  • You saved my life guys!... well not my life, but my palm, wich is nice, anyway...

I inadvertently disconnected the battery of my e2 and it wouldn't power up! I replugged the tiny plasticky thingy and TADA! (it was me making the sound not the palm, that would've been freaky)

    Soooo THANKS!

  • Thank you so very very much. I couldn't find anything in my doc or online to tell me how to do this. It worked perfectly.

  • Thank you for the excellent video! Before we found your video we just couldn't bear to pry the sticking case open without fear of cracking and destroying it or something inside the unit. Your video was smooth, encouraging, clean and very nicely presented. Beautifully done!

  • A different instructional video for changing the battery in the Tungsten E shows that you need a soldering thingy! (sorry, i dont know what its called)

    Which video should I believe??

  • I would believe this video is true, because I have a Tungsten E2, but I did not open it to see if it is the right connector or not.

    BTW, it is solderig IRON

  • Yes, the battery on the Tungsten E requires soldering, but the E2 has a connector for the battery, just like it shows in the video.

  • Make sure its the same model first!

  • You sound like an AI or a Computer. Seriously.

  • Some points:

    * I didn't need to buy a separate Torx T5 driver after all. My battery was packaged w/ T5 (read offer carefully).

    * Back up your PDA data.

    * It was not necessary to use melt the adhesive. Gentle prying was all that was needed.

    * The plug snaps in and out of the circuit board in a straight up or down motion.

    * There is enough glue from the old battery on the rear case for securing the new battery.

    * Take special care not to pinch the wires when closing the case. .

  • I want to get one of these, can't you just recharge the battery instead of replacing it all together? Is there a way to do that?

  • Yes, the battery is rechargable, and lasts for 10 hours or more before needing to be recharged. But after about 2 years, the battery just wears out and needs to be replaced.

  • Ah~ thank you very much!

  • very useful.
