zeldaspeedrun(.)com used for the N64 version but I have feeling it's not fully accurate since the 3DS version has added 2 more items (Hover and Iron boots) and tweaked on how you set an elemental arrow. Also the lack of Cheat Devices and stable 3DS emulators to use memory watch makes it difficult to find out the correct answers.

I tried this last night with Biggoron's Sword. How do you stop the Kokiri Sword from overriding it? Mido won't let you see the Deku Tree until you equip the Kokiri Sword, but then that gets rid of whatever item you had glitched to B...

There are a couple of ways of escaping the forest. One of them is the Walk While Talk glitch and it requires a Deku nut, exit the kokiri forest crawling tunnel and read to the left sign as soon as possible, then use a deku nut and you gain control but with a restricted camera angle. With this you can escape the forest. The other way is performing aqua escape in the Lost Woods (Navi diving into the warp zone to Zora's River). There are videos online showing you how to do this.

Oh and 1 quick side note, if you want to play the game with the megaton hammar, you need ( don't know how many but atleast more then 5 ) deku sticks, 2 to kill the big octopus and I don't know how many for barinade, because you can't kill them with the hammer. I found that out the hard way :(

Useful tip, if Mido is blocking your path(he should be), then look around Hyrule. I got 4 pieces of heart, a 50 bullet bag, 9 gold skulltalas, 2 bottles, a stick and nuts.

For some reason i cant break my deku sticks, also after backflipping i drop the bugs but they dig in the ground instantly, so i cant recatch them. I went and caught some more bugs set it to II and went back to the future, i didnt have the megaton hammer i had the fishing pole, and the game froze. What am I doing wrong?

You should at least wait til the original set of bugs bury underground, if you release the bottle bugs around that time, they bury underground too as the game thinks the bottle bugs are the original bugs.

The same way you can get the piece of heart by the cow in Kakariko Village as a child. You can drop down off the house onto the ledge when the owl drops you off as a child.

4 questions: Is it possible to un-attatck the hammer to B on the new save file?

If you copy your main file, will you for sure not lose the sword on either of the clone files? Can you do this glitch on the normal quest, and start a glitched file on the master quest, and vise versa? Is the hammer definitely the best item for speedruns, or are there others that might work out better?

@Deboogs 1-if by un-attack you mean revert it to sword, yes, just get the kokiri sword and equip it 2- i don't understand this question 3-yes 4- so far i don't think anything else would be better, hookshot could have funny effects (forest temple as child? anyone?). but yea, the hammer can attack and it can break rocks, i don't see anything that could give you more early accesses to parts of the games than this.

The premature piece of heart trick is a glitch? I did it after making a new file without knowing it was a glitch because I didn't feel like going through the long process of planting the magic bean then having to wait to become an adult and get it.

@abomasnow4 Was a backflip really needed? i remember just running to the edge and autojumping and while in the air pressing B. This also takes you there as young link and to be honest i find it to have more range (not to mention you actually look where you are going). Also, isn't it supposed to be a heart you get as a kid, anyway? (or maybe this was just to show how to get it without weapon on B so that a backflip is the only way to reach it, who knows...)
