  • I don't know much about planes, so I asked my hubby from the living room what would happen if the fuselage on the plane just suddenly fell off in mid flight. He came over to me from the other room, sat me down and asked me if I was seriously asking that question. I said yes. He replied, with a serious look on his face, "Honey, that's like saying your torso is going to spontaneously fall off while walking into the supermarket."

I never laughed so hard in my life.

  • If I got thrown on to the roof in the cabin only one thing i could say.... "HOLY SHIT IM FLYIN!"

  • Wow gReat captain, and I thought they all would be dead, thank god he saved them!

  • poor people...

  • Im going to hell for this, but when the plane started to bank to the right, and the guy said "The plane seems to be banking right". I laughed.

  • most people would love to do a barrel roll in a 747, though in this case i think not

  • @Katykool1265

I know what you mean. I was hooked on a series of this before i went spain. In the plane, on the way there, i just expected the engines to cut out or sumin to go wrong!

  • If the plane had overspeeded, it would of had torn apart

  • @EliteGamer005 Overspeeded? You know that word doesn't exist right?

  • @EliteGamer005 oversped not overspeeded

  • I think I've just decided not to go on a plane for a long long long time... (GULP)

  • Bill Peacock's daughter Sally was in my 3rd grade class and I remember Bill coming and talking to our class about his experience. He told us about people getting sick from the G forces and the stewardess crawling up the aisles during the fall and breaking her nails. Glad he is doing well! I had always wondered what the full story was with this flight.

  • 11 dislikes from Airbus fans, because they know if this was an airbus they would all be dead

  • They all popped up like popcorn

So would I - I do not want to be last in the queue for the toilet

  • this is why i always travel eva air instead of china airlines when i go to china, even though eva air costs more, its more safe

  • i can't believe nobody died in this..

  • Bill Peacock IS in first class. He's travelled all over the world for the American government...So, what's wrong with coach? I don't want my tax dollars going to pay for first class travel for our "leaders."

  • wow this is unbelievable recovery... though some wrong measures were taken but still HATS OFF TO THE PILOT NOT ONLY THE AIRCRAFT WAS SAVED NO ONE WAS HURT..WOW...

  • My favt ACI episode.

  • 07:32 you can see a windows mouse icon on the speed indicator:P

  • Since when can a state of the art jet NOT fly on 3 engines and stall? Maybe I watch too many of these episodes but can't adjusting the throttle on the other engine keep it from banking?

  • @xPinkStrifex

That's exactely what I thought; does anybody have an answer please ?

  • The pilots accents make me LOL all the time

  • @Sonicx5698 i wonder if you'd be LOLing if you were in there lol :)

  • I would have had a heart attack!

  • this is fake

  • @AlkalineTrio124 Could you tell how?

  • After watching many of these, I'm honestly impressed with how cool pilots remain under such crazy, terrifying circumstances. I like how he kept reporting the plane's altitude. "15,000 feet! 12,000 feet! 10,000 feet! Emergency! Emergency!" If that were me, all I could say is "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOMGOMGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

  • @HittokiriBatosai Ya thats what I was thinking too but This is a reconstruction of the situation...not the real thing.

  • @Ilovewestjet1 Reconstruction yes, but it's based on cockpit voice recordings and ATC transcripts. It might not be 100% accurate, but what's said in the reconstruction is pretty close to what they said in the real thing.

  • @HittokiriBatosai Oh, sorry.

  • @HittokiriBatosai haha and i would say Oh GOD save me as i would totally forget that i have people on board too.

  • @HittokiriBatosai LMAO! me too :S:S

  • is this true???

  • @jtobin13

What do you mean "is this true"?? Whether this actually happened?

  • @jtobin13 you think discovery channel lies?

  • you people really need to get a life, Mr Soccer and My Pinky !

  • @ikolkyo967 sir,are you a pilot?if not than you need to stop commenting

  • @MrSoccerfanatic1 sir,are you his boss? if not then you need to stop bugging.

  • @MyPinky2003 okay stupid cocksucker they are professional pilots okay, they do not sit at home and wish they were pilots!!!so SHUT THE FUCK UP and say good job captain!!he saved those people, eventhough he made some mistakes!!

  • @MrSoccerfanatic1 Well he prob. knows everything about planes! i don't need to say 'Good job captain!" or some gay ass english stuff. You Shut the fuck up you gay ass son of a bitch man whore. Go fuck your mom and get a job instead of laying on your 50 year old lazy ass calling people cocksuckers.

  • i know that this is horrible but bouncing up and down in the plane looks kinda fun....

  • The pilot should have focused on flying the plane...keeping it flying straight instead of trying to restart the engine.

  • WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! What fun!!!!!!!

  • whatever it is he did, he is a great captain. never give in

  • "people just popped up like pop corn" LOL what an introduction.

  • "emergency, emergency" really??? i thought this was normal.

  • 1985? well that's old they must have improved by now

  • The plane rolled over because the pilot failed to make any rudder inputs which would have kept the plane on the correct course. This has been attributed to jetlag. The autopilot does not connect to the rudder at all so it would have not been able to prevent the rollover. If the pilot had noticed the roll sooner and had disengaged the autopilot and applied rudder then nothing would have happened.

  • Lesson #1: Never trust autopilot or take it for granted.

  • Holy fuck. The first minute scared the fuck out of me.

  • Flying/Aviation travel is acutally one of the safest methods of travel and crashes or incidents like this dont occur all that often, but when they do happen its often spectacular and/or tragic

  • @kmayoneverdie what about trains???Also, nothing is safe.

A car may kill you, but rarely 100+ people.....Planes dont crash often, but when they crash, most ppl die

  • suddenly losing one engine really screws up a planes handerling, worse still they are heading into a fast headwind

  • come on guys!!! others land safe without no engine in fuction!!

  • but only one engine fail !! why the plane its in such trouble???

  • @chow202 Because the aircraft has been heavily damaged. the aircraft would be more controllable with all engines functioning. Also the glass is probably tempered.

  • @Tabby266 ok..i asked because once when i was on the plane from malayesia back to HK,die one engine, and didn t happen to us such thing like in this case ...thanks GOD! i think they must to be so scared...

  • they use real glass in the plane???that s bad..

  • I'm really not afraid of the plane crashing... I'M JUST AFRAID OF FALLING!

  • "Flaying is the safest way to travel"...until it crashes. In this case, human error was not deadly but was very close. Flying and driving cars is something we have to live with but, as long there are humans, there will be accidents and deaths. We can only hope probability works on our advantage to keep us out of harms way.

  • hey what

  • what crazy it could have been usfull

  • hmm atuo pilot could have been usefull

  • This is why you dont hire CHINESE pilots to fly american planes!!

  • Discovery Channel ?

    aqui passa no National Geographic

  • lol people just popped up like popcorn

  • the 4th engine flamed out thus putting more weight on wing the 4th one was making it bank to the right and he mus have his 1st officer hold his control column to ready disengaging ap but he didnt

  • 'People just popped up like popcorn'!!!!! what does that mean?

  • @chisby I want popcorn now :\

  • same i want popcorn this is exiting lol

  • @shayan531 xD

  • Omg someone actually survived? YEAH CHINA PLANES RULE! Uh, I mean, thanks to everyone on Earth we can make flying safer.

  • @simpsfutur I think EVERYONE survived.

  • @2:27 Feels like first class Beotch.

  • what could have caused that

  • Its a 747SP ! Air Crash Investigation got it wrong and put a 747-400/200 in the background

  • This is a real fuckin horror movie right here!

  • 7:45 I wanna be on the floor under her when she comes down!!

  • why don't they say where the damn flight originated? Do they figure Americans won't have heard of the place, or wtf, why would they omit information which is part of the story? Very irritating.

  • Now thats just flipping freaky! I would rather be in a plane without engines than one spinning out of control O.O

  • 10 people are north koreans cummunist

  • @zhangensprachen

yes, we do watch. I work for an airline and watch whenever I can. As a flight attendant, we are told things can get bumpy and we can be thrown to the floor, they don't tell us we can find ourselves on the ceiling if the plane rolls too much

  • I always wonder whether pilots or flight attendants watch Air Crash Investigation..

  • @zhangensprachen I am a future commercial pilot with my private license. A lot of these episodes boil down to some of the things that we are trained in flight school - grade A maintenance and more-than-cautious pilot judgment are the keys to safe flying. Most of these incidents involve either bad maintenance policy or poor pilot decision making.

  • @fortitude3030 nice assessment. I'm sure you are polishing your junior wings right now, wearing your headset chewing gum saying, "They are doing it all wrong!" Hot tip there sport, gain a few thousand hours then talk shop, until then don't sit there and bash people and their decision making when you were not there, based solely on a reenactment, and not having at least the full qualifications as the crew of the 747 did...

  • @LongbowPilot Ah! Well said, you have put me in my proper place. I didn't intend to sound cocky. If you read the post that I replied to, it was someone asking if real pilots ever watch these videos. I wanted to point out that yes we do watch and pay attention. Which I hope is true for you as well as for me.

So what do you fly for the Army?

  • @fortitude3030 AH-64D

  • That must have felt like a horrible neverending rollercoaster

  • I have flown this same route - Taipei, Taiwan to Los Angeles.

I was silly enough to read about China Airlines safety record AFTER I booked my tickets....

Their record is astounding - the amount of mishaps the airline has encountered!

  • Just a question:

If it is China Airline, why there is a Taiwanese flag icon on the airplane ?

    It shouldn't be there isn't ?

  • @RER94 China Airlines = Republic of China (Taiwan)

  • @JundaComputersGmbH wait China airlines is from taiwan? i know that air china is from China the main land

  • @RER94 Haha, it's confusing. China Airlines is Taiwanese (Republic of China). Air China is from the mainland (People's Republic of China). Both can be called "China" :P

  • Well done Boeing, too.

Man, that plane took a lot of stress after the stall.

  • Hope I'm not stereotyping, but I can imagine the Chinese crew not panicking too much and just doing the maths...as they are always the best at maths and not getting too stressed (in my experience).

  • Testament to the experise of the flightdeck crew AND the sheer robustness of

the Boeing product..frightening beyond what a nightmare can produce to be

sure however all made it out alive..injured..traumatised..but alive.

  • Everyone has already gone ape shit about the dramatization plane being a 747-300 and not an SP.

  • that one man have only food on hes mind!

    0:06

    8:04

  • @conurelover People don't tend to think logically in dangerous situations like these.

  • @conurelover Since the captain knew about some eng4 issues, he had no problems to keep the autopilot enabled to descent.

  • I don't like the narrator's voice. I call him the monotone narrator!

I like the narrator for Air Crash Investigation instead of MayDay.

  • I guess on that flight....you raff you ruse.

  • @supaderp Hmmmm...ah think if yoo check the facts it's MUCH more of a 5 that humans fuk up!!And...ultimately...it's humans that BUILT and conceived the invention of planes as well...so it's STILL humans who fuk up!!

  • 'Captain Ho' is definitely a hoe LOLol...wat a twat...trying to restart the engine at that altitude...even ah know better than that and ah can't fly a KITE much less a plane!!

  • @TheMrMarilyn regardless what he did, he still managed to land the plane safely, so fk you.

  • Comment removed

  • @zibemc Sure...but landing the plane is ALSO something that he 'did'...yoo want me to disregard that as well??lol

  • @zibemc Oh lol...ah juss realised yoo put "fuk yoo" on it lol...and there was me answering yoo all politely an shit!!What are yoo...his fukkin brother or summat!!Ah bet YOO wouldn't be too fond of him if YOO had bin on that flight love!!

  • @TheMrMarilyn next time, get the facts right before the name calling, which i hate, fond of him or not, at least everyone survived because of him.

  • I see its a Chinese airline and instantly think the (near?)crash is going to be caused by maintenence... I guarentee it.

  • why is peacock even a surname?

  • i rike popcorn - _-

  • @gnarlyCereal Hahahahahahah!!

  • whoa that chiinese attendant shouldve put on her seatbelt. and y is a black guy playing a indian in the simulation

  • @nodevoutt AND...why is the Malaysian guy so fukkin pleased with himself for havin a fukkin BIRTHday on a plane...like it's some big deal or somethin (and if he thinks that first class is so easily achieved just by drinkin a glass of champers...man...has HE got a shock in store if he ever finally DOES get to fly 1st class!!)

  • people just popped up like popcorn

  • this narrator has a great american accent. but the other guy who narrates other episodes with the british accent is even better.

  • the plane in the video doesnt look like a 747SP. either this show has a low budget or wikipedia is wrong for a change

  • peacock nice name..

  • omg i would totally loose it

  • Can you imagine an Airbus taking that kinda punishment? Nooooooooah.

  • @Truimphful chances are airbus wont ever get into situation where it will have to take this punishent since they have windows vista on board.

  • @nocturn333 lol

  • @nocturn333 What the hell difference does that make??

  • feb 19 1985? i was born on that day!

  • lol that guy keeps talking about food...

  • @MetalicAnger Almost all commercial jets flying over the sky of China are either Boeing or Airbus.

  • I wander if Indonesian dude knows something about plains, I would not have mentioned that light is off if I know nothing about it, for risk of sounding stupid

  • @MetalicAnger China Airlines is actually from Taiwan. Check Airline Contact information C. Air China, and China NW,S, United and Xinxua Airlines are from china

  • i've not flown in several years and don't have an interest now either.

  • @mountainsandsea i fly 4 living trust me,flying is safer than driving a car!

  • @solomonpilot767 Agree, traffic jams are also less frequent.

  • @solomonpilot767 No it's not -.- It's just that people are drunk when they drive and crash. There have been many airplane accidents what are caused of alcohol..

  • @solomonpilot767

Hope your flying is better than your spelling....

  • @samenindewereld fuck off i speak 4 different language faggot!

  • @solomonpilot767

Yeah, that's the proffesional kind of attitude that we would expect from a pilot.....

I speak 4 different languages too,

But in your case.... In aviation English is the common language, so you should have mastered it.

So you're probably not a pilot, and if you are, I'm sorry for your passengers. Douchebag

  • @solomonpilot767 yes, but when it happens its terrifying :(

  • @solomonpilot767 Sure, because its not meeting traffic in the air. If a car crash its 50% or something that u survive. If a airplane crashes its 99% sure that you die.

  • @M4aarc well,i feel safer flying than driving my car 2 the apt!

  • @M4aarc Yes, but the chances of you being in a car crash is WAY higher than being in a plane crash. So whilst you have less chance of surviving a plane crash, it's far less likely to happen in the first place. Even someone who flew twice a day every day for every work day of his/her life would be less likely to die flying than if they made those same journeys by car.

  • @M4aarc Aircraft are a different color of cat than a car. A car, you aren't flying 10,000 feet in the air at 250 MPH. However, unlike a car, there are no idiot drivers on a strip of pavement. There are no poles/people/whateverthefuck to it. Aircraft are way less likely to crash, so even if more people die it happens far less often.

  • God or the Boeing Company doesn't fit in the RUDDER for no reason. I m a Pilot and i will predict that the Rudder should save the day.

  • This makes me dizzy just to WATCH.

  • of course all planes crashes are human error they didnt test 4th engine enough of course planes are the safest fastest way to get from point A to point B ur more likley to die in car crash than in plane ;D

  • @houshidar558 -- They don't do a run up on engines like they used to but # 4 was working into take off. It's not the pilots. It's the situations that make no sense. Did you see the one with entire 747 engulfed in a halo? Here, how can you lose control of a plane with 3 engines still working is beyond me. So, to blame it all on human error is unfair.

  • @1975Aspen your right im not talking about this crash tho i say in general you have total point about this crash tho made no sense.

  • Can you imagine a boeing 747 falling from the sky in front of you ? :D

  • this kind of thing i dont care for new episodes. as entertaining as it is, we do not need any more and i hope that this is all.

  • i'll expect that from Chinny airlines

  • @woodss82 eat a dick bitch!

  • I am training to become a flight engineer. I originally wanted to be a pilot, but flight engineer is more suitable to me.

  • @specops3866

Does the role flight engineer exist anymore? I seen alot of aircraft that has removed the flight engineer role and only have two pilots.

  • @02Tony Yes, your correct, some airlines are getting rid of this role due to advancing technology. But some larger planes, like the 747, due to weight and payload, require a third person to monitor the fuel gauges/oil gauges and engines. It's kinda sad, but some planes will always need an inboard flight engineer.

  • @specops3866 thats old planes like 747-200 dc10, a330 a340 b777 b747-400 only requires 2 pilots

  • @specops3866 Good luck to you, but I hear new aircraft are eliminating the job of the Flight Engineeer

  • @specops3866 Good luck to you, but I hear new aircraft are eliminating the job of the Flight Engineer

  • @allkinds1 Yes thats right. But in a case, a pilot or engineer is in the cabin!

  • still the safest form of transport!!

  • popcorn :D

  • I kinda prefer the British narrator

  • the captain looks like an asian Nicolas Cage!

  • this captain is my idol.... smartest chinese guy on the planet

  • i would have pooped my pants sooo much!!!!

  • God I bet when they landed that whole plane stank of shit!!!!

  • 07:25

    Funny

  • CHEER FOR THE PILOT!

  • air crash investigation: some of it is animated and some of it is real

    cant trust these

  • @phammh08 now. I ask u, where they can make a "acrobatics" movement like that with REAL AIRPLANE?

  • ASA BUTTERFIELD

  • um..... there's something called a rudder.....

  • anyone know where to find new episodes? thanks in advance! i've watched very episode available on youtube more than twice now. i like this documentary series so much!

  • 40 seconds in..I am thinking where is superman when you need him?
