I'm sorry, but compared to the old Within Temptation, this album isn't nearly as good.

The symphonic elements seem to have been increasingly replaced by electronica/pop influences, making it sound much more fake, taking away from its depth and originality. It is also much more poppy then the old. I still like it and it's better than 80% of the crap that's out there, but it's not nearly as good as "The Silent Force," "Heart of Everything" or "Mother Earth."

I saw them in Baltimore last month and it was a great show. But they seemed a little overwhelmed by the experience and took some time to find a groove. The sound mix (normally excellent at the Rams Head) wasn't so great and Sharon had to scream, which took away much of the dynamics. They had 1000 loyal fans who sang along with all the lyrics--I felt left out, having discovered them only recently. The people next to me drove up from NC. BTW "Three" was the opening band and they were dynamite!
