  • Sliver X should seriously consider remaking these from scratch in 'C' code or assembly, and then porting it to Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. Make some money off of these :)

There's no law against 'inspiration' and its not a ripoff at all compared to what most other 'official' games do when 'borrowing' from other games.

  • I love this hack. I would pay for it.

  • Awesome hack. Very well done.

  • lol I know how to patch, i just need a .nes to put on my portable emulator

  • @sonicfanatic4949:

Type it into google and you'll find a .nes very easily.

  • Dude, you gotta release this as a .nes, so I can put it on my dingoo...

    please?

  • @sonicfanatic4949 For legal reasons, the guy who made the Dragoon X Omega patch can't release it as a pre-patched NES ROM (note: I didn't make the patch, I just made this video). But patching is SO easy and doesn't take more than 30 seconds of your time. Click the link for the patching tutorial in this video's description.

  • thanks for hacking recca, and for these other extensive hacks id have never started hacking if it wern't for your excellent work

  • Anybody know where to find the Teleporter's power source?

  • This is the greatest game hack ever!!! But maybe you should make 4 people and harder enemies, that would be nice.

  • Man, you got mu honors for putting such extensive work into your patch!

  • Ack sorry about the triple post.

Also a note, I started a strat guide for DXO at

    legacyent[dot]org/dxo

  • Great game and trailer! You obviously put alot of work into it. Though I was not able to finish the first(Never could find out where to put the nuke or how to get it to work...)I'll no doubt start playing this one soon!

  • Thank you. :) I'm glad you enjoyed the trailer. ***Note for everyone else: I didn't make this hack, I only made the trailer. SliverXReal made it so message him if you have questions.

  • I need to update the map to show where to put the nuke, but I can tell you right now that its at the end of a swamp. The locator cube says: 6N 22W

  • @MasterAsra:

There's someone named 'bigjew899' on YT doing an LP of the game, makes for a nice visual walkthrough. :)

As to where to put the nuke, I commented on bigjew's #6 vid with the link to the maps that SliverX made and released.

If that's not enough, you basically head over to where you'd go to fight the Guardian but head north over a narrow bridge, one-mountain square on the northwest side you blow up, try everywhere and you'll find it.

  • Amitrius17 this is the best ff1 hack I have seen and how in the world did you manage to make only one character to play around the world?! Thats what puzzles me. The music is really really cool. It sends chills down my spine. I need the same fire that you have with my Fire Emblem 8 hack!!

  • The other three characters *are* there, really.

They're set to be dead on the start of a new game, and all reviving effects were removed from the game. (Their corpses are what make up Sargon's battle sprite).

Any menu that allowed interaction with them was hacked.

Their inventories are preloaded with invisible "dummy" items so Sargon cannot store anything in their weapon/armor slots.

Gavin did most of this, and I did the rest.

Also, I'm glad you liked the music I wrote for the game.

  • Hey SliverXReal, I just spent the last 3 hours playing this on my DS. Amazing game!!!

Thanks so much for making this!

P.S. The Varion (spelling?) was a bitch! It killed me twice before I finally beat it and even then I barely made it back to town in one piece. ;D

  • damn my laggy nes emulator...

I've seen pictures for this before, but i never thought you put in THAT much work into it.. damn, i gotta play it...

  • Yeah! This project amazed me so much that I just had to make a trailer for them to help promote it. Laggy NES emulator? Which one you using? Nestopia and FCE Ultra are the two most popular. Feel free to message me if you need help with NES emulation.

  • i did not know about those 2 nes emulators, but then again i found the one i got by searching for playable nes games during my computer keyboarding class XD i will get one of those tomorrow and get this game. 1 question though, will i have to spend as much time leveling and/or dieing and having to re-go through the dungeon? or did you find a way to make the mid-dungeon save spots like in the later ff games?

  • It's like a normal Final Fantasy. But you don't need to worry about that because with video game emulators you can save your game at any point you want. With Nestopia for example, once a game is open press either 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 to instantly save a state. Each number is a different save slot. To recall a save state, just hold down the Shift key then press the number where you saved your save state.

  • i know that you can do that, but with rpg's on emulators i try to do it without using savestates at least once, so that way i get the experience the game makers intended.
