  • This was originally for oboe and piano. It was transcribed for violin in 1933.

  • @hwales1 Are you sure about that? I thought it was originally for voice and piano. It doesn't matter too much , though, as Stravinsky did the arranging himself. As a bassoonist, I get to play the arrangement for violin, oboe, English horn, clarinet and... bassoon. I love it so much I may just transcribe the solo part some day.

  • @SingingStovepipe I could be wrong, but anyway, you should totally transcribe it for bassoon! I play a little bassoon too.

  • @SingingStovepipe Where did you get your arrangement? I've been looking around online for it and haven't been able to find it.

  • @myukguk I borrowed it from the library at the Eastman School of Music. If you can't find it, it may be out of print. Ask your librarian if you can interlibrary loan. If not, send me a private message...
