I've performed this several times, the first being fall 2000 in high school, then again in 2003 on my college choir tour to New York City. I searched for this song tonight in remembrance of 9/11 and wanted to share it on facebook.
The lyrics and melodies of this work do enough on their own to move the soul. The delicacy and sensitivity your chorus have in this performance reminds me again why I love this song, and why we performed it in NYC as a special dedication...
I was in a very good high school choir, and now am in a VERY good college ensemble...and this...THIS...is an EXCELLENT choir! What a good program to be able to sing literature like Stroope well.
This song was one of the pieces I sang at my All District Honors Choir. So beautiful I nearly cried on stage :) Wanted to listen to it again and wow, his is a very lovely performance. Fine show!
This is freaking amazing!!! we're singing this in our "choir" and we suck lol and it pisses me off that we can't sound this beautiful simply because people aren't willing to work for it, but none the less, it's amazing ^___^ <3

the altos sound amazing. you can rarely hear the middle voices over the high voices, usually. so it is nice that there the perfect balance. :) final chord was really pretty, too!
We performed this song last year for an all county singing event, this song is just beautiful and this group gave me chills when i listened to this video especially in the main split parts and the ending. This is what i live for kudos to this group on every aspect vowels, dynamics, held notes, timing, and cut offs.
this is seriously like... perfection, The triplets need to be a bit clearer in my opinion but i see where the choral director was headed. I still think it is truly incredible.
a little bit too slow for me... there are moments in the song when the tempo was supposed to be faster and not so much of a retard but other than that, this is the best version on youtube, definitely.
