@wmc128 How will a capo help with the F chord? A capo clamps the strings completely. Therefore, if you were to use a capo, a different sound will come out. Do you even know what capos are for?
I feel like Index-barring the 6-chord F requires some 10kgs of force ! phew... I feel like these steel chords will be permanently embedded into the flesh :)
this chord is the one who makes me quit playing my guitar every time! to hear that somebody actually took a long time to get this down might give me sense that it does take practice to accomplish some things. I'll try to push my self harder this time around.
this is my 4th time starting all over again. I say that because this is the 4th time I'm building my finger callouses again. Thanks for the encouragement!
Phew is right! I'm sure I could have improved upon that had I worked harder on it. However, I'm not a real quick learner, and my fingers are a little more difficult than some to get clarity all the way through. The good news...I finally got it, and so can anyone who keeps working on it! Blessings, Ken
Thanks for taking the time to show me that cord, I'm progresing ever week, but have a ways to go,It's a lot of fun so I plan to stay at it, Thaks again, Joe
Thanks for the tips. It was good to hear you say it took a couple years to get the F chord down. Sometimes as a new player I don't know if I should be able to do something after practicing a couple days or a couple weeks..etc.

Buy a capo until you have the finger strength.Or learn to play something else besides bar chords, learn scales or something.

Do you strum with your fingernails? Do you just trim your left hand (for chords) and strum with your nails on the other hand?
