Well, E3 is right around the corner. If there was a time to start hoping one of the things they announce is that Silicon Knights has been working on an Eternal Darkness 2 (Sanity's Redemption sounds nice. They used it as a Sanity Effect to make it look like Sanity's Requiem was just a demo.), I'd say now would be it if we weren't already.

I wish. With the popularity of the Scare Crow levels of Barman Arkham Asylum, more and more people are finding out about Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. They should remake the original. Keep the story and over all game play mechanics. Just update the graphics and teweek controls and fighting for the new systems. I got Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem the day it came out, but I didn't meet any one else that bought it till years latter.

The reason they fail hardest, whoever made this....Is because they didn't even know the series that well apparently.. the game on the Gamecube WAS Eternal Darkness 2.. .There was "Eternal Darkness" on N64 and "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" on Gamecube

Fail on your part. "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" is not a sequel. The development was originally planned for the N64, then moved to the Gamecube mid-production. There never ended up being an N64 version, and even if there had, it would have been the same game. Maybe you should do a little research yourself before knocking other people.

I played ED recently again. The credits said, that the copyright of the game, scenario and so on belong all to Nintendo.

So I do believe, that a second game would be released on a Nintendo console. But even if not, It'd be nice to see a second ED.

I don't see how they could do a continuation of the Eternal Darkness because its ending was absolutely finite.

Even better - the could do a remake and re-release with added scenarios, time eras, people and cultures.

Would love to play scenarios from the Viking culture, ancient Africa, Native South America, Eskimo, and Antique Greece. The battle against the Darkness spans several cultures and eras already so it would be doable.

Actually the ending wasn't completely finite, as - assuming one got all endings, another mini ending was added hinting that Mantarok was still alive and thinking of stirring up his own apocalypse.

If you pass the game with all 3 Gods, you get a secret ending showing the Purple God, Mantorok or something, is still alive. I really hope SK makes a sequel as well. uhh, dyack said at a MICROSOFT conference that their PROBABLY WILL be an ED 2. that means it'll probably be for 360. and to everyone talking about the sanity meter, nintendo patented the sanity METER, not sanity effects, so if they fuck with the way it shows your decreasing sanity, it'll be completely fine.

Fuckin cunt of an ex "borrowed" it and never returned it. Even after playing the shit outta that game I still miss it. Even with all my ps3 and pc shit, ED still fuckin ruled. Shit.....I wish it was true. Though the ED was glitchy as hell, considering the storyline and ideas alone on its own merit of originality were light years beyond all else. Easily on my top 5 list of best games of all time. I went through everything in that game when I had it beating it with every "god" in storyline to see the special ending and it still had replay value.
