Hey man great tutorial I was just wonderin if you know the answer to this problem I have it might sound like im a bit of a noob, but when ever I create a instrument such as a thor or subtractor it allways loads a random patch and not the init patch. How do i get it back to the init patch. Thanks.
I understand how to make the sounds but how do I play it on the keyboard like you did? Like put it all together like you have it at the beginning of your video.
@Famousboi7651 legit bass hit ? just sample one of his records or buy some samples from vengeance sound. Most probably he's doing one of those two himself :-P
Hey, have you guys seen the Windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE keyboard workstation? Its perfect for running all your favorite Windows compatible software and plug-ins! Click the link below for videos!
you crack me up... you call all the controls in reason by their literal label.. you call the parameter settings params, when you initialize a patch you call it the init patch, etc. not critisizing it's just kinda funny..great tutorials though
I am a newbie in Reason. How do you save this whole patch (synth+effects). I mean, when I start a new song and wanna try this synth, do I have to go through this all again or is there a way to save the whole chain and load it afterwards?
@NickDenningMusic, yeah i think so too. I'm using reason since V2.0 came out, so i'm pretty familiar with the program. But re-create sounds like Dj Luckydate does is just incredible. Plus, he has a nice clear voice and is not rambling like some guy's do in Tutorials. Oh and by the way,now Lucky date teaches us how to create sounds and benny benassi went to mr oizo to learn some things. :-)
bullshit ! he is misleading people to do what is not necessary and showing himself as a smart ass , that is not knowledge that is fucking with peoples brains !
U mean the Diamond mine he showed to everyone had a few pieces of rock in it?U mean the Donuts he gave to us for free had a hole in them?Look at the bright side!I gotta a beautiful synth in my production arsenal all thanks to him! He's a giver.U might be better but ur heart is a small dark place with nothing to share with anyone! He's at least giving out his best to others. What have u ever given out to anyone?
That synth sounds pretty close. I might be off, but I think bennasi's synth was way more legato, and a bit less verb. That's nit-picking though, nicely done.
the synth is really good, but you should push the speed up to 133 bpm, because that's the original tempo of Satisfaction. And use a better clap sample, because benny benassi uses reverb claps.
But except of those 2 points it sounds really really nice!!
You mean the other way round, side chain the actual synth to the reverb, if you do it like this there won't be any reverb played when playing the actual synth.
From the preview at the start I can say you are missing two important things - The glide should take longer (eg notes should slide into eachother more), and you need to use sidechain compression to get the pumping sound
A couple of points that beginners watching this should know, these apply to this vid and the bodyrox one:
When you have the Sustain all the way up, the Decay parameter wont affect the sound, it has nowhere to decay to since the attack brings it to the max level and it stays there until the key is released. Also adjusting the PW in Thor has no effect on a Sawtooth, it only affects the Square wave.
Keep the vids coming man, how bout working on the lead from
Wow. Had to stop watching at 1:40 coz my ears bled... not calling "Filter Frequency Mod Wheel Amount" by its full name at 1:22 i can live with, but then calling Filter *RESONANCE* "Eff resolution" just shows you have a blatant lack of understanding in regards to synthesizers.
I used the names that people would understand if they had no understanding of reason. the names I used were what they say on the screen, if i used the full names it would confuse people who are just starting to use reason. If you already know the full names then you probably don't need to watch this video, this is a tutorial for beginners, thanks for input!
...which makes it even worse! People that don't know much about Reason and watch that video in order to learn something will now think that resonance is called resolution! You're teaching wrong things.
And by the way: a mixer is not an equalizer.
But I have to say the video still was pretty informative and I think pretty much everyone appreciates the effort and time you put into this.
Please dont take my comment as personal offense ;)
Dude.....i think you done it the right way.... Your werent teaching people about the individual aspects of a synth. You were teaching people how to get the BB sound and you done it the simplest way possible and it works. I appreciate what your doing man.
tnx 4 that kid some advice 4 u wen u use the subtractor create a rv7000 after tun it 2 dry and u will have 2 audio out puts insted of 1 hope this helps
oh great point, i decided to leave that out because that would take a whole other video to explain, but yes you are right you need a compressor and a spider
I just uploaded a video explaining how to morph the bass in between the breaks in the drums... its the video response to this video, thanks for letting me know!

@greggzccfclfc it's done by changing the cutoff in the filter. . .choose HPF (high pass filter) or BPF (bypass filter) to achieve this effect.

@lp2dk alright I found the answer. You have to put the whole into a combinator and save as a combi patch.
Am I right?

how do you save the sound as a synth im new to this
like in your other video you had the sound and all its effects saved under benny bensassi bass synth2 or something like tht
hope i made sense haha

I see you use both Mod and filter envelopes but I do not see you turn up the amount on both envelopes. If you do not turn up the amount
it should not chance the sound in any way because the amount is set at zero.
Did I miss something or did you just over look it
