I do prefer the old straight pipes on the old Generation 1 and 2's. I've got a 2006 Gen3 SRT-10 and the side exhaust just isn't that impressive. Not to mention, I can't find a custom exhaust that does the engine justice (not even a Borla).

I totally agree.

I had to chose between a 2002 2nd generation VIper and a 2003 SRT-10.

I picked the 2002 as it has sexier lines and the to pipes out the back.

I put Belanger headers, cold-air intake, exhaust and tuned CPM = 100HP gain for around 5K.

@phantom5573 I've actually been looking at the Belangers, but I want the complete system... which puts it at about $5K. I assumed you just put in the headers at that cost, but if you installed the complete system definitely let me know where you bought them!

Belanger is the best for Viper.

And you are right. I just bought the headers but removed the Cats (which are VERY restrictive).

Belanger makes the ONLY cold-air intake for the 2nd Generation Viper, and its great.

I also bought from the Viper Store the SCT tuner which provides 20-25 RW HP alone.

All this with installation was about 5 grand. Forget the complete system to save money.

900hp on a Gen II Viper is not going to be possible unless it has some serious boost pressure. A naturally aspirated Gen II motor is going to see peak hp around the 600-650 mark. Highly built motors with twin turbos or superchargers are making 900 whp. Intake, headers, and exhaust IS NOT going to get you 900hp...not even at the crank.

the exhaust crackle is awesome!!! it sounds like he has performance cams in it and high flow headers with open exhaust and a cold air intake. with all those add-ons the hp would be around 900 at the crank

Eh, I dont think so. Stock those were good for 450hp. So with cams, CAI, and exhaust would probably get it to 500, maybe 525hp if set up properly.
