  • What the fuck is wrong with me...i can't balance, but i can keep straight enough to actually stay in shape to do it....What am i doing wrong?

  • Well in my case it seems that my lower back is really weak that I can't raise my hips from tuck to advanced tuck planche. Do you recommend an exercise to strenghten my lower back or should I focus on my shoulders as you describe in this tut?

  • Hi, great tutorial thanks!

How is this thing called on which you are doing the exercises and where can I get something like this? I find doing the exercises on the floor more difficult.

    Thanks.

  • Is it easier 2 use the bars or da floor? O.o

  • Comment removed

  • @BBoyCoolbreeze for me its floor :)

  • How old r u?

  • how long does it take to get the planche according to this video

  • Sorry for bothering you guys but i must ask you this, what if you cant do L sit or tuck planche. Can you give some tutorials about that?

  • Sam you are just amazing. Thanks a lot for these tutorials. Do you workout at a gym, or just calisthenics? Coz you are totally ripped!

  • have you actually to do the extreme straightening of your arms? cant't you just let it be held by your trizeps?

  • @MIadencinaa. Hahahahahah. :)

  • where can i get a pedastool like that

  • @welshbeast101

I just used my computer chair...

    I am ghetto.

  • @Gronarix looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool omg u wish

  • @welshbeast101

Hahah, honestly though. It is one of those big chairs with the metal arm rests... It works nicely for these exercises.

  • thank you very much.

  • I cant seem to get past the tuck planche i can hold it for around 15-20 seconds but if i extend one leg i fall, this is on floor not p bars, any suggestions please?

  • @AwesomeUsername22

try to master each of the stages so that you can hold the position for 60 secs before moving to the next stage of training. i.e. when you can hold tuck planche for a min in one go without strained breathing try the next step.

Each time you train do as many sets as it takes to reach the 60 secs for whatever position your doing with breaks in between each set, slowly the number of sets it takes to reach 60 secs will drop till you can do it in one. then try the next position

  • @SupremeParkitects thanks for that :)

  • I thought that the tuck planche required very strong abs, but In reality, it actually engages your whole upper back muscles?

  • its very good exercise thank you so much

  • Im 6'2 and I am having trouble doing my tuck without my feet hitting the ground.. any help?

  • It looks so easy but it is hard as hell, the hardest part is to loose all the fat to help your arms and shoulders, and i am still at 18% fat and feel heavy...

  • @nikosf3n I'm at about 15% I think, just getting on to tuck planche now!

These must be one of the best exercises on earth- I felt it in every part of my upper body!

pseudo planche push ups, and frog/horse stands are good exercises to get the strength.

  • very good and motivating instructions.i do yoga and this is similar to lolasana pose which i am now desperately trying to achieve.i can do if my hands are elevated.slowly working towards just using the floor.getting there slowly but surely.tq

  • Reminds me of goku..

  • This guys is so relaxed and nice, rly like him. :D

  • good tutorial !! Thanks

  • What possible reason would 4 people have to dislike this.... oh wait jealously, of course!

  • I think it takes like years of intense training to develop this amount of strength

  • can you do a planche ?

  • You don't need the stands really. You can use chairs or something anything that gets you into a higher position. More room beneath you makes the movement easier. The less room you can manage, the more control you have. Just be sure that the items that elevate you into a higher level (my example 2 chairs) fall over while doing the exercise.

For those of you who doesn't have stands, but ofc. If you have stands, why not use them...

  • 3:13 does that black guy have boobs?

  • @Marker1024 WWWWWWWTTTTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFF

  • song name at 0:19

  • wut if dont have those stands? =/

  • What are the major muscle groups involved? Triceps , wrists, core and?..

  • Comment removed

  • @vampiresaga The upper body. chest and shoulder too..

  • Im going to give everyone a little warning on this, this exercise is extremely tough on your elbows. If you do not condition your elbows previously through frogstand, strait arm frogstand, advanced frogstand, and planche leans you will get hurt. Please search these terms on youtube, they will help you greatly on your journey to a full planche.

  • This guys a BOSS

  • Sam your tutorials are the best on youtube ! KEEP POSTING VIDEOS PLEASE ILL GET THE PLANCHE THANKS ALOT !

  • BEST PLANCHE TUTORIAL OUT THERE. and I've seen a lot.

  • @ToonstaTV Same here, i watch hundreds of planche tutorials, training, progresson etc, but this one is the best.

    Thanks strength project.

  • @fre901108 maybe instead of watching hundreds of them you should do it ;)

  • @BaRussian Well, i have to rest too, and when i do, i watch other ppl planche on youtube.

I guess you trying to get planche too, im i rite?

  • @fre901108 Yup! Im doing advanced tucks now :) Good luck on yours as well!

  • @BaRussian Thanks, im still stuck at the tucked planche :/

  • @fre901108 If your stuck that might mean you need to get your shoulders stronger - or do more pullups, dips pushups. I dont really focus on planche I just do calisthenics anв but I practice the tucks. After A while it should come most people take a year or more to learn it

  • @BaRussian Right now, im doing tucked planche and L-sit, V-sit for shoulders, but i need to begin with pullups too, because i rarely workout my biceps.

How long have you been doing calisthenics?

  • do a video how to make one of these. please

  • SUPER!! Lifting my hips just seemed impossible (maybe because of my long torso..).but I think I could fix my problem and make some progress. A whole bunch of thanks~~

  • WOW! this is the best planche workout tutorial I have seen on YouTube. I have been trying to work up to a planche for a while and haven't found any solid tips till now. So Thank you.

  • FIRST TRY: I could hold An L-sit for 30 seconds just today(shaking the last 10), ill report back tomorrow.

  • could listen to his explanations for days...

  • this is fantastic. i'm glad he talked about how to raise the hips, cos that's something that i've really been struggling with. can't wait for my shoulder to heal so i can get back to it.

  • when you master L position why not replace 2nd step with V position?

  • Still waiting for the video on how to make a pair of those hand stands...

  • i cant even get up dong a l position

  • great stuff !!!

  • pedal stools?

  • For how long has Sams been training?

  • excellent tutorial

  • some more good practice exercises are crow pose and baby crow pose in yoga. holding those as long as you can puts the first 3 steps into one.

    before I go sleep

    And I don't have arms!

  • yay! I can do the tuck! The rotating part seems tricky though

  • this dude has incredible strength!!!!!

  • those hand stands are really neat!!

i have been always doing L sits with my palms on the floor

  • I AM LEARNING THIS FROM TOMORROW MORNING, HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME. Lets see :D i'll Report back here.

  • @frydayupinhere It normally takes anywhere from 6 months to a year if you keep at it and are fairly fit to begin with.

  • ughh im so close... my tucked planche is just about perfect but i need to train some however longer to get an actual planche. thanks for the tips! Hopefully i can get it sooner with this tutorial

  • @CrunchyLips0

We'll do a video on how to make one!

  • @strengthproject please DO! I really want one of those. I just need to know what to put up top where your hand touch

  • @strengthproject I was just about to ask can you give suggestions on which materials to use and to build these stands :))

They can also be used for handbalancing and handstands right?

  • @strengthproject I'll be looking forward to it.

  • @CrunchyLips0 Why not use 2 chairs for the time being?

  • Two questions.. IS FLEXIBILITY NEEDED FOR THIS??¿

And THE TUCKED PLANCHE AND L-SIT ARE WITH THE BACK STRAIGHT OR TUCKED A LITTLE??

  • Where is that place on Earth?

  • @Botan626

This is at Venice or Santa Monica Beach in Los Angeles, California, USA.

  • this is awesome :) !

  • Awesome tutorial for the most beautiful bwe skill ;)

You really explained it well and gave me some ideas I would have never thought about. Good Job!

  • 3:13 "Show Off" Enters The Video.

  • Really a great video. I was doing 50 push ups 3 or 4 times a day to build up to try the planche. This gives me so many real exercises to move me towards getting this rather than just more push ups. thanks for showing this once i get one i will upload it.

  • Where do you get those cane/pedestal things at?

  • @TheTalkboxKing

i made my own, didn't take much, although i just fixed them directly in the floor of my home gym. so all i needed was 2 metal rods and 2 pieces of wood on the top.

an easy alternative is just to buy a couple of pushup stands (you can get them anywhere)

those are what i used beforehand, you can get them real cheap, just make sure their tall enough for you and that their sturdy, i got some that where made of metal, but there are hard plastic ones to, and i'm sure they'll do fine

  • I've liked every video you've posted since I've subscribed. Keep it up.

  • lol is this guy asian or black

  • i think id fuck that

  • Will this help my flares?

  • @KoKoKorean actully it does help on your flares it helps to gain the back strenght n arms strenght, other then that you gotta pratice them n get use to the flares movement. it wount guarantee you a flare but it will get you way closer to them.

  • @mmaufc33 Dont forget core. A B-Boy is nothing without core strength.

  • @iverson25allen yea i agree to that. oh n we're nothing without music ether.

  • GREAT VID!!! very well done, and everything beautifully explained and demonstrated. this is one of the best.

  • planche? i thought it was pronounced "planck".. but very helpful tutorial

  • @phantomhockeyzero "Planche" comes from French and is pronounced with a soft "ch". His pronunciation is an Americanized version of the real pronunciation, but it is nonetheless the accepted way of saying planche in American English.

  • Grade A tutorial! -Ya I'm dishing out Grades-

However popping out the elbow like that isn't going 2 causing it short term or long term damage?

  • this guy has great eloquence. his tutorial rocks..!

  • You make it look to easy.

  • if you want to see the video "artofspin" from the end search "The Art of Spinning- Sam Introducing Roue Simple " on youtube.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I wanted to progress to a planche on rings, would I want to train with my hands positioned such that my fingertips would point towards my feet (as I believe that the hand placement must be this way on the rings)? And is that hand position (just on the ground) harder than if my hands were to being pointing out to my sides? I think so, but I'm curious about your feedback. Thanks a lot! This was a fantastic video that will definitely help me!

  • great tutorial!
