  • did Dangle just call Sundin to the Nucks?

  • hahah love the intro

  • Ahh, sigh.

  • DALLAS WINS

    :D

  • sundin wasted 13 years of his career in t.o as a leaf i had to say that.... he needs to go

  • Canucks apperantly lost the deal due to their firing.

Leafs & Detroit are now a front runner.

    KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED.

  • Theres also dallas, anaheim, montreal as well

  • As reported on Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday, Brunnstrom had a short list of five or six and further reduced that to one: the Canucks, whose general manager, Dave Nonis, did a good job of selling the youngster on the team and the city.

Now the Canucks have to finalize contract details with agent J.P. Barry over the next week.

    HELL YEA TEAM SWEDEN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha it's basically that too haha. he'll get prime time minutes

  • brodeur is way better

  • i hope we get him!!hes amazingg

  • You guys are lucky if you get Fabian Brunnström on your team. Im a färjestad fan and i have followed him this season. And belive me when i say that he is an incredible hockey player! Brunnström petty much got everything that it takes to be an "NHL superstar" :p i wouldn't compare him to alfredsson, he is more like a little copy of detroits Pavel Datsyuk. I really hope that he will play for Toronto, because like you said Vancover and detroit kind of already have "team sweden" =)

  • I highly doubt he will play for Toronto, though it'd be wonderful. Can you translate the other users? lol

  • Yeah, but you can always hope =)

I heard that Boston and Ottawa were interested too. you want me to translate? sure ^^

"xlptr" asked me if it was me who made the compare between Brunnström and Datsyuk, cuz it was a swedish expert that said the same thing on tv earlier. and i admitted that i kind of stold it from him ^^ but that i agree to 100% =)

  • Last time Raycroft had a win? Nov 9th 2007 againist the Sabres.

  • hes only played 10 games though.

  • and won 2 of them. The last one wasnt his fault though, he was solid.

  • looks like anarchy in leaf land right now. what do you think the odds of Antropov being traded are? id love him here on the rangers, although i dont think we have anything you'd want for him

  • I'm so refreshed to hear that somebody see's that Antropov has worth. People here in Toronto will continue to rip him and devalue him like no tomorrow [although this year the boo's have stopped and been on McCabe]. I really like everything Antropov brings to the table, the only knock on him is his penalty minutes, none come by fighting majors and its around 60 minutes.

  • i went to the leafs at ranger game with my dad, and on the way there, we were talking about how much we'd want antropov, and then jokingly offered up Marcel Hossa him. Nik then proceeded to get a hattrick against us. i love his ability to get to the net which is really what the rangers need. anyone on new york you'd realistically take for him?

  • Well i gotta be honest, im not good at proposing trades. So I won't attempt to, but on the Rangers there are a few guys I'd try to steal away. They include Staal (obviously), Dubinsky, Avery (even though hes a jerk, hes important) and then prospects Cherapanov and Sanguinetti. You offer a trade and I'll accept or deny. You can include more Leafs if you like...lol

  • i think those prospects are untouchable, and i dont know ifavery with tucker would bea good idea lol. i dont think the rangers haveanythign to give for him.theres some other prospects that are pretty good, but i dont know, i dont think antropov is comin here lol

  • sorry i mean administer cpr to this lifeless franchise

  • "This is the best guy for the job, he will bring life to this lifeless team" Jim Ludzik funny how The Spin show was mostly on the Leafs firing JFJ. It certainly makes me feel better watching it over and over Jim Fletcher takes over best decision for the Leafs. And now they're starting speculation on Sundin again.

  • Two Jims? it's Steve Ludzik and Cliff Fletcher

  • I recently discovered your videos and I have to say...they are some of the funniest things I have ever seen.

But aside from that, did you happen to see Kovalchuk's hit on Rozsival last night? Definitely deserving of that spot on the jerk list.

  • I haven't but I'll look it up

  • yay they fired jfj!!

  • doubtin the leafs makin the playoffs.

i dont really know whats goin on with them but im glad they went on that streak.

But i gotta say that I think the devils are really underated cuz i never hear about em. Maybe just cuz i live on the west coast? Whatever

    Go leafs Go

(ps, i was on the same flight as roberto luongo to vancouver :) i know you guys are jealous :P

  • no they're underrated haha probably becaus epeople are so sick of them

  • WOOHOO JFJS GONE!!

  • why they put in raycroft in,it doesn't make any sense to me cuz toskala had a 3 game winning streak. why would they take him out they were winning with him so why not just leave him in?

  • Not a bad move, don't want Toskala going back to back after a groin injury not long ago. Raycroft was not the reason we lost anyways.

  • agreed 100% with shanthony

  • Steve I'mn surprised you're buying into the Lungo=Best Goalie hype. Even though he is one of the most talented netminders in the NHL, he is behind Brodeur in almost all major goaltending stats except for save precentage, where Luongo holds a .005% edge.

I loathe Brodeur and the Devils more the the Canucks but i'm still giving credit where credit is due! Luongo is not the best in the NHL.

Source: NHL Stats Summary as of 1/22

  • I personally think the save% is the most important stat. The GAA is a TEAM stat to me. Look at his stats in Florida they speak for themselves: great goalie, awful team.

  • If that's your main criteria, then Pascal Leclaire, and Tim Thomas are both better than Luongo this season. Though granted Luongo has faced more shots than either of them or Brodeur.

All I can do really is point to the standings, in the end winning percentage is what matters most overall and Luongo's team has freefalled from second in the West to 8th.

  • yeah but at the same time he has no offense in front of him and only a few points separates where they are from where they were. Luongo is NORMALLY the best goalie in the NHL. This year it's been a few people, Lundqvist included despite how bad the rest of his team's been

  • At least your team is not blowing any leads. If the Isles blow another lead I will go insane. Maybe its our goal horn. Dubie needs to play good today.

  • I'll pretend I didn't hear that. If blown leads were nickels, the Leafs would have...a lot of nickels

  • Well I meant lately but at least my guys won. Anyway Isles won and the score is 7 to 3Devils over Steve Downie and the Flyers. Now thats what I like to hear. Flyers get Broduered!

  • JFJ's gone. Cliff Fletcher's in as interm GM. Well this is probably a step in the right direction, JFJ didnt have the experience to do a good job. Now what though? I still think Raycroft should get waived.

  • whooo the hell knows. I think tucker's days are numbered.

  • Tucker, Poni, Wellwood, Kubina, Blake maybe Sundin (although for Mats they had better hold out for an absolute SWEET deal.)

  • But I have to say the chances of us getting Brunstrom compared to Detroit of Vancouver believe Detroit and Vancouver are way more aggressive on the market, and our GM just gives away Tukka Rask misspelled<= for Raycroft sorry Rayzor, no offense to Raycroft but Rask had a great career on the way. And I think JFJ noticed his mistake after the deal was done.

  • Steve have you looked at the RealGM ask Chris Bosh videos ever? I have to say it's sickening an athlete offers to answer fans video responses and he get a bunch of bull s%#$. I somewhat agree with you ant but i do want the Leafs to finish somewhat strong. GO LEAFS!

  • I've seen a few of Bosh's videos, but none of those "RealGM" videos

  • i do NOT want them making finishing 8th yes it was exciting to follow and constantly look at the scores of other eastern conference games, even cheering for the sens at times (in the best interest of the leafs) BUT, when all was said n done, we came up short and if we try it again this year, which we're far from, we'll be in the exact same position next year, fighting for the playoffs with a draft pick that will be a 3rd liner at best in a couple years

    blow the season leafs. please

  • Damn straight, luogno is the best goalie ever! :D:D:D

  • In all honesty im not really that disappointed with this loss. They had a couple unlucky bounces but they battled back and threw everything but the kitchen sink at Brodeur. Let just hope they take this for what it was -an unlucky break- and continue on with the home and home with the caps with the same work ethic.

  • John Madden had a couple of really lucky goals. Raycroft ACTUALLY played well yesterday. Brodeur is an unfuckingbelievable goalie.

  • I'm so lost why wasn't toskala in net??? sick again?

  • they dont want him playing back to backs so he doesnt get tired or over worked, especially with the home and home with the capitals coming up this week as well.

  • He needed a break after the day before. Raycroft played pretty well... but in all honesty, Vesa is a fantastic netminder.

    TOSKY!!!

  • yea thats pretty much just what i said :)

  • yeah, they're three game win streak...all the teams they fasced wither had the flu or were on a losing streak...on top of that, they are still where they were before, they havnt went anywhere, if anything, its false hope leafs nation...

  • The media seems to think Fergie won't last the home-and-home with Ovechkin.

  • lmao at the beginning...

anyway im not upset about that game concidering raycroft was in goal...but if we can get on another winning streak i still have hopes for the playoffs, otherwise lets dump it...

btw how did you get to the nhl awards...didnt know you could just buy em... ?

  • My friend agev me a number, no idea how she got it, I called, and i was in. I told them I was in a TV program and they told me to come early for rehearsal. I saw tons of hockey/Canadian celebs, shook hands with Cam Neely, appeared on screen with Sidney Crosby. All kinds of cool stuff I'll eventually talk about.

  • damn...lucky,

see ya on the next vid :)

  • I don't think the Leafs are making the playoffs. It's not a great conference but considering there are still so many teams ahead of them that could get hot and keep them out I just dont see it going down. I still think the ideal scenario is to call it a season now and make some trades that will free up some cap space for us to bulid a team around

  • They should've played Boyce.

  • I think once they decide they're out of the playoffs for sure, they should call up some of the Marlies for 2 or 3 game stints, then let them get playoff experience in the AHL

  • Agreed, they should definitely give him a shot, he's a solid two way player. I saw him a lot last year when he was playing for UNB.

  • Who, Boyce?

    Damn good hockey player.

  • They should've had clemmensen for this game, so he could finally play a game in New Jersey. Raycroft needs to go. He seems like a nice guy, but he is making a million a win so far. The delusion that if Sundin is traded for picks/future is just that. Leafs history of trading picks away doesnt make me feel good about that at all. Trade tucker, give raycroft away for a bag of pucks, re sign sundin and do some dirty offersheet moves in the off season. Im a leafs fan, but there is no future...

  • to be fair, Raycroft was NOT the reason the leafs lost, although you may be right about Clemmensen. Rayzor legitimately had 3 strange ones go in (2 off his D, one off an ass)

  • Thats a great scenario, I remember (remember lol) how Tucker produced last year one the PP. He was always bugging guys on the side of the net and had a very quick release I can't believe he's so damn hesitant to take that slapper, same as Kilger he won the damn Slapshot Speed Challenge last year. I hope we get it straight soon...

  • Its obvious this team isnt gonna win the cup and at best, a first round exit in the playoffs... and as much as i hate to say it the time is now to rebuild. In a perfect world we trade Sundin*tear* (along with many others) and get some good young prospects or picks, resign Sundin in the offseason to show the new kids the way, and go from there.

This is what i want to happen, but what i want and what happens is always 2 different things with the leafs.

  • I hope they don't get 8th. Hopefully they get 14th, so they are not the bottom of the NHL. Sadly, Sundin has to be traded along with Tucker, Kaberle, and Blake if at all possible. Build for the future. And if we did get 8th, we could beat Ottawa, we always do, we would however lose in the next round.

    Go Leafs Go

  • Capitals may be able to win that terrible divison. Watch out for Ovechkin

  • I hope they do, it'd look good on the rest of that division.

  • I really REALLY don't want Sundin to go. It may be really good for the team...I get that...but I'm worried that if he goes, he wont come back. He probably will, but that chance is always there. Now, if he goes, he goes. I won't hate him for it.

Anyways...the boys did good tonight. We were facing BRODEUR...so the fact that they actually got back into the game was great.

  • All streaks come to and end...the 3 in a row was great. Now I just hope we don't go into a losing streak though!

And I'm really interested in this Brunnstrom kid. Sounds like he's really good. Look at Sundin now...and this guy is doing better than he did back in the day...so WATCH OUT. It would be awesome for us to get him.

  • I think they said on the hotstove that he is going to sign a 2 year deal, starting next year.

  • The leafs will probably end up in 9th or 10the miss the playoffs by a couple of points AGAIN, and get a crappy draft pick(if they still have this years pick, I don't know. But I will be happy if they get 8th place because it would be nice to see them in the playoffs for the first time in 4 years, even if they get swept in the first round, but seriously, I was 9 the last time they made the playoffs. :(

  • Wow,for once in like some amount of games the Devils beat us.

  • woo, packers, overtime.

    sorry

  • thanks for jinxing my packers lol ahhhhhhhhh

  • 1. I don't want the Leafs to make a push for the 8th spot, because changes are needed now. I don't want the current roster for the next year.

    2. Even if they do become 8th they will get swept by Ottawa, and we wont have the "it doesn't matter unless you beat us in playoffs"

    3. I want the Leafs to become sellers for the sake of our future.

  • I agree 100%. I heard that when John Ferguson was hired, he came to the board with a "plan" to rebuild the Leafs from the ground up. But the Board, in all there grand wisdom told him "No, we want a winner NOW!" He was than forced to go with what he had, and the rest is history...

  • We lost, but I thought it was a pretty good third period. What can you do, when you are facing one of the best goalies ever?

One player who I think has played excellent of late, is Ian White. He's really moving the puck fast, and eluding for-checkers in Kaberle-like fashion.

BTW, Glad you used the "Brodeur'd" term, it is quite fitting.

    Talk to you later Steve.

    Cheers, Carmie.

  • White started the year TERRIBLY if you ask me, but yes, much less mental gaffes and stupid risks than before.

  • dp pawns bro-turd & du-du-ongo

  • game 5 of the stanley cup finals last season, Chris Phillips kicked it in.
