  • I love the flugelhorn. I love the sound, and I always feel at my best when playing it. Clark here has a certain sound that I can never imitate - it isn't quite as apparent in this recording but if you look around on youtube and see some other videos you can hear that he gives the flugel a certain timbre that one doesn't often hear. Truly wonderful player. Listening to Clark makes me want to quit trumpet and play flugel full time instead!

  • nice:)

  • OLDS C.T. flugel , how cool is that?

  • Actually, it is a fluegelhorn; I can hear it. A trumpet has a "brighter" tone to it; the instrument used in this cut has a more "mellow" tone. Mr. Terry started increasingly focusing on the fluegelhorn in the '60's and has continued its advocacy in jazz to this day.

BTW, did you know Clark Terry is 90 years old now? His 91st birthday will be this December! A living legend...and a breathing library.

  • fantastic! thanks for uploading!
