you know........ i like that a lot. unpretentious.....was it a spontaneous urge to set up a camera? i liked the changes in the length of lines. i'd like to hear more... got access to a live rhythm section? can you do layers... love to hear how you fit two clarinet lines together. post some more!
Thanks for responses!! I have my strengths and weaknesses. The strength is my clarinet improvisatory "voice". Its personal and original and has been bouncing around my head since I was a kid, listening to everyone from Bird to Trane to guitarist Johnny Smith. The weakness derives from playing born out of noodling, w/o much transcription or formal study of Jazz Improvisation. As such, my vocabulary and approach to changes is limited. I'll be in the shed for a while though, getting back to basics.
Really excellent clarinet work - "How High the Moon" particularly hip - with strong bop lines, phrasing, feeling and overall structure - Where's this guy been!?
