I would probably tie a safety on the end piece of the line; wouldn't want it to get pulled back through for some reason.

I surf fish quite a bit and this knot is great! it holds well even when one loop breaks while pulling into the surf

no.....blood knot is a way to splice line

theres two types of blood knots, one for connecting 2 pieces of line and one for connecting it to a fish eye, hole, etc
