  • Not a bad cover but you need to crank that snare up alot!! and def switch that Aquarian Super Kick II for an Evans E-mad.

  • First, you did a pretty good job, probably as good as I could have done, and I've been playing for years. Don't listen to those putting you down. It takes years to become excellent. That is the joy of drumming... you can always get better.

  • Nice Job, What Kind of Ride Cymbal is that? (Like size and Type) I know its Zildjian A custom, but what kind?

  • where do you buy those gel muffs?!

  • ur not bad, but this is not the way to pley that song ... gud luck with anothers

  • @kevincaz85 Btw.. i have the same cymbals as you! :D

  • @AustinIsJoeCool Dude.. Cobus is ten times better... anyday! Go look him up...

  • @littletaterdumplin What you have to realize is I especially made this to mimic the studio version for those of us who actually want to cover the song as best we can. Cobus does his own thing and props to that, but I like watching covers to see how close people can get to the actual song, not to see how good the drummer is..

  • @kevincaz85 I have to barge in on this thank god someone realizes the point of covers, actually watching it being played SOMEWHAT right. Instead of just doing a bunch of random fancy shit... Thank god one of you gets it.

  • @kevincaz85 if u wanna c the version chad does go on his youtube page & he breaks it down

  • I like how people say you suck when by far this is the best one out of the like 15 i watched of this song. You prove that you dont need all kinds of expensive equipment to make a great video and as far as your hands being loose on the stick that is a sign of confidence and that you know what your doing and your not tense. Great job man.

  • @Crazymachetero17 are you deaf? >_>

  • Should I get Evans Onyx or Remo Pinstripe?

  • @Shriffican I switched to Remo pinstripes because they sound better, especially with my set. They have more of a typical sound for rock music. Onyx looks better but is for heavier stuff and should never be put in with a Gretsch Catalina set. lol that was a mistake.

  • turn your china upside down, you might not think its gonna work but you get a brighter, and more clear sound

  • Kevin deserves wayyyy more subs like he once had :(

  • you know if you guys like theat old eighties sound and that low tuning get drums that cater to those needs. this is a fusion kit man these drums should be singing out dude, I got the same kit, and i want to put the onyx on my kit but you got them tuned too low for my taste so i can't tell what they would sound like on my kit, "tighten up"

  • @itsJoanfuckingJett I like them a lot. They pretty much sound like a lot of other Evans heads but they're black! =D

  • How did you tune your snare?

i love the sound of it!

  • @TehOddProductions thanks, well, if you are curious about the beginning of the song, I turned the snare half on, and then fully on for the rest of it. And it is tuned pretty low.

  • Dude awesome cover but I would trun the music up a bit

  • Cool drum heads! What brand are they?

  • @capps75 Evans Onyx

  • Nice pinkies when you do your rolls. Bring those in and they'll come out MUCH cleaner.

  • @kewlguy323 Thanks! =D

  • @kevincaz85 No problem! Check out Bob "Gatzen- Tonal Tuning Part 2" on YouTube. I tuned my heads like his and they sound awesome. You have heads that could potentially sound awesome, but they're not really getting they're full sound out.

  • What is it called what you're doing on the hi-hat in the beginning? Is it just playing fast?

  • @dtigers27 you mean when I hit it once but it actually strikes twice? That's a double stroke.

  • Very well played. Loved the kit. Check out my cover :)

  • How do you like the onyx heads?

  • im a "self taught" drummer and you did a kick ass job at this song. my favorite part of your performance has to be the drum fills. im having a lil trouble in that area. i always seem to hit one more tom than i need to or not hit one that i need to. but im getting better. not that you need me to tell you but your good man keep on playin. any drummers who are just startin to play and you are thinkin about quittin. a REAL DRUMMER never quits. only retires...you can come out of retirement.

  • how does this only have 389 views? this is really good, im learning this song, how long did it take you to learn it?

  • @jlakf thanks man. and probably about 2 hours

  • oh okay.. what kind of sony? :)

  • @amirpht hmm.. I'm not totally sure.. it was made around 2000 though so its pretty old. It is just a little bigger than the handycam is. I'm at college so I can't go get it.. hopefully this is good enough. =P

  • @kevincaz85 okay.. thanks for the info dude :)

  • what camera did you use to film this vid?

  • @amirpht its just my dad's sony but I'm using a Snowball Microphone for the audio

  • what camera did you use to film this vid?

  • dude get some lessons. im sorry but your technique is very bad. also you have very good drums. please learn how to tune them!

  • @gretschstg i think the toms sound bad as a result of my mic being so close to them. but what exactly about my technique is bad if I may ask? and don't say all of it please. I really want some constructive criticism and I really appreciate your feedback. I can tell that something is wrong, but I don't really know what. thanks dude.

  • @kevincaz85 one of the biggest things that i notice you are doing incorrect is that your fingers are coming off the stick alot. look when you try to roll on the hats at the beginning. see how all your back fingers are coming off the stick? this is a very bad habbit to develope because your back fingers control the sticks rebound. if they aren't there then there is no control. you cant just throw your hands down, you must take care of every note. Don't be afraid to put emotion into your playing!!

  • @gretschstg thanks dude! good advice

  • a little weak in parts but all in all very close to the song

  • great vid kevin!

  • so awesome!!!!!!!! love it i play drums 2 im only grade 1 :P
