  • I can still picture the image of the snowflake (from the opening credits of the film) as I'm listening :)

  • @kc86er Thank you - I'm glad this is evocative for you!

  • Amazing

  • @Driscol Thank you!

  • ..and when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby...I love this!

  • @lilberrico That's a really nice comment.

  • This is such a well piano version that I even can't find the right words. I think it's one thing to just play the notes or get into the emotion of it. Very well done and thanks for sharing it with us :)

  • @mdtmusic Thanks for the really kind comment. I do try to approach piano arrangements such as this as I would a 'classical' piece.

  • Very great job Phillip. I missed the opening theme on piano and you dit it, and the result is amazing. thank you for this moment !

  • Thanks - I'm glad you liked it!

  • back when James Horner knew how to compose such great music... god this is amazing...

  • Thank you - I'm glad you liked it!

  • Wow it even sounds like the real thing.

  • Thank you. When I record extracts from movie soundtracks I always check with the OST recordings to make sure the piano arrangements are faithful to the original, and I sometimes add lines or fill out textures.

  • Nice playing Phillip with pleasing harmonics and happy light overtones well suited to the theme.jannarta.

  • Thank you - I think this works well on piano.

  • Bravo for that performance and choice of piece/composer! I didn't see "Avatar" yet, but this piece gives me some of the musical-taste awaiting for me. Thanks for uploading.

  • Thanks! There is an extract of the Avatar music on YT - the style is pretty similar to this, I think.

  • What can I say, it's an amazing, wonderful performance! I wish I had the sheet music. American Tail was one of my favorite cartoons as a child. Thank you for bringing back fond memories. Do you think you can play a soundtrack by Danny Elfman (such as "The Corpse Bride", or, "Nightmare before Christmas")? =)

  • Thank you for your kind comment. I did think of recording an extract from 'The Corpse Bride' of which I found a piano arrangement, but it didn;t seem to work for me!
