  • Classic, well-built train! I agree with LS1Heli that some lubrication is needed; at least oil for the bearings & grease for the gears. 1NASADude, maybe you have a room that would work for a " shelf " layout?

  • nice vid

  • i have a 1946 turbine set #2020 on the engine with the smoke bulb but mine didne come with a lighted caboose is your a 2020 or a 671 looks to be in nice shape i also have a 1950 681 turbine pullman passenger set that set is a real smoker

  • you need more cars. thats one of the biggest postwar engine. it can pull up 7.

  • Thank you for sharing this, it reminds me of when i was 2 years old and running our post war trains by myself. Ah what fun good times......

  • id be caureful...I got my first at 3 and almost broke it from treating it like a toy...make sure he dosent put it past a certain limit...like tape something on there so he cant make the thing go so fast it flies in the air ...also watch him most of the time or he might get shocked like I did once!

  • hello i am 9 and have to layouts

  • ya know you got to be wonderin whats goin through thier heads

  • 4 sure that needs to be serviced. If you plan on having his grand kids running it, please take it to a reputable service center to have maintenance performed.

  • what do u mean serviced?

  • Disassembled, cleaned, oiled, greased along with commutator polishing, new brushes and new brush springs.

All '46 models sound coarse because of the horizontal motor and double worm drive, but it should be quieter than in this video.

  • thats good getting a kid into trains not many kids like them nowa days

  • @Osbournefan123 lol i'm 12 am i'm a train freak!

  • my dad hase that turbine its a nice looking train

  • Nice clip great movie. I think that engine needs a lube though, it sounds dry.

  • do you have a real layout?

  • No, we just set them up every now and then. Not enough room at our home for a heavy duty layout.

  • lol

  • You guys are lucky. I want one of those Lionel turbines.

  • Then go out an buy one.

  • Already have one in excellent condition.
