@reggaetoncalle From an athletic stand point, yes, it's much harder to make it in NJP than in a big US promotion like WWE. However, in the states, other things can get you over, such as character and all of that soap opera stuff. A guy like The Miz or Sheamus, or even Orton or Cena would have never made it past the dark matches in NJP. Maybe All Japan, but not likely. Plus the Japanese wrestlers are much more competative with one another on a real life basis.
@reggaetoncalle another point to take into account is the fact that most of the rookies in Japan's biggest promotions have background in legit sports (amateur wrestling or judo) and their workout menus are incredibely exhausting
@llh4ck3rll fuck that hes a legend, compare to wrestling today, atleast in japan they still respect wrestling unlike todays bullshit with john cenas and triple h
I have Wrestle Kingdom 2 and 3 soon I'll get 4 and 1. This is an awesome event and it has more moves and more hard hitting action than the WWE. I wish WWE would compete with TNA, NJPW, AJPW, and CMLL. WWE is to corporate and will got risk its superstars to compete at this high performance hard style type of wrestling.
Have to say, NJPW always have the best entrance themes - they seem to match the wrestlers coming out, rather than the generic Jim Johnston tripe trolled out for 90% of the WWE superstars.
Desearia un poco mas del estilo Puroresu en la lucha libre mexicana, aki estan prohibidos los piledrivers, los suplex brainbuster, casi la mayoria de los ataques de poder, es buena nuestra lucha a ras de lona, muy tecnica, pero a veces se vuelve metodica, tediosa y aburrida. the only question i have and its the one i usually have when i watch japanese pro wrestling. ok who the hells the bad guy and whos the babyface? because most times the crowd ends up popping for both guys or theyre dead silent for both.
@mugenmunster Japanese crowds show appreciation for athleticism and ability to entertain. In the past, foreign wrestlers such as Lou Thesz, The Destroyer, Freddie Blassie, Stan Hansen, or Brusier Brody were the heels, but now they are fully respected in Japan. In interpromotional feuds, the outlanders are the heels (for instance, Takashi Sugiura, NOAH wrestler, played the heel role fighting in New Japan).
@funkysnoogans "muta has the best entrance ever. Period"
Tokyo magnum had a great entrance: he would run out in stripper attire and dance for some women in the audience and they stuff money in his trunks. good entrace.
I stand corrected. Thanx. Just imagine if u will everyone..........Sting & Muta as a Tag Team........IN JAPAN!!! SCORPION DEVILS!! That would have been CRAZY!
I think the closest to number 1 that a Japanese wrestler got was the late Mitsaru Misawa. I think he was #2 behind the late Chris Benoit. PWI is so USA biased anyway.
PWI has this reputation of being the best mag but it's pretty weak. Never has a Japanese wrestler been no.1 in the PWI 500 which is a laugh, in fact no foreign wrester has and it's a WWE fan mag without a doubt.
The number one ranked wrestlers since 1991 when it first published the PWi 500 is Hogan,Sting,Bret Hart,Diesel,Shawn Michaels,Malenko,Austin,HHH,Kurt Angle,RVD,Lesnar,Benoit,Batista,Cena, Orton,HHH.
Just look at names like Kevin'Diesel' Nash,Cena,Batista.Never have they been the best.
PWI ranked the 500 greatest wrestlers of all time. Muta was ranked 25th overall out of 500 and considering how innovative he is, Muta should easily be inside the Top 20. You don't rank a man this great behind Austin. Of the Japanese wrestlers, only Inoki (5th) and Jushin Liger (11th i think) were ranked ahead of him. Thank you Japan for giving us The Great Muta and the classics with Sting.
@TheLuscious@mrmagoolash Muta hasn't wrestled in a major American promotion in years- he was on PWG's Kurt Russelmania very recently as was Liger. So I understand why he's behind Austin who was crazy influential/over like rover in the WWF in a very short amount of time.
PWI is gimmicked and not a "real" ranking system. It's all kayfabe. PWI rankings don't matter. I don't get why people don't get that it's a gimmick. A work, it's not reality.
@princesstamika Don't write me and try to tell me what you think i should know. That PWI all-time Top 500 was legit. I didn't agree with where everyone got placed but the rankings were legit. Even if you had proof it was kayfabe, keep it to yourself. Muta 4 Life!
@TheLuscious Why should I keep it to myself? Everyone knows PWI promotes WWE cause they're kayfabed and WWE wrestlers always rank high up even if they suck- one look at the Womens' Top 100 would tell you that; no way Kelly Kelly is better than Akira Hokuta for example. Don't understand why I'd have to keep that to myself. It's obvious.. PWI has always been kayfabed.
@princesstamika And in the men's Top 500, Hogan was first, Flair second, Bret Hart fifth and Shawn Michaels 10th. Guess it wasn't kayfabe. Like I said, keep it to yourself. Trying to act like you the only one in the know about wrestling.
@TheLuscious Personally i think a top 5 list isn't a top 5 list unless he's included. His rivalries with Sting and Flair are second only to their rivalry with each other. He is just amazing to watch.
@TheLuscious PWI is just as smarky and bias as a 5 year old Cena Fan. They only look at whom is on top of the wrestling world, not 5 Star Classics, innovation or quality which is a sad truth. IMO, If they did it correctly, New Japan would probably hold the top 7 spots then maybe you would see guys like HBK and Bret Hart show up
@TheLuscious PWI became too mainstream by then. In the day they respected all of wrestling not just the top companies. It's pretty much a wwe mag now.
I like how they keep on emphasizing Muta is a heel during his ring entrance. Seriously, if you haven't gotten that Muta is a heel by now, then there's no hope for you at all. Let's just say he's been one for over almost 20 years now!!
Heh heh, it's hard to tell sometimes cuz people tend to cheer him a lot more than they boo him. I've been watching him since I was 10 and I could never decide if he was supposed to be good or bad, even when he did heelish things like pretend to attack audience memebers and shit.
id love to see some wwe wrestlers go to japan and have a showcase against new japan, cos i definitley think there is some great matches they cud have with many new japan wrestlers.have guys like jericho,HBK and shelton benjamin and maybe CM punk to face wrestlers like muta, it wud be fucking awesome!
I would say the same thing, if only Vince McMahon would allow such a crossover. Mutoh is all in support of having people from different organizations gather and fight, but Vince prefers to stick to his own company and rightfully so, considering WWE is the top organization worldwide. The closest we'll probably ever get is TNA since they have friendly relations with New Japan and All Japan.
