The same conduits that bring drugs into the US, also brings thugs: same tunnels, corrupt officials, etc ... Closing the border would smother the cartel's main customers, ASSUMING that it's even America's fault. Mexican police & gov't are sided with the cartels. The military is on the gov't's side but still they're corrupt as well. Drugs will come regardless - either from Mexico, Cuba or overseas.
@TheTortugaTanker ASSUMING Americas at fault what the fuck are you talking about... it is at fault...im sure theres plenty of American who deal these drugs on the streets or are addicted to them so that makes America as much guilty... i agree with you on the drugs being brought from anywhere but theres corrupt people everywhere noones a saint here.
Wrong! Mexico does a considerable amount of drugs too. America carries 1/2 fault
A 2009 UN report estimated 1.7M Mexicans, or ~2.4% of the pop, use cocaine. In comparison with the US, where an ~88 tons of cocaine are consumed / yr, Mexico, with about 1/3 of the population as its northern neighbor, consumes an ~27.65 tons of the drug every year. If the UN's numbers are fairly accurate, Mexico is rapidly catching up to the US as a leading consumer of cocaine.
for all u people that is saying that its the U.S fault for not legalizing drugs are all fucking stupid ass fuck!
u guys have to be a bunch of crack heads or pot heads to even say that.
thats is like saying the U.S should make murder un-illegal.
the U.S should only be blamed for is not taking control over our borders. If they took better control over it, no americans would be involved in this drug war.
legalizing drugs is not going to do anything. instead we are going to have a f'cked up nation
Blame the cops...blame the government....how about blame the man in the mirror and all the potheads and dopeheads and coc heads....america is pathetic...43 in education...first in drug consumption....wow
WTB a politician with balls enough to legalize bud, robbing them of 50% of their income without one violent act. Otherwise the bad guys funding is endless, and ours, is already out.
if white americans didnt buy up most of the overpriced garbage drug cartels produce, just maybe the citizens of mexico would feel safe to stay and work in their own country.
all you think that legalizing pot will help this? it is a good idea, but i doubt that this insanity is over weed... my guess is that it is more likely cocaine or meth traffickers. those stand so much more to lose. and those dealers tend to be much more violent in protecting their profits since it isn't as easy as just growing more, like it is with weed. i agree that the US drug policies suck ass, but i don't think legalizing weed is going to do anything to stop these drug cartels from killing.
Ha! Thats funny that they named a town Texas in Mexico. I don't like in Texas in America but it still sent shivers down my back. lol. Marijuana isn't the problem or the solution, it would help curb it if it were legal but it would not stop the problem. But ya your right it is a large part Americas fault the cartels have so much power, we gave it to them and so did mexico by not enforcing the law.
Only way to do it now is a all out massacre on the cartel groups.
Guy dancing at the end. It's bad because the clip at the end came out over a month ago. Which means they're putting old clips together to make new ones.
Thank you, Federal Government ... lack of common sense and your refusal to legalize drugs and remove the profit potential has resulted in ALL OF THIS MADNESS.
@lordcrobar I don't know why we bother paying taxes. There's nobody in Washington worth a damn. If you laid this whole situation out for a 10 year old kid to think about, they'd have the correct answer in a minute.
@The1stPoster In a FREE society, a Democracy, the Government has NO BUSINESS regulating victimless crimes. You should be able to do as you please with your body. And, if you think I'm alone in that position, try studying Constitutional Law. You'll find a wealth of arguments to that affect by Supreme Court Justices. Prostitution & Drug ABUSE, just like consuming alcohol, skydiving, bungee jumping, motorcycle racing, sword swallowing, etc., is NOT THE GOVERNMENT'S BUSINESS to outlaw!
@The1stPoster Between 80 - 100 deaths are caused by consuming alcohol EVERY SINGLE DAY. Far more than any other legal or illegal activity. Far more than drug use.
The majority of the deaths related to drug use are CAUSED by the ILLEGAL DRUG TRADE not their USE.
It sad to say, but the only people to trust are the cartels. In order to gain their trust, you must kill a rival or target. This is largely to blame on Calderon, bullets don't stop cocaine flow. Got to legalize all that shit, and control it, tax it and regulate it. Next presdient, Ron Paul will address that.
too late, it wasn't legalized because pharm companies need to make a profit. It will never be legalized for that reason, they rather people die than them not make a buck.
@VexZeez I totally agree with you; but that will never happen. Its too easy for anyone to grow for resale and too hard for Gov thugs to find and TAX it. You can grow enough in your yard to make a decent living but the gov has no way to garnish your revenue, and no way to determine if your income tax return is correct or fraudulent (according to them). So if they cant guarantee themselves a cut of your money; then you cant legally earn it. Thats just ONE aspect of why itll never be legal. : (
@jmerrife you hit the nail on the head there. here is something else.now the money will be in the hands of the people if that happens..lets face it, weed is money, hemp is money. they wanna keep corporations as our suppliers of drugs and synthetic fabrics.hemp is a far greater threat to this system than any terrorist with a thousand bombs strapped to them could ever be. this is what "the war on drugs" is about. it aint to protect children or people..its about one thing and one thing only - MONEY
@jmerrife Making marijuana legal should make it less profitable. So that should discourage anyone from growing marijuana. It'll take more work and more land to make a profit that it might be too work intensive for the average person. So it's best to grow for themselves since a profit is too work intense.
@agent4051@mympsick Marijuana is the cash crop. "Cash crop" in that drug cartels use the profits from selling marijuana to buy hard drugs like cocaine, heroin, & meth. No revenue crop, no profits to buy hard drugs. This will weaken the Mexican drug cartels. That would mean less violence and deaths from drug cartel violence on the border.
That's what revenue crop means. Revenue means cash.

@VexZeez Thats just plain stupid, weed doesnt make any money on the street as it is. Even if you do leaglize that wont cut down any of the killings the violence stems from hard core drugs and human trafficing. nothing too do really with weed.
