This is an amazing cover of my favourite childhood song! I love your voice and you have great talent but I have to agree that the tempo would have sounded better slower.. The song is meant to be sad and depressing as it's about death and this tempo is almost happy and upbeat. Either way it was great to hear! Thank you so much for sharing <3

Yes you can prevent the sounds, you use a pop shield, but from the quality of your recordings I think you probably use one already. Perhaps it just needs a thicker mesh? The proximity to the mic is a factor, if you lean in to perform the line then lean away again to prepare for the next that helps too. Mind if I ask what mics/amp you are using?

@Snowflower314 In that case I am really really impressed you managed to get the quality of sound that you did. Good work. Once you record with a pop shield you will wonder how you did without it. Although you did do very well without it, it will just add the 'topping' to the sound quality.

Excellent cover. Little tip - when you close your mouth at the end of a bar you’re getting a small ‘clicking’ sound. In this piece as it adds closeness to your voice, making for a very personal listening experience, but when you add harmony I think you are ending one of the voice tracks a little too soon and it’s clipping the clicking sound. Try adding a little more time after the bar and fading out. Best with your future tracks, and I hope you get a contract.

Thanks for the tip :) I am a little confused though! I never noticed any clicks, and just listened through to see if I could spot them but I must be listening for the wrong thing because I couldn't find any. Would you mind pointing out some times during the song where you hear the sounds you're referring to? :) I'm curious now. I try to be as thorough as I can but I'm sure my production isn't as pristine as the pros!

@Snowflower314 It’s very subtle; but I do it for a job so it’s something I learned to listen out for when recording. If your happy with the track that’s all the counts. For example at .41 between “old and warm”, the clicks are not an artefact of recording it’s the sound of your toque creating a small vacuum with your mouth when you change syllable formation.

@windogmassey1 As I said it adds closeness to the piece, it’s just strange when you have harmony to hear two clicks at the same time (from each recording). Also, try to filter the breath sounds from the harmony track, again two breath sounds layered one on top is a little loud.

@windogmassey1 Not a criticism, it’s a great track, it’s just to help you if you wanted to record a cd, it’s the best way to assure what’s called listener comfort. – making sure the listener never hears anything distracting or unnatural.
