That is actually the Missouri River you are crossing. The Meramec River is to the south of St. Louis. That section of I-70 is northwest of St. Louis.

Thats the meremac river. not the mississippi. You are right outside St. Louis crossing I-270. I drive that stretch of road every other day. I-70 is long and straight.
