Also thats a much newer dodge then the ford with more weight so the tires get more grip, and i think the dodge was the only diesel. Hey guy, yeah, you got me there, but nowadays its a 6.7, good thing Ford also offers the CAT 7.2. The 6.4 is offered in Navistars medium duty trucks and bus chasis as the MaxForce 7. As for the 6.7, good torque, but the main bearing caps and water pumps are quite pathetic in comparison to both GM(4bolt) and Ford(bed plate), not a good thing for long term reliability.

Uh, it's called apples to oranges comparison. Ford has a regular cab, dodge has a crew cab, crew cab equals more weight. The weight of the truck makes a larger difference than power between these two trucks. Of course traction control helps too if one or the other has it.
and my F-700 has a 5spd with 2spd rear.. 5.72 on the low side and 4.10 on the high side. I know I can outrun that yellow p.o.s that you paid over 100k for. You were comparing my one ton Dodge to your F-650, well shure it better outpull a 1 ton. but you can't compare it to my F-700 cause A) it has probably twice the power. Its all determined mostly by WEIGHT and axle hop losing traction, and overall traction. One truck simply having a limited slip rear axle will make it almost certainly win. Its simple physics, no brand it inherently better than another just all have tradeoffs.

Hey guy, yeah, you got me there, but nowadays its a 6.7, good thing Ford also offers the CAT 7.2. The 6.4 is offered in Navistars medium duty trucks and bus chasis as the MaxForce 7. As for the 6.7, good torque, but the main bearing caps and water pumps are quite pathetic in comparison to both GM(4bolt) and Ford(bed plate), not a good thing for long term reliability.

Uh, it's called apples to oranges comparison. Ford has a regular cab, dodge has a crew cab, crew cab equals more weight. The weight of the truck makes a larger difference than power between these two trucks. Of course traction control helps too if one or the other has it.

and my F-700 has a 5spd with 2spd rear.. 5.72 on the low side and 4.10 on the high side. I know I can outrun that yellow p.o.s that you paid over 100k for. You were comparing my one ton Dodge to your F-650, well shure it better outpull a 1 ton. but you can't compare it to my F-700 cause A) it has probably twice the power. B)It'll do 120mph.. you need to read a book my friend...before you have diarreha of the mouth again......

Obviously you didn't read my other comment. I said I also have A Kodiak with a 3116 Cat and Allison and my F-700 will run circles around it.. I see that yellow truck you BOUGHT!!! I have a '95 F-700 that I built into a 4dr. and besides, Cat won't allow that engine to be turned up much over 300hp. THE Cummins in my Ford was beyond that when I added the torque plate, injectors, and jacked up p-pump. Now I have compound turbos on it, Ive never dynod it but I'll bet the farm it's more than 300hp.

I own a hot-shot trucking co. I gross more that 32,000lbs with my '03 Dodge 3500 all the time. and yes it's possible. my rig tares at 15,000lbs and my 40ft GN trailer is rated for 20,000...I don't see any F-350s doing that!!!

Its all determined mostly by WEIGHT and axle hop losing traction, and overall traction. One truck simply having a limited slip rear axle will make it almost certainly win. Its simple physics, no brand it inherently better than another just all have tradeoffs.

The only way to measure pulling ability is to pull a sled with a measured weight on it. Let each truck take a pass with the sled and see who goes further. I've seen just as many Fords beat Dogde and Dodges beat Fords in stupid tug of war comps. They are all BS.

The truck with more power (torque) will lose traction first. If you want to win one of these all you have to do is stand on your brakes until the other truck loses traction, lean on the gas a little bit and release the brake.
