  • I don't want to be free, I just want to be happy, there is no true freedom, if there was, I would be able to fly. My point is to stop wasting your time on something you can't get, it's become something not of being happy and free, it's being stubborn and and trying to prove yourself against the things holding you down, but what all goals come down to is trying to reach for more happiness, surviving is, if you survive you feel good that you survive, e.g. you can be happy about dieing or not.

  • freedom is an illusion, America is not free, it is tolerant. Freedom to me would be living a life without the fear of being persecuted over some bullshit like smoking pot or placing a bet or lets say my pussy luck is low and I need a hooker...so what? I laugh at the idea that America is free. For a free country, it sure has a lot of rules. Land of opportunity perhaps. In a truly free nation, nobody should have to tell you,"you're free" Freedom is an illusion

  • @cravintruth like i've said, there is no true freedom, if there was I could walk up to lady gaga and kick her in the nuts, (which she has for your info) and not get in trouble for it. Every place has rules, the universe is made of rules, like gravity, or what things are made of, why does any certain object have to be made of an element and still be the same?

  • As Gandhi said ignorance is the cause of all human suffering. Ignorance is used in this way not to just mean not knowing, but ignorant of other people's feelings. In true freedom, one should be able to do WHATEVER the fuck he wants as long as it doesn't cause any human suffering. It's all about love. Being considerate/empathetic of other people. My opinion of course...

  • Freedom for me is being allowed to be gay and most of all freedom is about trust and control.

  • FREEDOM for me is to not have to work and spend time with family and being there for my daughter, wife and other friends.

Its about having an income that still pays you after you done all the hard work.

Its about doing good being free to help the people who need it.

Freedom will only come to people who do good.

But we all have our own views and that in its self is freedom.

  • Acting for one's self, without harming anyone else is freedom.

Acting upon consent with another person or persons, who agree is freedom.

Another person denying one's right to act for one's own self is not freedom.

Another person denying a group's right to consent is not freedom.

Oh yeah...The 150km per hour thing... I usually drive like 10mph slower than that on a regular basis where I live, haha.

  • Sure, there are laws put in place to deny specific freedoms, like speed limits or not allowing businesses to collude over prices. They're there to protect society as a whole and to keep it from collapsing.

Things like gay marriage, prostitution, gambling, polygamy, marijuana use (non-aggressive drugs), etc, where individuals are consenting among themselves to pursue happiness, which have no, or barely any effect on others around them, shouldn't be outlawed.

  • why do you restrict drug use to non agreesive? If people are heroin addicts should they be supplied with clean needles, clean product, and overdose kits? They are going to do it regardless of the law and it is safer for them under supervision. And besides, most illicit drugs at one time were used as a pharmaceutical agent to treat something. I know more people that abuse prescription drugs than illegal ones.

  • Freedom is free will. It is the lack of coercive force from others onto yourself. Freedom is the ability to act in accordance with one's own true self or values. When we start using coercive force freedom comes to a halt. Most of our problems in the world come from a lack of freedom and the use of too much force. A person is born free and then the government steps in some cases to protect your freedoms but sometimes governments overstep their jobs of defending freedom and start abusing coercion.

  • freedom 2 me means issuing a visa 2 any place takes me away from egypt

  • Democracy is not enough

  • Only secular system brings freedom

  • FREEDOM to me is:1)doing whatever i want as long as it does not harm others.2)practice my religion freely and demand people'respect as long as i respect them and their religion.3)say my opininon and express&discuss it as long as i let others do the same in general freedom is DEALING WITH PEOPLE WITH THE SAME WAY I WANT THEM TO DEAL WITH ME

  • i totally agrre with u

  • @1628820 all you say is JUST what i wanted to support!!!IN THIS UNJUST SOCIETY WHICH WE HAVE CREATED,I AM LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT,THE JUSTICE AND THE TRUTH...

I 'm just a 16-year-old girl, but i'm completely conscious about the existant social and politican situation of this world and i'm gonna try my best in this life to improve them.Freedom means REAL dimocracy and we deserve it!!!

    (katerina from athens,Greece)

  • Freedom is a real big word. For me Freedom start with free press and being open minded to the other point of view. Freedom includes democracy where ppl set up the definition of freedom by themselves not the corrupt governments.

  • I agree with u bsaleh....thnx for ur comment...:)

  • freedom means not to be afraid from what u say and what u do ;) !! that is for me FREEDOM ;) thanx for the video :) really good work ;)

  • Thnx for ur comment hydrullica....:)

  • I just reviewed the article referring to the economy of some arab countries. As a matter of fact, I have a correction to my past comment about Egypt's economical rank globally. It's actually the 30th not the 35th :-) pretty good eh...to the extent that it's unbelivable actually.

  • umm...thnx for ur feedback Rania...i got ur link and i read the article..but i think there r some misunderstanding here....i will tell u why...

  • first of all ...this site was talking about GDP..(gross domestic product)...NOT Economic Growth or if Egypts economy strong or no...

and we must know what does GDP mean ...GDP is the total market value of all final goods and services produced within the boundaries of Egypt....whether by domestic or foreign-owned sources, during specified period of time (usually ayear)

  • GDP is calculated without regard to the ownership of productive resources .Thus, the value of the output of a foreign-owned factory in egypt is included

GDP differs from gross national product (GNP), which is defined to include all final goods and services produced by resources owned by that nation's residents, whether located in the nation or elsewhere.

  • GDP is not an ideal measure of economic well-being

  • we can know the condition of the economy of any country by Economic Growth index and it may be defined as an increased in real per capita output...

  • After all these theories Rania...i think there is another thing we should Mention too..that i believe all these numbers are erroneous massively because of all these numbers were provided by an arabian governments....and we know what does it mean to these Dictatorial government to declare the economics results...

  • I put some links in ur profile and mine too Rania...i would like u too take alook ...one of them for how much Egypts economy suffering from poverty and corrubtion...in compare by the normal world..i will not say even the developed world....u can say that we r in the same category with sudan and yemen.....

and the other r leads to ...we can see that egypt rank is 51 not 30th and its not a good thing as i mentioned why....

  • I mean if Egypt is taking second place after Saudi Arabia at this time. Then if egypt actually is governed by a political leader who will organise its economy affairs better, Whta place do you think egypt will take???!! Ofcourse it will be much higher. We dont have as much oil as Saudi arabia but we have our civilisation, the natural gas and cotton and many more!!

  • Hi Rania...

thnx for ur comment i really appreciate it....but its hard for me too to believe that egypt is the strongest economy in the middle east after saudia...

how did u know that..or whats ur sources ...???

  • Just a quick comment about egypt's conditions.Yesterday I had a quick look at what economy is up to. It turned out that Egypt's economy is the strongest (in the middle east) second after Saudi Arabia. Egypt held the 35th place globally. Thats not bad at all

  • I find that sooo hard to believe what are your sources about Egypt's economy? I kind of may think that may be true if population is put into consideration... but then does that still make the egyptian economy as good as it should be? I don't know, but yeah your comment got me thinking, just need sources.

    thanks ranoosha!

  • Thanks for your feedback Nermeen. Yes I got sources. I know, I couldn't believe at first. And No, I dont think that it's the best egypt could do. It could go much further than that. That was my point.

  • I can't post the link here. I'll do it on your page if that's alright.

  • sure no problem. thanks for answering.

  • ofcourse, when talking about God's predistination (al Qadaa wal qadar). That's another story. because in thsi case no one is physicially preventing you from doing something. But once you exceed the limits of the fact your "free choices" is affecting someone else's choices, then you have exceeded your freedom limit. Everything in this world has a limit, beleiev it or not, even freedom has a limit.

  • Every person born into this world is free. This means no other person or entity is given the authority to , in anyway, hurdle his right to experience the privileg of a life that is directed by one's freewill.

That's what freedom is to me.

  • nice video... inta bit hib masr awiiiii zayee... nd i like that... it maybe a pile of trash 3rd world country to sum ppl but i LOVE IT keep up da gd wrk ma dude

  • thnx for ur comment....tab3an ba7eb masr...wekollena ben7ebaha....bas bardo mesh hate3raf teflet men elso2al...gaweb ya beeh

What does 'freedom' mean to you?

  • aah another amazing video. Keep up the great work :]

Freedom ,in my opinion, is the ownership of one's body.

It is the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints.

Freedom is not free. But it is a gem of great price.

  • Thank u for ur encouarging ayah...and thnx alot for ur powerful comment

  • no problem :)

  • No problems etlakaaaaaan.....:P

  • Freeegypt, you ask the question and viewers are to respond if they desire to do so. Along with freedom comes a great amount of responsibility as to how each person exercise the use of their freedom regardless of how one defines freedom. Peace to all

  • freeegypt, i think, before anyone can answer that question in context, tell us all what freedom means to you.

  • hi chuck

i made this video asking what does freedom mean to u ...i didnt say what does freedom mean to me...i just wanted to know what does it mean to u...i want to know the other opinions...

  • Very complex and thought provking question as there are many elements in regards to freedom. I wish to be physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually free and that is the foundation of freedom to me. PEACE TO ALL!

  • Hi Eva...

    i hope u will be physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually free...and i think u r ..

    Peace to u eva

  • You are confused. You fail to distinguish between freedom and individual actions. Freedom is philosophical concept that describes the state of existence. Freedom is the state of directing ones own affairs; i.e., self-determination. Action is the result of giving effect to cause; for example, your post causing me to respond with a comment. I cannot be held responsible for my actions causing harm to another because I am free, but because my actions cause harm.

  • thnx for your great comment bbburton....u r right i was a little confused...not totally confused..just a little..but its getting clear now....thnx again for ur comment

  • that sounds confusing, and it kind of doesn't make sense, could you repeat what you said in another way...?!

  • looool....ana 2a3adt sa3a 3ashan afham hea to2sod eh...

  • freedom is to be able to have an opanion, to have a say in every thing, to have the power to live. Thats freedom leaving a peacefull life. because peace is the number one key to all our proplems. peace out

medo u rock!and this video is great!!!!

    thanks!

  • hi Sara...

thnx for comment....where have u been gurl...??keep ur comments up...thnx for the encouraging

  • well as for me freedom is to live and let others live without annoying or bothering any body

  • useful Abbreviated as usual moroug....thnx for ur comment

  • Many people wouldn't because they wouldn't take the risk of the damages associated with it. Even though one may live in a somehow called free society will never truly live in a 100% free society. (For the message, you must start from the 3rd comment area.)

  • Thnx Maria for ur message and for ur fully detailed comment...it was really great....thnx again

  • What the pursuit of happiness? I believe that having freedom allows anybody to pursue their dreams, without any agression or oppression. However in every society there are rules. Without rules, there can be anarchy. I believe everything in life is always best with moderation. Some people smoke, because they are free to, and they also know the implications of it. (continue)

  • Freedom to me is knowing your own limitations. God gave every human being a conscience and the ability to know right from wrong, what is good, what is bad. Freedom to murder is prohibited in any religion, but self defense is obviously allowed to protect an indiviual and/or their family. I also believe that freedom allows you to practice your religion and be tolerant of others as long as nobody hurts themselves or others. (continue)

  • Freedom is being able to make your own choices as long as the consequences of those choices don't directly infringe on the freedoms of another person. You can't kill someone without consent, you can't steal from people without consent, you can't injure a person without consent, you can't enslave someone without consent, and you can't damage someone's property without consent.

  • I would also like to add that freedom doesn't mean democracy. You can have a democracy and the people choose to outlaw something like... owning a house in a certain neighborhood, or ban a color you like to wear. Just because the majority agrees with a law doesn't mean it's just, moral, or an example of freedom.

  • here's a short video about the philosophy watch?v=UCVlfTIOwaM

  • There is a strong association between democracy and Freedom (liberty) but they are not the same....and thats what u just said...thnx for ur comment Jen

  • i agree with u Jen....Freedom is the societal condition that exists when every individual has full (i.e. 100%) control over his own property.

  • Excellent with a very powerful message. Well done, brother! Top marks!

  • Thnx for encouraging and supporting me BaghdadBeat07 ...but u didnt tell us what does freedom meen to u

  • Ok...Freedom means having the right to express your thoughts and the right to choose your own lifestyle, profession, spouse etc. Of course, with that comes responsibility; as citizens we exercise our rights and freedoms responsibly. The question is hypothetical really; in reality freedom and democracy are defined differently according to where in the world we live.

  • thnx for ur speedy response.....Excellent comment...:)

  • It's really funny that freedom, which indicates the meaning of being free of limits, yet, you need these limits to be really practise freedom,or else you will turn into an animal or retarded irresponsible person.

  • thnx for ur great comment lightofshado ..it was so good

  • By the way ya medo, you don't complain about what's going on. You are a journalist and you tell it like it is and it is an admirable quality you have, don't pay mind to anyone's comments.

  • thnx alot for ur sweet comment Nermeen.....:)

  • El musiqa fel background gamil gedan. Ana mabsoota enak sa2alt el so2al dah. I think freedom is not universal and it doesn't have a universal definition. Feeh freedoms mabte3melsh hesab lel deen, we feeh freedoms mabte3melsh hesab lel nas.

Fee freedoms mabte3melsh hesab le ayy hadd fe ayy haga.

  • hi Nermeeeen

hea de el7orrea walla balash.....eh elshaga3a elly enty feha elyomeen dol ya nermooo

  • freedom is to do anything without God impiety, or it means to to do anything without harming yourself or harming others .

  • Hi zainab

thnx for ur comment .... it was useful abbreviated ...:)

  • 5 stars as usual ya medo, wa lw kan fe 10 stars, walahy kont edetlek 10 stars... keep the creative videos and ideas up always... I like much your personal videos :)... well done.. salam alikom

  • Hi tarek..

thnx alot for ur 5 stars man...ur 5 stars mean 50 for me...dont worry..:)....but u didnt tell us what does 'freedom' mean to you?

  • i think that freedom doesn't mean 2 do anything u like or it would lead 2 chaos.

everyone should know that freedom comes along with responsibility,u must b responsible b4 being free.

there is also traditions that need 2 b considered,i know u may say what abt creativity u can't b handcuffed with traditions, what u say may b true but sometimes respecting traditions is not that bad.

  • hi Yumna

i really liked this part in ur comment...<<freedom doesn't mean 2 do anything u like or it would lead 2 chaos>>...I totally agree with u ..freedom comes along with responsibilty...

    i really appreciate ur comment...

    thnx again

  • freedom like lots of other things, can't b defined.

everyone may say it's easy 2 define it but when u ask them 2 do so they begin in stumbling, they may say freedom is 2 b free 2 do whateva u like but what does it mean 2 b free?there is no definition 4 freedom, love, good and bad.

it depends only on how u practice this stuff.

  • i like this video. this is the first time u send me something that does not complain about what's going on in egypt, and this is why i'm commenting. these "moral questions" may be "troubling" to some1 who does not have a code of ethics and conduct. to me they are not troubling at all since i have the best guidline ( Quraan & Sunnah) which defines for me what is permissible and what not.

  • hi mohamedhendawy

iam so glade that u liked this video...i know its the first time to send u something that does not complain about what's going on in egypt...and iam so glad that u commented..so keep ur comments up ...thnx for ur comment mohamed

  • By the way mohamed...iam not complaining about what's going on in egypt all the time....iam just trying to tellling u whats going on in egypt now....this is egypt now...its full of corruptions and dishonesty...not the egyptian people ofcourse...its the government....this is the reality and this is true and u should face that...we should try to face that together..try to do any thing..any thing...to help ur country to free ur country to FREE EGYPT

  • sweet! freedom to me is the freedom of speech, freedom of choice, freedom to think individually, freedom to choose my leaders, freedom to choose my religion, and the freedom whether to apply to censorship or religion doctrines! i guess there's more to it, but these are off the top of my head =)

  • hey munkiiboi

sorry for not replying for u since 5 days ...i was reading all the comments and i really appreciate urs....

    thnx again
