Im so getting one and the first thing ima do when i get one is putting a big ass turbo in it, then ima gut it, rip out the gay ass egr (I really hate the egr dont ask me why its has caused me alot of trouble, screw the environment) and limiter and stuff. If it can live up to the name Supra, then yes. . . but this car is predicted to cost under 30k. . . I doubt a car that cheap will be remotely close to it's predecessor. If they release this car as a supra and it's just not as good, the Supra name will be ruined!

@sykku They stated it's going to be cheap because it's 100% aimed at the tuner market. They removed a bunch of the crap that made cars expensive such as the 6 speaker system, led lights on the mirrors, the fancy dash tech, synchro rev. They said this thing is pretty stripped down, they've even shaped the dash to where you can fit a roll cage without any cutting what-so-ever. They've also strengthened the internals to handle huge power. Trust me, this thing is INTENDED to live up to the Supra. :3

@sykku um... '86' is in reference to the AE86 Corolla not the Supra... a car known for being possibly one of the best bang for the buck cars even to this day. Also.. the Supra always had a turbo inline six... the Corolla had a 4 banger.. and so does this.

@LAinfamathSD ok.. not all the supra's came turbo.. but they did all come with inline sixes. In 1979, the second year for the Supra, a turbo was available on the stock car. The only thing of any significance to the Supra that happened in the year you referred to.. is that they stopped being sold in the US.

The FT-86 has a flat four engine which is roughly 2 cylinders long.. literally a third the length of a supra engine... I doubt it would fit without serious modification.

At least theres another japanese manufacturer coming out with another sports car. Seems they've all lost interest since the early to mid 90's when half their cars were sport coupes. Now theyve all turned into NA 1.8 litre eco friendly POS.

@hashfromjc . well you can blame everyone who skipped on buying a japanese sports car towards the end of the 1990. the Supra, the RX-7, 300ZX, R34, NSX, MR2, celica GT4 they all fell victim to a general decrease in sales. While some have lasted to 2002-2005 others quit quite early and don't have a replacement yet. But it makes those cars more valuable :).

@NoFanSLand well, mostly they also cut production numbers sent to america and in japan they cut back on production as well as trying to cut out wreckless driving over there, which is why a few lasted until the 2000's (very limited production), and is also why the new gtr has that shitty gps-tracked governed computer under the hood that wont even let you meet the speed you should by the end of a 1/4 mile unless your on a official track, and can only get around that by voiding the warranty.
