It took me a while to figure out why Emerald was doing 999 damage instead of 9999, but I figure it's because GtG has HP=MP materia equipped as well to make sure he has enough MP.

@36256564874847848487 It's dropped by Ultimate WEAPON, the black one. Since Emerald is completely optional and you can fight Ultimate any time after beating Diamond, you can have Ultima Weapon soon before Emerald.

about that problem: maybe it overflowed because you mimed so many attacks and it started with the final attack you cast. maybe there is some kind of mime or attack counter which only goes up to 255 or something

You get Omnislash and W-summon from the battle arena in the gold saucer and then do another special battle for final attack :)

Level up you mime materia to MASTERED level and you get another one, keep leveling them until you think you have enough of them.

Here's what throws me, though. Aren't multiple counters supposed to follow the order you set up your Materia? At least that's how it looked to me, in past observations. As in Weapon: 1st paired slots, 2nd paired slots, 3rd paired slots, 4th paired slots, then Armor: same order. Meaning it looks like the -last- counter that should occur upon death is Life. And yet that never seemed to happened. And Mime mostly ignored Life castings. How bizarre. I thought counters were valid for Mime use...

Oh, and I forgot to say : if you have more than 1 Final Attack - Mime in your equipment, your character will mime all differents actions done by a Final Attack before the death...

But I have to see the battle again if everything seems normal with the explanation I have in my mind... :-P

I told with a friend, and it's possible you mime, after a death and Final Attack - Revive, the last attack you mime, and not the last command itself !

In other terms, at 2:05, Tifa mimes Clad's revive, not Tifa's one. At 2:34, Tifa doesn't mime her own Bomb T/S, but the last Bomb T/S Clad launched with Attack Final / Mime !

It can explain that, at least when Emerald Weapon kills you two turns in a row.

I'm not sure if at 2:34, Tifa mimes the Bomb T/S launched with Attack Final / Mime at 1:59, or if it's the one at 2:15. But I'm pretty sure it's not the Bomb T/S she launched at 2:21. You should do a try with Bomb T/S for Clad, and Graviball for Tifa ! ^^
